I was in my mid teens growing up in NYC during the 70's, and Punk was exploding...WNEW-FM ( Vin Scelsa ) would play new artists..we would sneak in to see them...saw Blondie at Max's,CBGB, The Palladium.(PSG, Ramones, Robert Gordon, even Sid's last show)...I last saw Debbie H at the Midway Diner before it closed ...she's still hot...Thanks for the vids..this is when music was exciting!!
Amazing to hear the beginning of Blondie, and Punk itself. I love how they take a fast song and amp it & ramp it up more.... I bet Debbie had this song memorized as it was from her youth. (she was just 30 here) Early on, I kinda like how she forgets the lyrics on some songs...and the band was so bad, I can see why Patti Smith didn't want to be on the same bill as Blondie;.... it just shows practice makes perfect. By the time 1980 hit, they had been together for 5.5 years. Thanks Ihasch!
@kennethj1956 I think Patti felt threatened by DH, that she may steal her "Punk Chick "Thunder. Females are ULTRA sensative when it comes to those rare Women that have both phisical beauty and raw sex appeal, and are aware of the effect it has on men. It would have been apparent to her that DH had both, and that DEbbie also had that unique "X" factor. Ya don't want someone like DH singing on the same ticket as you are, if your a Female Rock singer trying to make it big.

I remember hearing that this song was on their early setlists, glad to finally hear what their version sounded like. It's a little gonky, but cute.
