How can you consider this a legitimate speed run if you cheat through half of it?

@EricJohnsonHall This IS a legitimate speedrun by SDA standards. I don't use any cheat codes, or external tools to manipulate the game. I made full use of every part of the game, including glitches and bugs, which is perfectly fine for a speedrun - and also the norm!

Glitchless speedruns are a legit seperate / side category, not the only category. Personally I don't really enjoy making glitchless runs as you are just performing stuff everybody have seen before on their own playthrough.

Why did you wait on the boxes for the suitor after the library? Surely running straight past him would be faster?

@JamesCFraser I wasn't able to get past him without waiting at the time of recording, though I have a sneaking suspicion that it may be possible, and now that I can do test runs with load & save I can experiment with more risky strategies. I will be improving this run in the future anyway.

@GuyNamedBob Fair enough. I'm surprised you've had trouble getting past him by running straight by - it's the only way I've ever gotten past him as I got impatient after dying to him twice when trying to be stealthy :-P.

@JamesCFraser Found a quicker way just now for completing the level, which completely skips the monster (and in fact, now the run has no monsters that can hurt you in it at all :P).

15s, I think I can :P .

1-8-12s can be saved if you run into Basile(suitor)

2-The cell, you can target the horn and also let the last turn finish by himself. max 2s saved

3-The donjons, you can put the box in the first section(left) no need to get the box to the right section so jump before the little connection and do the pipe glitch while running forward about 5s+your 6s mistakes

4-Also I've almost succeed to get through the wall(bookshelf) in the library, can you take time to check this out.

How did you find these glitchers?

@wako407 Lots of testing and knowledge about the glitches and how they work. I guess it helps that I actually found a number of them. There are one or two that didn't make it into this run, as they are either far to difficult to perform for an insignificant time gain, or were obsoleted by the tricks shown.

what happend when you hit the wall with the shovel? does the game skip a bit?

@navayti It skips the crusher room, which is easily a minute or so long.
