What was good about this video? You didn't list anything more than what each tab generically states. Why don't you setup an Active Directory, then show all of us the way it actually connects by typing information inside of each field? Do you use FULL DNS names or just the host names? How do you set permissions on the shares you create for the Active Directoy shares? You got 10 mins worth of time for creating vids, you can properly show all of these things within 5 mins.
I missed something along the line... when I go to add an extent, I have nothing in my "disk device" drop down, even though I've created a UFS volume and it's displayed on the left. Did I miss a step somewhere?
@squirreljester2 Disk Device is for unallocated drives (drives that are not part of a volume). If you want to export a particular drive with iSCSI, make sure it isn't part of an existing volume first.
Good video, to bad it doesnt work... My FreeNAS gives errors on the console after starting the iSCSI services and my Windows 7 box say fails to connect... I'm running FreeNAS 8.2
@SuperWebCrawler Please report your bug at forums.freenas.org so we can figure out what's wrong, and prevent this problem for you and other users in the future. There isn't a FreeNAS 8.2, that's the underlying FreeBSD version of your build (all FreeNAS 8.x releases so far have been based on FreeBSD 8.2). When you report your bug, include the last line from the System Information page, that lists "FreeNAS Build", as well as as much of your system specs as you can.
@macimeister You're using the file extent to share storage provided by the volume. Volumes contain the storage resources managed by FreeNAS that are used for the various services (except device extents, which export the whole disk without going through a volume).
If you have any more questions, feel free to ask them on the forums at forums.freenas.org.
Thankyou! I spent ages trying to figure out how to set this up. Very clear instructions

Am I missing something The share folder keeps asking for username and password, I've used all that I've set in Freenas Admin pass and users.

Add extent: Your path to the extent must reside inside a volume/dataset mount point.
Why?
