AUC (American University of the Caribbean) - My Experience

Not bad. I did my residency in FL but I'm from CA. I had to do it out of state because CA wants you to graduate before they give a CA letter to give to CA residencies. Unfortunately, I graduated 2 months before residency started so I had to find another state or miss a year....not.

Its a real shame AUC is probably not going to renew their contract with Waterford Regional. I really wanted to do my 3rd year there. Looks like London will have to suffice haha.

No, you go to the school to become a doctor.

To go to Europe was completely our choice. We had several couples that were married that wanted to go. I wanted to see how socialized medicine worked. I also knew it was a once in a lifetime opportunity. I've very glad I went. Some of the best times I've ever had.

Education was good but you must be self motivated. You have to initiate a lot. Good luck.

I'm starting in May.. just concerned though.. why did you do your rotations in Ireland? Did you want to or you had to? I really want to do mine in the States

I followed the same path as you about 8 years earlier. I loved my experience, and loved training in Ireland at Waterford Regional Hospital. I currently practice critical care in Florida. I wish I could do it again!

I'm currently in an OB/GYN residency in FL. Hopefully I'll be getting back to San Diego when I'm done.
