When I first read this book and the voice appeared it seemed like it was a memory from the back of Bella's head and it was coming forward in times that she was either in danger or going for a thrill of something. The voice whoever is real in Bella's thoughts, but I don't think she needs to go see a shrink. When we are about to do something that we know we shouldn't be doing there's always a voice in the back of our head telling us that maybe we shouldn't be doing this because of the danger.

Bella Definately needs a shrink, cause she WAY overeacted to what happened. Sure edward was a bit mean about it but at least in the other twilight clone novels the main heroine has a mind of her own and some backbone, but they dont have Alice :D

Bella is not hallucinating. At the end of the book Edward admits that he never left and was always there. So the voices that Bella hear is really Edward' s voice. I think that it is alittle of both. her going and little crazy and her mind. Her mind is telling her from right and wrong but she doesnot want to here it so her mind projects it like edwards voice and not hers so the maybe she would listen to it.

although the voice may ar may not be real, i think it could ethir way. the reason of that its real is because, if it was a figment of her imagination she would bring it back at any point in time. although it could be fake because only bella can see and hear him.

Psychologically speaking, there is situations where when someone experiences extreme emotional trauma (which could be a break up like what's seen here) that it can cause someone to hear voices or experience hallucinations.
I get the impression from the book that this is used to illustrate that Bella's own subconscious is trying to tell her that Edward does love her, and that regardless of what she thinks, he always will .. and that this is the only way for it to do that.

as far as we know, edward doesn't have the power of projection. i think that what happened with edward's voice was a reaction very similar to what some people experience when a loved one dies. they have episodes of hearing the voice of that person as a subconscious reminder of something in their present life. it doesn't mean she's crazy, just that she is holding on. she can suppress her feelings as much as possible, but the memories would always be in the back of her head
the Edward voice is just something that makes her feel ebtter. If this happened to me, i would try to keep it with me to. Doing dangerous things and crap. It might be stupid, but wouldn't it be worth it if you could hear your true love again?
i think that it was something that helped her get through thing that happened with edward because i think that she was begining to forget what he sounded like what he felt like so i think that the hulicanation were something that helped her.

SPOILER: If Bella never hears that voice there's a pretty good chance we would have no Jacob because she wouldn't need him to fix the bikes so she could hear the voice and we would have no Cullens and Volturi because Bella would not have jumped off the cliff in order to hear it

And the voice she hears is mearly her imagination, she is thinking of all the times Edward protected her and that would all lead back to that promise. I think she's hearing the voices because she misses him so much. Obviously, like I said before, he should have thought before a he did anything. Or she's hearing her own thoughts and they come out as Edward's voice. It's like one part of her mind is telling her to go back and the other part is telling her to go farward and hear Edward's lovely angered voice.
There is a part of Bella that feels that Edward is still with her even though he said it is as if he never existed. In actuality they have such a strong connection that even though they may be apart they have a piece of each other. That's why she has that pain in her chest, she isn't whole.
She hears his voice in her head when she is facing danger or doing something stupid because she never really believed that Edward had stopped loving her. A tiny bit of her believes that he would want to save her if she was in trouble.

although the voice may ar may not be real, i think it could ethir way. the reason of that its real is because, if it was a figment of her imagination she would bring it back at any point in time. although it could be fake because only bella can see and hear him.

i love the idea of how when she does something reckless his voice comes back, it gives her something to keep going, and when i was readking it i kept thinking he was there watchin her all the time like that time when she was in the alleyway with the would have been rapists, and keep hoping he's going to save her at one point, every time i read new moon i keep thinking it :L i think its going to be soo good shown in the movie, im so excited, already got my premier seats for the first viewing ;)

Psychologically speaking, there is situations where when someone experiences extreme emotional trauma (which could be a break up like what's seen here) that it can cause someone to hear voices or experience hallucinations.
I get the impression from the book that this is used to illustrate that Bella's own subconscious is trying to tell her that Edward does love her, and that regardless of what she thinks, he always will .. and that this is the only way for it to do that.

well... i was sooo happy i almost cried when i read about the vioce and even thought it was really Edward that maybe he didn't leave and he was watching her from somewhere, but then i realized it wasn't that way T.T ... well i love the voices and i think it was a really dramatic and depressing way to remember Edward but i was sooo adicted to them just like Bella became, they were necesary, they made her keep going with her life, the vioce was really necesary!

as far as we know, edward doesn't have the power of projection. i think that what happened with edward's voice was a reaction very similar to what some people experience when a loved one dies. they have episodes of hearing the voice of that person as a subconscious reminder of something in their present life. it doesn't mean she's crazy, just that she is holding on. she can suppress her feelings as much as possible, but the memories would always be in the back of her head

I think Bella still loves Edward and even though she doesn't believe it Edward loves her to so I love the voice it tells you as long as Bella does something crazy and stupid Edward will always be watching out for her.
SPOILER: If Bella never hears that voice there's a pretty good chance we would have no Jacob because she wouldn't need him to fix the bikes so she could hear the voice and we would have no Cullens and Volturi because Bella would not have jumped off the cliff in order to hear it

I think she's hearing the voices because she misses him so much. Obviously, like I said before, he should have thought before a he did anything. Or she's hearing her own thoughts and they come out as Edward's voice. It's like one part of her mind is telling her to go back and the other part is telling her to go farward and hear Edward's lovely angered voice.

There is a part of Bella that feels that Edward is still with her even though he said it is as if he never existed. In actuality they have such a strong connection that even though they may be apart they have a piece of each other. That's why she has that pain in her chest, she isn't whole.
