great video, very throughtful and well said. a simple and effective approach. in light of that, i hear the same sentiments and i see it as more of criticism ( whether justified or not) and less to do with actually anti-american sentiments...i think you can dislike something without being agianst it in the sense of the word anti. the same is true for criticism. to be anti implies a raw hatred which is i;m guess what anti americanism is based upon. therefore i dont think criticism isn't anti
i guess to continue my point, i was told by friend that i should go to more Pro -american books for reading on history.( which implyies that my books which are issued by the schools are anti) i can understand where he is coming from but i think if you want to really see america as great country( which it is) then you have to view everything it does in non baised light. In my opinion neither Pro nor anti works, both are baised...
Very intelligent response! When an American attacked me simply because I am British the other day, I could have responded with a comment based on stereotypes of Americans. But the truth is every country has assholes, and I know better than to generalise an entire nation! I love that youtube has made it possible for us to interact internationally + hopefully chipped away at some generalisations and assumptions.
I've even fallen in love with an American, and I've learnt so much through him!
Why thank you! And you and I seem to be on the same page with international relations... lol. And congratulations (however late they may be) on finding love! That's what life is all about. (queue Beatles music)
haha.. what can I say.. oh, he's my baby's daddy btw.. so that makes you my baby's uncle.. (kidding of course but when my beast is bad, i threaten to send him to his house) LOLOL
Hmmm... that means I get to spoil the kid, and when he gets tired or cranky, I get to give 'em back! (I don't just play an uncle on YouTube, I am one in real life... lol)
hhahaha.. well, the problem isn't being spoiled,, it's that he's a teenager (16)... he eats and grunts..as long as you stock food and understanding grunting... everyone will be okay. LOL
Well, as most people who know be will sure attest, I am fluent in Gruntish, and there is always plenty of food around. That's part of my problem... easy access to snacky cakes. lol
Hey! I've been to Ohio once... it was long ago. For some reason, I thought it would be a good idea to quit my job, pack up my car, and drive straight through from Boston to Youngstown non-stop to meet some people I used to chat with on AOL (we are going back to AOL v3.1 here). I was gone for 3 weeks, and stopped in Jersey on the way back. It was one hell of a trip. Just to give you an idea of how much of an Internet addict I am, I brought my desktop PC with me. lol
Of course, that didn't really answer your question... Hmmm... well, train is prolly cheapest considering the cost of transit and shipping is increasing exponentially and daily. :D
The dancing was da'shizzle and your reasoning is sound.
And all under 3 minutes, WOW!
Seriously, you're right. There are too many colors on the rainbow to point at it and blame it for being yellow. So any time I see that kind of comment, my immediate assumption is that they are only seeing one color.
...Okay, this metaphor is hurting my head. Time for ice cream.

Very well put. You can't take over 300 million people and start making generalisations.

I'm glad you enjoyed the chair dancing... lol
You posed a very interesting question, and I have enjoyed following the resulting dialog. Thanks for throwing it out there! :)
Enjoy the ice cream!
