It pains me to say this but David's voice is gone. He had a great voice back in the early 2000's, but the body of work wasn't there yet. Imagine his old voice with the new material live. I guess it would be too good for our ears.

wow, what is up with him and this song? Every performance is terrible. He's usually so strong. I have seen him live and I was very surprised how good he was. This song, to me, is one of his easier ones to sing. I wonder why it's so hard for him. Usually I can't keep up with him and on this song I can, for some reason he really struggles. They are tuned to C on guitar which is odd for them, maybe that's why

He has had a lot of trouble singing since that vocal surgery. He is good on a lot of the older songs but on some it is like he is singing too high, like you said. He did fine in the chorus on this song though.

No, the surgery was to correct a deviated septem that was forcing David to breathe primarily through his mouth drying out his vocal cords. The man is a beast but he is only human, if I had to sing that high for that long my voice would crack a few times too.
