Great video man. A small question if you can help. I dont have any experience in flying RC helicopters. I am looking to get one for mounting a small digital camera and taking the aerial flying shots. Which one would you recommend and how much experience is needed to fly one??

@kishankakarla I have no idea on recommendations, you're better off asking on an RC forum. As for experience, you need quite a bit. It takes a lot of practice just to hover with stability.

@kishankakarla Buy a simulator, learn to hover, get the experience you need to recover from any position, buy an Eflite 540 trainer helicopter, then buy a 550 size so that the helicopter can still perform with a camera attached to it (weight), expect to spend about 500.00 for your fist heli (set up with radio, batteries, receiver, etc), and for the stability you'll want for aerial photog buy a 600, expect to spend 850.00 RTF used OR $1500.00 new with the radio, helicopter, and batteries.

@Mexicaniese I'm not any expert in this regards, but i can only assume that it is because of the forces involved of having the blades invert suddenly like that are too huge on a real helicopter. Weight being a big issue. Not sure a human can stand up to this either for too long. And there is probably not any material light and strong enough for this to work.

@WaffleRaws Most chargers have a built-in trickle function. This, essentially, allows the battery to discharge a bit and then charge it back up. It prevents overcharging and overheating if left charging for too long. I guess if you left a battery charging for several days it could get damaged, but I don't know for certain. You should ask a hobby shop.

if its powered by lithium polymer and you discharge the battery under specified volts it WILL not accept charge, try charge it for a few seconds on a nicd or nimh setting then switch it back to lipo and you might be lucky, it might accept charge... but DO NOT FULLY CHARGE LIPO on this setting it will blow up

i love this routine so much learnt it on the sim (over several weeks). been flying about 2 yrs and learning 3d seriously since end of 2010. i can sometimes get through without crashing, but usually forget or mess up. i realize doing it real would be about 10x harder. copying a routine move for move is great as it forces you to learn new things. must say the filming on this flight is excellent

Go into a hobby shop and take a look at the sheer size and weight of a 600 heli. And, if you are interested in learning how to fly. Buy a Blade MSR. It's real, it's small, it rarely breaks, and it will teach you how to fly a 600. Like $130 with transmitter on ebay.

The pitch changes. The rotors always move in the same direction and at full speed. He is controlling six channels in real time. He has to reverse inputs depending on which way the helicopter is facing, inverted makes the reverse inputs absolutely insane. Most people need to think about what they are doing, which makes their reaction time slow. Alan Szabo isn't thinking. He's feeling it. I've seen other people on youtube come close, but only close to this.

I have a Trex 600 and 2 Trex 450's. Everyone that flys helicopters knows this video is real. It's not the Heli, it's the pilot. The guy is unreal. Watch his other videos. Crazy skillz. I watch him for inspiration.

The camera follows him so well because he has a routine that he regularly does. The camera man knows what he is going to do next.

The way my helicopters accelerate is unnatural. Crazy power to weight. The rotors never change direction.
