The Kaabah, (black box is a Mosque) is a point of unity for ALL Muslims of every color, creed, nationality, sex, rich and poor to dress alike in a pure white cloak and stand before God.

In Makkah for all Muslims the soul is spiritually enlightened, purified and is at peace. The worldly temporaries we leave behind in our countries are meaningless and artificial and the weeks spent in Saudi are in pure devotion, repentance, solitude to the creator - Allah swt.

I went to Hajj along with Umar Ibn Khattab during initial period of his Caliphate. Umar Ibn Khattab came to mosque and stood near Hajar-e-Aswad and then addressed it with these words: "I know you are only a stone, which can neither benefit, nor harm. And had I not seen Rasool Allah (saw) kissing you, I would have never kissed you"

The prophet Muhammad pbuh kissed it out of respect, as it was sent on Earth by our creator. It will be SHIRK - unforgivable to worship it.

@kingbleah The rock is Hubal or allah as worshiped by mohamed's family and himself. He grew up worshiping Hubal, later he changed it to allah. It is meteorite worship.

@kingbleah We do not worship the rock/meteorite thing. If you're talking about the huge black cube structure, it is called The Kaaba. It is the site where Muslims direct their prayer towards as it was revealed by God in the Quran. Its for the unity of Muslims so people don't pray everywhere and there is one unity among Muslims when they pray.

Kaaba is just a sacred mosque that's all, we direct our prayer toward it but we pray to Allah (swt) God.

A modern Muslim scholar is of the opinion that growing beards might be encouraged, but it is NOT mandatory in Islam. He argues 1 " that Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, had reasons for his time only, 1400 years ago, to address his companions to grow beards and this doesn't mean that these reasons have to exist today. Islam is a rational religion.

If growing beards was mandatory in the Noble Quran, then we would have nothing to argue about. But guess what it does not say it in the Quran therefore it is not mandatory.....If the prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said it, it is recommended not mandatory....If a muslim has a bear and no mustache DOES NOT MEAN he is more of a muslim....therefore you do NOT need a beard brother...thank you
