  • Don't you morons know that without the axle this test is pointless! It is an incomplete structure without the axle.

  • ???????does having carbon forks make your fixie ride smoother???????

  • @bizcet No the ''shock-wave'' travels up the forks more harder than standard steel 'raked' forks, Thus alot of road users who have carbon forks get tingling hands caused by the constant vibrations which travel straight up 'straight forks'.

  • well.....................okay

  • When I worked at my first bike shop in the '80s we used to stomp the rear triangles of frames we threw out in order to keep people from climbing the fence and making a mess out of our dumpster looking for "goodies".

  • I swear to god.... You people get stupider every day.

  • the bar that connects to he frame was bent

  • I recently tried this on a 500g carbon fork that had some minor damage. I was going to put it in the garbage but also wanted to discourage someone from trying to salvage it. I jumped and jumped on it but could only knock off the clearcoat. It went into the garbage bag whole.

    It was an eye-opener.

  • @hagenar apparently you can just add layers of carbon fibre and epoxy over the crack and good as new..just adds a bit o weight but gets really solid just like new.

  • must be cracked in the 1st place....

  • I believe in carbon fiber frames, but for me, the fork has to be Chrome-Moly.

  • @AviationMetalSmith Dude, with carbon fiber all you have to do is get a nano tech weld and thing is STRONGER.

It must suck sniffing your asshole all day.

  • @Goethewrote I resent that remark. By the way, you can't weld carbon. You COULD wrap the fork arms with carbon/epoxy, and the result would be stronger, but epoxy works at room temperature, it's not welding. And when I say "For Me," the fork has to be chrome-moly, that's because I weigh 275 pounds, I wouldn't trust a carbon fork.

  • Nothing new. Carbon seems to be strong. But in fact carbon is strong only in one direction (tensioning). Squeezing carbon goes very bad. For comparision: metal is also capable of squeezing, torsion. Did you see those huge bottom brackets/ headtubes from carbon? Never wonder "why they are so huge"? Marzocchi had an idea to introduce carbon MTB fork (Bomber RAC). But it was to risky. Project abandoned. Please note that fork on the video had metal inserts. And? Carbon broke first.

  • What would you do that you hunk of crap!

  • It's only carbon wrapped.

  • FAKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the paint came off and you can see its sliver underneath 0:03

  • @ahs2015

    OMFG FAYUK AND GHAYYYY!!!11!!11!!!!1!!!

  • No life!

  • Why?!

  • идиоты

  • Un vero spreco!

  • that wasnt carbob

  • Why is everyone getting so upset and angry at this? It's only a bike fork

  • @plumtomato0305 because of the sheer stupidity displayed in the video?

  • It's ain't no carbon. It's carbon coated aluminium.

  • Awww boo hoo hoo, he broke a bike fork. Why are people getting upset?

  • I guess some ppl crap gold nuggets?

  • @the26thhour Yes, the twerp's parents.

  • useless

  • He broke the fork, but I broke his mom in..

  • is it just me or does the steerer look a bit bent?

  • You people are retards. "OMG! That's not a proper fork test!"

The fork was previously damaged. Look at all the missing paint from the aluminum crown. The carbon was also likely already chipped or scratched. He wrecked it because it had no value and would have been a danger to someone who tried to use it.

  • are you stupid?

  • y would we want 2 know how 2 break a carbon fork

  • You should have givin that to me

  • so stupid

  • Your test is irrelevant to real-life riding. Our son hit a car at 25mph and the carbon was fine. A steel fork would never have survived that. He's still riding the same bike now 10,000 miles later.

  • so stupid

  • i want to hurt you.

  • why are you doing this ??

  • wat a waste of £1000 there dick head

  • if it was cracked all he had to do is get some of that stuff they wrap on yur arm to make a cast .. Good as new after that .. infact maybe better then new ,, more strenths

  • you are the most intelligent person on the planet!!

  • Haha I work at a bike shop and the guys and I broke 3 carbon fiber forks for the hell of it. (The forks were already cracked)

  • @yahoo703

Which bike shop must we all steer the hell clear of (prick)?

  • OMG OMG OMG !!!!!! That's so sad.

  • Thats why you use a triple crown 25lb. downhill fork. lol. But really, if there wasn't something wrong with it already then you are an idiot.

