I can't stand Northern Leasing. A salesman had me sign the contract saying he will take out the machine anytime, if i'm not happy. After 1 month, I was unhappy with the fees I'm being charged.
I pay $69 a month plus taxes, insurance, and top of that, they debited 80$ for property taxes in the beginning of the years.
I'm in a 4 year contract, and can't get out. I asked if theres a fee I can pay to get out, and they told me it's $4000. My business is barely making it as it is.
You get thirty days to answer back a summons if your out of state. For any help with forms and procedures, call the new york clerk's office. They are a really big help.
Also, if there is a judgement against you, you can vacate it for up to one year. You can get the form for it at the new york court website under civil court, representing yourself. Double check on if they actually filed it. If it is not filed then it is not enforceable. Also look up when they actually file any legal actions against you from when a judgment is rendered. they have been known to forge the affidavit of service, papers saying that you have received the summons.
If you want to take this advice, take it. I'm not a lawyer...
If they got your business by a door to door salesman. Look up the new york door-to-door protection act, new york personal property law article 10a. Leases and contracts applies.
Northern Leasing took over $450.00 out of my checking account in four months. I did not sign any agreement with them. I lost my son and was not able to check my bank statements. When I did findout they were using my bank account, I called the company and was told I could not cancelled the contract, I said I didn;t sign-it's a forgery. I filled out their forgery papers and they said it wasn't fraud. I filed case with Wash Co Sheriff's Office, USPostalService and Va AttGen.Sam Harris
This corporation also forges signature, I signed a contract with Central Payment for a credit card machine, gave them a voided check for money to be put in this account. Instead they take out what they want to.. We cancelled with Central Payment and they accepted the cancellation, then the next thing I knew they had forged my signature on 4 new contracts for different companies. All this was coming out of my checking account each month. I never signed with Northern Leasing..
they got me too, forced me to change banks, sued me in new york, filed on my credit, and got lots of letters from their BS non regestered lawyers.
they get their rocks off from calling and making you upset from the threats they tell you.
they are a nice peace of work, think no one in todays time will do any thing to them, i say someone needs to go to new york and torch the place during business hours, it would not bother me a bit if that happened.
There is a class action lawsuit now in effect against them and they are required to provide letters to all people who have signed a lease with them since 1999 that they might be overcharged. I still have yet to receive it. They recently had two seniors come to my house and serve me. They didn't give it to me, I wasn't home and never asked for a signature. On top of that it was dated beginning of June it's the end of July. They are the worst company I've ever seen and are incredible slimy.

well my dear there is not much we can do unless a law suit is files against them , seeings how they prey on small people the funds to do such a thing are not there, That is the sad thing about this country ,,,

Thank you Sir , The real EDR Merchant services is good , they just had a person claiming to be them and that is what people need to know . These people also say they are affiliated with Bank of Americia and they are not.northern leaysing systems inc is third party.
A good lawyer is what is needed, Although the cost is not afordable to the little person at times. EDR did the right thing, it was northern leasing systems, Inc that took it to court anyway. Knowing it was fruad.
