i read about this in a book by Robert Kiyosaki. where a young boy mowed lawns for the summer and saved a few hundred dollars to buy golf clubs. but instead of spending the money his father advised him to find another way to fund his clubs w/o using his work money. he bought a vendor for 200 and with the profit, he multiplied his assets. he bought so many vendors he was able to put himself through college
