Praise God that May 21 2011 wasn't judgement day, because I would have been in serious trouble. Praise God for HIS timing! He has called me back to his flock, and even though I fail every day, he is working with me and through me every day! I don't know if I'll ever get this right, but I think its a lifelong journey, and HE is patient and kind and understanding... and that's the kind of love that a sinner like me needs! I am weak, but HE is STRONG!
I am blessed, Joel was my camp counselor my first year at church camp. It was about 27 or so years ago and I had just finished third grade. He was also the music leader at the camp... surprise, surprise. I still love their music and it still speaks to me after all these years. They have a way of speaking truth AND making quality music that stands the test of time, and I am grateful... Oh, and Joel had a mullet back in the day, sorry, but its true. ;)
I love how the description says MAY 21 2011 IS JUDGMENT DAY! haha well it's July 2, 2011...... well Bob Saget! (sorry for my language) I missed it!! lol :P
(for anyone who hasn't caught on, the term "Bob Saget" is used as a slur word)
I LOOOOOVVVVEEEDDDD these guys and this whole album when I was a teenager...I knew every word of every song!!! Even today they are still just as amazing!! They should have been big stars!

So great that there was at least once a christian band who made it more about the music and less the message. The only thing around today like that is Impending Doom. Music is about music, preach your gospel bullshit when you get off the stage.
Geez don't the video posters monitor their boards? You get so many wackos that say such demonic things.
If you have a problem with the gospel, then you are listening to the wrong music. PFR was a Christian band which means they believed in The Gospel. Your comment is blasphemous and disrespectful. May God have mercy on your soul.
My friend, we are in the world. Expect to hear and listen to what the world has to say, and try to understand where they're coming from, then take the opportunity to share Jesus with them. Don't focus on the language. Instead, try to hear the heart of the person. Don't "clean the fish before you catch it". I find that people who say such offensive, bitter things, deep down may be truly hurting and in need of a savior.
Yaak, you obviously aren't listening to the words they are singing. Otherwise you'd realize that PFR isn't talking about physical rain. They aren't literally in a desert, praying for physical water. I think I'll pray for rain to come to you as I can see you need it desperately. I think the fact that a gospel of love and forgiveness bothers you so much should tell you something.
This is a great song. One of my favorites. i had the cd Great Lengths but we had some Polish people working where I work and I loaned them a cd player with the cd in it. I got the cd player back but not the cd.. I'm glad they enjoyed the music. and I am not complaining. PFR is a very good group.

I would suggest listening to something else besides Christian Music if you're so worried about being presented with the gospel.

Since when did the First Amendment , or any edict granting freedom of speech, not apply to music?

If a band doesn't share gospel or other things like that, then what makes it a christian band?

the intro reminds me of the Police. These guys are the most underrated christian band of all time.

true that

@finsfannumerouno
PFR, Steve Taylor, the early Jars of Clay, and The Waiting. All of them need more attention.
JosaS14 8 months ago
@finsfannumerouno No... probably THE greatest Christian band of all time. Followed by "Horrendous Disk/Alarma" era, Daniel Amos.
