Yoshi's Island is probably my favorite game of all time, and these speedruns are just amazing. I too was disappointed by Yoshi's Island DS - as a standalone game it's above average, but it lacks so much of what made the original great. The level design, the style in general - I really do wish they had just made more levels for Yoshi's Island.
I wish there was some sort of way for Nintendo to even consider getting the original team together for a proper sequel. The last decade and a half has been nothing but mistreatment (Yoshi's Story, Yoshi's Island DS, and the countless other Yoshi's Island ripoffs) to Miyamoto's commercially unsuccessful baby. :(
@trihex Aww, come on, Yoshi's Story was cool. And Yoshi's Island DS is a VERY challenging and fun game (with very bad music, baring it's overused main theme). Maybe you should give 100% speedrunning a try in it. You're very good, and it could be fun. I've personally completed the original YI 100%, even the GBA levels, but DS has some levels that will just tear a guy up.
Man, I can't imagine how frustrating this one must have been if you messed up. Crazy! Also, don't forget that the previous two videos (4-3 and 4-2) had problems with audio syncing. Nice work!
I must be too easy to please, for I found nothing wrong with YIDS other than how FREAKING IMPOSSIBLE SOME LEVELS WERE.
