Anita is an amazing singer. Gene, put Animal in a suit and yea.. Unleashed. :-) Roy, hard to name anyone who even gets close. I actually have this on cd :-) Nice to find a video. :-) thanks for uploading.

Born (Anita Belle Colton), Anita O'Day will always be remembered with all the other great Jazz artists of that time frame such as Helen O'Connell , Helen Forest , Dinah Shore and the late great Billie Holiday , her style and charisma and music will always be the epitome of who she was.

Anita, at the height of her swing period, all of 22 yrs. old, and upstaging the great Roy Eldridge. An amazing short for it's time pairing a white singer with a black trumpeter. And Krupa beating out the swing effortlessly.
Do people of today realize what great artists these folks were? Timeless.

FANTASTIC!!! I have been playing trumpet for 35 years and have ALWAYS admired Roy Eldridge. I was fortunate to have met him several times when he played Chicago. Thankfully I also met Anita when she played Chicago. She graciously autographed her book to me. These two artists were just SO amazing! I have listened to this song many times over the years and now it is so nice to see it performed! Thanks so much for posting!!!!!!
