I have watched my four core phenom 9950 B.E. on an MSI 780 board with DDR2 and the cpu playing crysis never get above 30% usage with maxed out graphics

The x6 1100T is faster than the i5. It's also faster than the i7 940 and Intel Xeon X5667. Go with the Phenom and still have enough money for the rest of your computer parts.

@Anto395Productions The Turion is a mobile (laptop) CPU, while the Phenom is a Desktop CPU. All mobile components are designed to be less powerful to generate less heat, and to keep the battery alive longer inside a laptop. Even Athlons should outpace Turions.
My brother has a laptop with a x2 Turion CPU. I'm getting a desktop in about a week or two with x3 Athlon CPU. I'll run some tests myself and see how fast both of them are.
Turions are low voltage chips meant to be used in mobile devices like laptops. If you're building or buying a desktop it will be an Athlon or Phenom processor.

My Athlon XP 2500+ (older PC, don't use it anymore) is still working. And it is overclocked to 2,10GHz. Another one of my older comps has Sempron 3300+ OC'd to 2,40 GHz still working fine. AMD is totally stable IMO. Intel is better but AMD has a better Price/Performance ratio so ... AMD FTW!!! Same goes with AMD and nVidia.

This video is absolute bullshit, the AMD's are just fresh dog shit compared to any Intel, especially the Phenom X3's were a fail at a decent cache size, the chip was too big and so they had to drop a core. Fresh dog shit entirely.

Yeah its true that AMD Phenom x3s are x4s with 1 faaulty core but the rest work fine, and they do some that are just disabled cores. I think they did fix it cos you never 2.5 ghz x3s.
not all were just faulty, some didn't live up to their standards, so they deactivated a core and sold them as triple cores. now they just do that to stock up on the triple cores since they've refined the process and now have the phenom II's.
AMD have amazing CPU names.Phenom or Athlon sound so much better than Core or Pentium.I will always go for AMD.

The X6's aren't that much better than the X4's, the Phenom II 975 is worth more than the 1090T or 1100T X6's.
Also don't waste money on Intel i7's for gaming, i5's are more than capable (especially Sandy Bridge).

My Athlon XP 2500+ (older PC, don't use it anymore) is still working. And it is overclocked to 2,10GHz. Another one of my older comps has Sempron 3300+ OC'd to 2,40 GHz still working fine. AMD is totally stable IMO. Intel is better but AMD has a better Price/Performance ratio so ... AMD FTW!!! Same goes with AMD and nVidia.

Besides ... gaming is mostly about: amount of ram (maybe put another 2GB of RAM later), the GPU (is fine just remember to overclock it), and a CPU (upgrade to Phenom II X3 Black Edition overtime, much better CPU, but yours if fine too. unlock the fourth core and OC it). You'll be gaming ... FOR SURE! BTW good mobo choise. Gigabyte overclocks like crazy. Just OC'd my friends E7300 to 3,20GHz. (on a gigabyte mobo)

Cuanto dinero puedes gastar en el procesador? Si puedes gastar hasta $90, te recomendaría el Phenom 9500. Es mucho más rapido que los otros que mencionaste por que es un Quad-Core. No te recomendaría que compres el Athlon 64—no es muy rapido ya que tiene menos memoria inmediata (cache).

for gaming,the 6000+ x2 will be alot better seeing as games can ony read 2 cores and games are more reliant on the frequency,so 3ghz is better than 2.1,but for muti tasking,go x3

Phenom1 is crap admit it, to high wattage low performance, and they cant Oc for crap.
A amd athlon 64x4 would beat the shit out of the phenom1 x4 but there is no athlon64x4 cores.

The amd much to use a bus called hyper transport, the bus makes a direct communication with the processor to memory, not so much the need to cache, because when you need some memory because of the direct her search processor, Intel implemented so that corei7 the bus, so the intel need much cache for amd.

supposedly they had a bug with the early phenom x4's so the fourth core didn't work and they sold em as tri cores (bullshit i luv AMD) and they fixed this problem with the 9850 9950 and such

Yeah its true that AMD Phenom x3s are x4s with 1 faaulty core but the rest work fine, and they do some that are just disabled cores. I think they did fix it cos you never 2.5 ghz x3s.

not all were just faulty, some didn't live up to their standards, so they deactivated a core and sold them as triple cores. now they just do that to stock up on the triple cores since they've refined the process and now have the phenom II's.
