I confirm: tuning gears work perfectly (and the graphite nut greatly helps to reduce the friction, maintaining tuning stability even after intensive bending).
I've seen a lot of reviews for this guitar, it seems that the tuning machines are a major problem. Will have to replace them if I ever thought of getting it.
Mark, your jazzy chordal work is outstanding ! Thank you for this great review. You put this guitar in the right perspective. I own a JA-90 Telecaster and cannot but confirm its versatility in tone and playability. Of course this guitar can do all the dirty jobs as well (from 50's Chicago blues to classic rock, to punk, indie etc.), but the the clarity and articulation, even with complex chords, are definitely plus points. Mine has a flatter radius, though (12 approx.).
You are correct 24.75" Scale Length

Should have played some Jimmy Eat World instead of the blues. That's coming from a blues fan.

Nice combination of Les Paul features and Tele body, especially with the chamber.

I wouldn't mind outfitting this guitar with a Humbucker in the bridge, but the guitar sounds bloody brilliant regardless.
Don't think the chambering would work well with what I play, Hollow bodies tend to not sound good with high gain, in my somewhat limited experience.

Great job as usual Mark. I really enjoy your reviews. That's also one of the best Telecaster models I think I've seen!