  • @kjd1998 what the dif bettween doubel and triple?

  • thats why you use chromoly :)

  • you're a moron

  • this guy is awesome because he hates on all you poor fagots. Some carbon forks are designed for damage resistance. NOT THIS ONE. It is designed to be lightweight and nothing else. Thats like buying a crazy expensive carbon road wheelset that states its only for riders up to 150 lbs and expecting it to be durable in any situation. Then there is the Easton Haven Carbon wheelset that comes with a 2 year no questions asked warranty. Peace out bitches

  • @rx7addict i like you!

  • fuck you dick head if you wernt such a ritch spoiled faggot you would realise how much muny you just snaped the fuck in fucking half

  • @nickmurphyrock How about the fork was fucking damaged and not useful in any circumstances? Think about that

  • u need to have someone do that to your neck and make/ post a vid on youtube of it

  • plz plz plz for the love of god tell me that the forks drop-outs or the steerer tube had already broken and it wasn't fixable anymore, and that's why you broke it .

If it was fine then you are the most retarded retard that's ever lived on this planet

  • i just started crying

  • somebodies a retarded faggot

  • Im assuming that fork had a crack or something..

if not then your a idiot

  • That was not a lot of fork at all! I'm surprised

  • what a fucking waste. you guys are fucking retarded

  • why the fuck would you do that

  • Fuck you. I could have used that.

  • me too.

  • the fork is meant to rezist to enormos presures from front to back ( bicicle mounted) i can bet if u hit it from front to back nothing would happen.

  • How much was the fork defective to begin with? Already cracked from an accident?

  • i know a doctor in my area who ran over a cat his bicycle shatered and broke 21 bones in his body

  • lol

  • And there are people who thinks that carbon is stiffer and harder then steel. Watch out for carbon problems, inspect your carbon pbike parts and be safe.

  • Carbon fiber CAN (often is) be stiffer than steel (not harder) per weight. Also CAN flex more (depending.)

  • Go watch the niner cycles video about carbon forks and trailside damage. You'll be amazed at how solid those forks are.

  • @jcsk8 your a dumbass, it is stronger than steel but they use such a thin layering of it it will snap if a duech steps on them like this

  • Your MOM is a dumbass fucker. Respect me cause I didn´t disrespected you. SOAB.

A 1 mm steel layer is five times stronger then a 1mm carbon layer. They have to made carbon thicker then steel to make it resitant. Carbon is LIGHT and absorbs impacts.

  • @jcsk8 no wtf are you talking about retard

  • @sk8er4497 About retards like you. Probably all materials engineers talking shit al all around you tube. Godamn freewill speech!

  • @bmxbikersbmx It is certainly not 'stronger than steel' altogether. It is stronger in a certain plane, i.e. when force is applied in the direction it is designed to (usually parallel to the weave). Otherwise it is brittle. Kind of like a straw when you can apply a lot of pressure straight down on it, but it is easy to bend sideways.

  • wow..powerful leg ~! next time broke it while you paddling on your bike ~!

  • Wow, your a right wanker aren't you.

  • Comment removed

  • lol awesome. It's definitely appalling seeing such a valuable piece of bike equipment destroyed like that but I assume it was fucked in the first place somehow.

  • Erm.... It does not normaly take stress that way. (Unless the front wheel is already removed, in which case your eating dirt anyway)

  • correction: eating tarmac

  • @dave4mel he needs physics classes .... mechanics classes and a single 'get a f...n life' VIP class ! ! !

  • WTF!!?// are you joking?! do you know how much that is worth...

you did this just to make a youtube...? get a life.

  • @xhilr8d agree

  • @xhilr8d

Apparently, if he can afford to do that, he doesn't have to worry about money.

  • I would say those forks cost at least $300.

  • @xhilr8d

About 70 dollars on sale at Performance.

  • dude chill out it had a crake

  • Looks like they work in a shop, I do and we did this to a nice $300 carbon fork because the dropout had a hairline crack and to prevent future use we destroyed it. but I got a feeling these guys are just tools.

  • @xhilr8d Read Description Before Commenting.. Yeah?

  • @xhilr8d You Obviously Did NOT Read the Description DUMBASS!!!!

  • @xhilr8d it was a damaged fork. get over it.

  • WOW! wtf man
