  • my tv came with an hdmi cable, so im all set

  • Ethernet and USB for what?

  • it fuckin takes u an hour just to open the dam box

  • What model number is this?

  • You got ripped off buying that Sony HDMI cable. You couldve gotten a similar quality one from monoprice for $8 shipped!

  • hey your desk mat thing is the wrong way the flsp goes under the desk just flip it

  • Oh I know :D

  • You paid way too much.

I bought mine for 67.99 (open box) three days after B days.

  • Nice player I wish I could've get that one, but I got the Sony Bdp S-360 for my birthday I love it.

  • The Magnavox player is more durable and is quiter.

  • Yeah, this thing crapped out after using it once a week for a month. I called around Best Buy and Insignia, they kept pointing fingers at each other.

    So there it sat.

Today, 6 months later, i got curious. Cracked it open, pulled the drive, and installed it to my PC. Drive works, but cant play blu-ray due to lack of software. Soooo....this POS just met the tough end of my MAG light about 10 minutes ago. Now it's no longer staring at me silently from my entertainment center. I win.

  • I got rid of it and got a PS3 Slim

  • There is blu-ray playback software for the PC such as Total Media Theater and PowerDVD. You shouldve at least tried the trials of those programs to see if it wouldve worked. Oh well at least now its a "hot" coaster lol.

  • why didn't you install a blu ray player on your mac?

    oh wait, you can't.

  • Why would I need to install a Blu-Ray player on my mac if I already have a PS3 for blu-ray?

    Oh wait, I wouldn't.

  • Cool review man, but i got a question does it still work? I read some reviews where they say it crapped out weeks after buying it, has urs done so? I'd appreciate ur response, i am planning on getting this player tomorrow but want to make sure it works well first, thanks!

  • Truth be told, I took it back and got a PS3 Slim, but when I did own it, it worked excellent!

  • Haha Awesome Thanks i think if all goes well ill be gettin it tomorrow, So how long did you keep the player?

  • Did you get any games?

i would recomend Uncahrted 2 and mondern warfare 2 for starters

  • i just got this blu ray player for 50 dollars today, it was clearanced at bestbuy for some reason, they even threw in a 2 year replacement warranty for me for free... i got a small room so i got a 26" insignia lcd tv and now bd insignia player... definitely awesome...

  • I have 32"inch Insignia LCD HDTV and This Insignia BD Player , i must say i'm very pleased with Insignia Products they are very affordable and they make good products value .

  • nice review bro

  • lol what kind of blu ray player brings standard av cables LMAO

  • they all do. I know...Stupid huh

  • This is the one that I have & it is fine.

  • Do any Blue ray players comes with an HDMI cable in the box? If so, which brand?

  • How much for the HDMI cable? Don't mean to come off as spamming but check MONOPRICE (dot) com for buyer's remorse, perhaps. :-| It's just well known around the AV forums -- so you know next time. I've not made the HD leap as of yet but your setup is coming along nicely. Enjoy! :))

  • wow $150

my bestbuy sells the same one for $99

  • yeah..thats cause it went on sale after I bought it... I'm going to get my 50 bucks back today :)

  • yeah tell me about it!

  • hey, is the dvd play good at all. was it worth the money?

  • yeah its really good, but not as good as Blu Ray obviously... I think that it was definetley worth the money! Of you want to buy it I would strongly recommend buying it now, cause Bestbuy has it on sale for only 100 bucks!

  • ok man thanks. so the insignia blu ray isnt as good as a 200 dollar bluray player?

  • Blu Ray is Blu Ray if you would buy Sony, Samsung, or LG versus this Player you wouldn't be getting much of a better Blu Ray Player. Your really paying for the name. If you were going to go with a high dollar player I would suggest Sony because they are the original creators of Blu Ray High Def. Insignia is also a great brand that is exclusive to Bestbuy. What kind of TV, and how big would you hook up your Player too can I ask?

  • i have a samsung 32 inch. its only for my room. its like yours but urs was a little bit more then mine, prob the better one i guess. i bought the transformers movie and it looks just like the hd version i have :-/

  • If you had like a Samsung LED than def. go with a Higher end Blu Ray Player, I'm thinking about returning this one and getting a new Sony PS3 Slim when they come out of Sept. 1st. You should be good with this one though

  • the higher end players get automatic firmware updates that's why there more expensive but as in pictue quality there all the same

  • actually LG manufactures the parts for this player. So its bascially an LG blu-ray player with Insignia with its name on it.

  • i use my ps3 as a blu ray player

  • cool man! I had a PS3 a while back, but it broke on me :(
