Those fare gates and the ticket vending machines at the BART stations were built by Cubic Transportation Systems (which also furnished the Automatic Fare Collection [AFC] system for NYC Transit).

I like how no-one cheated the system by going through the open 'gate' on the far left without putting their ticket through...
