So true!... I'd include everything that constituted our amazing rich culture that is reflected in these movies... but going back to food - our food was so natural, so delicious, healthful... having lived abroad I was waiting to visit home and eat our food, but ... I did not realize how pervasive changes for the worst were - even food got bad, all this imported junk is everywhere. ( and this is just one of the least bad changes)...anyways, thanks for the comment
True, the food that was in SSSR has gone forever...welcome to the junk from america, turkey, poland and so on...changes after USSR colapced are horrifying, drug addicts, homeless kids and udults in huge numbers, HIV, i've been just watching news and documentaries about that problem...it's very very sad...heartbreaking...
Yes, it is, as we say in Russian "serdtze krovyu oblivaetsya" looking at what's going on to the nation, ethnos, culture, people, mentality... I cannot watch/hear the news...I cannot believe what they've done ( and doing) to once wonderful and truly great country. I feel so much pain and sorrow for my country... a very helpless and, probably, irreversible situation, because those who induced these changes benefit from it greatly and will continue their evil job. But ludei zhalko uzhasno...So sad.
Agree with you 100%. I haven't been in Ukraine in 5 years, I'll probably get a cultural shock when I go there. I miss Ukraine greatly but can't stay more than 2 months at a time. Kak govoritsya nostalgiya rasseevaetsya ochen bustro. There organizations that help homeless kids in russia I want to look into some contribution/donation once I have smth to contribute. I think this is the way to help Ukraine/Russia. S miru po nitke nasobirat na klubok.
I haven't been in Ukraine for 17 years, and I don't think I will visit it any time soon or even ever. It's not the country I lived in. It's something so different that I hardly would want to live there. We, who moved to Israel got lucky. First of all more than 20% of people in Israel speak Russian and we got the food exactly the same taste as itw as in USSR. It took us a decade to make the food like in USSR, but now every Russian shop sell everything with the taste as it was in USSR.
I would not talk from behalf of everyone, but ordinary people have a simple life, with their ups and downs, but with stability, which we will never have now. Everyones life was predictable. First you go to kindergarten, than to shool, universita or army and than you always have a job place waiting for you. And in the end you are pansioner and have stable, normal life. Now you can't plan your life even on next year. Nobody knows what could happen. Life stopped to be a safe place.
