  • God bless you all im bless with it..... Praying and looking for a Music ministry to joined it.... if there be any place please do let me know it.. im a Guiter classic player and a theologian.. God fearing men.. 25years old India.. Amen...

  • Lovely video. My sister had this played at her wedding.

  • you guys are great!!!more songs please.

  • I always thought it weird that the singer should put themselves in the role of God. The singer should respectfully praise God, not assume the role.

  • An interesting point.. There is at least some

Scriptural precedent for it, tho. Most of Psalm 50, starting with v. 7, the speaker is God, berating his people for their sins. The Psalms were composed as *songs*, to be sung at the Temple. Your criticism could also be leveled at (for example) the Catholic hymn I Am the Bread of Life(I Will Raise Him Up). I am not Catholic, but I love that song & this one. Clergy or lectors often *read* passages in which God is speaking in the 1st person.

  • Point taken. I agree on The Bread of Life song and I criticize that one too, don't like it much either. On the lector thing, you are right but the lector is reading the word of God, not some sappy lyric made up by a second rate songwriter/ singer.

  • David Haas certainly isn't a second rate songwriter! As a pastoral musician, I have reflected upon this issue. I think using the words of God and singing them really help the worshiper connect spiritually on a higher level. Peace.

  • I'll stick with the Adoremus Hymnal, check it out, you might be pleasantly surprised!

  • Oh I agree with you on the beauty of the works collected in the Adoremus Hymnal. But it is important to realize that when choosing songs for liturgy, there are three judgments that must me made: Liturgical, Pastoral, and Musical. A lot of those works fit in the liturgical and musical judgment, but when it comes to taking a pastoral take on things, many times more contemporary hymns relate to the people than the more traditional. I think there needs to be a health balance. Peace.

  • I find the more contemporary hymns to be very distracting, especially when performed by really bad liturgical musicians, which in my experience is the norm in churches in these parts. Mind you ANY hymn is bad enough when left to the untalented.

  • Whooop. We have another opinionated judge here that talks like Simon. Anyway, it is always 90-10 proposition and you are part of the 10. When somebody writes something like that, we know it is not coming from a Christian.

  • Whooop. When somebody writes something like that, we the 10% know it is not coming from a competent liturgical musician.

  • Music is always subjective. Somebody will say it is not good. Other people will say it is very good. God says "if you offer it in the spirit of thanksgiving", then it is good. And he has the last say....the only judge too.

  • Get a grip. This song is a beautiful message FROM God sung by HIS followers. When you read the scriptures you are reading HIS words just as these singers are singing HIS words.

  • No, it's a crappy little ditty written by a crappy songwriter who couldn't make it in the real music business so he decided to go into liturgical music where very few, 10% hah- hah!, know anything about good music and how it's supposed to play a role in the Mass.

  • Those are great harmonies.

  • this is not constructive criticism. This is blatant hate

  • I totally agree with you !!! It would be so difficult to describe yourself, an atrocious human being, in 500 characters... !!!!

  • As the main musician for my church, I improvise on all my songs. But I must admit that I incorporate your version's harmony when I play this song. IT'S GREAT :D

  • they would always play this song at st. christopher's church at west covina =]

  • The first girl has the most beautiful voice i have ever heard in my life

  • i just listened to this song this morning and sang it formy friends funeral this morning and its so touchy...i like the song so much and i will miss my friend so much

  • I truely love this song. One of my favorites that we sing at my church. You guys totally did this song justice. (:

  • this song inspire me and give me strength when i feel down and miserable..love it very much!! thank you Lord!!

  • My wife and I used this song when our marriage was blessed by the church- one of our favorites. God is with us now.

  • SCRC - Southern California Renewal Conference is held every year in September in Anaheim Convention Center. This is where the Charismatic Catholics gather to praise Jesus. Have you heard 6,000 people sing in tongues together? Come and feel the love of God. Come and live your life governed by the Holy Spirit the Paraclete, the Sanctifier, the 3rd person of God. Praise you Jesus!

  • I love this song. It was sung at the Bacculaureate Mass when I graduated from the College Of Notre Dame of Maryland, a catholic women's college in Maryland.

This song transcends denomination lines,it is also in the United Methodist song book, The Faith We Sing.

To counteract jayboi83, have you checked out the last version of the UMC Hymnal or Faith We Sing, both have more contemporary songs. Personally I feel it not so much matters wehn the song was written but how it is sung, with joy.

  • Amen, amen! We are in the Spirit. Let us read Galatians 5:18. "But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under law".

  • love this song

  • Where is this Catholic church? My is too traditional for me with only hymms and SOMETIMES a piano :(

I want to get into my worship!!!

    God Bless :)

  • worship as in clap and dance? When was the first Mass? Last Supper right? Did the Apostles clap and dance? Is that what worship is? to feel good? to be entertained? goodness gracious.

  • Clap & dance is a form of praise. In the OT, David dance before the Lord in praise. Make a joyful noise and sing a new song unto the Lord, as the bible says.

  • Praise and worship are two distinct actions. It is a Protestant notion to combine them.

  • beautiful

  • I didn't even know this was during a Roman Catholic Mass. lol They're pretty good singers but it's hard to distinguish the Catholics from Protestants nowadays with drums, and guitars, and rock concerts during Mass. lol

    Anyway, nice song.

  • We have the same God and we are one body, one spirit in Christ. Catholic church has been using drums and guitars after the 2nd Vatican council in the mid '60s, but no rock concerts during mass. However, there is praise & worship before most charismatic masses. Music plays an important factor in our worship. Nowadays, people are looking forward into going to church.

  • i sent you a message. :)

  • theres no need to distinguish catholics and protestants, we all love jesus christ, which is all that matters.

  • Amen amen!!!!

  • That's all that matters right?... right. As long as you love Jesus and you accept Him as your personal Lord and Savior. I'm sure that's what Jesus replied to the rich man who asked Him how to get to heaven. I'm sure Jesus didn't say to follow the commandments. I'm sure Jesus didn't also say to deny ourselves and take up our cross and follow Him. I'm sure.

Relativism has drowned out the truth!! Believe whatever you want as long as you love Jesus. I'm sure that's biblical also.

  • Amen absolutely! We all follow Christ, only in different fashion. When a sheep try to separate himself from the flock, the shepherd will always look for the missing sheep.

  • @knucky15 absolutely agree!!!!!!!

  • Really?! Most mainline protestant churches are still using old tired hymns. Just pick up the Episcopal 1982 Hymnal, the Methodist Hymnal, The Lutheran Hymnal..etc. If you're comparing it to an Evangelical Church or a "non-denominational church" (as if there was such a thing), well I guess that would be a different story. But Compared to mainline protestant music, GIA and Oregon Catholic Press have them beat.

  • nice

  • We played this song at our wedding- one of our favorites

  • WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Very sweet song and very well done. God bless your group and musicians

  • Beautiful!1 we sang this at my school everytime we have mass

  • Worth listening to over and over again!

  • beautiful!!!!!! beautiful!!!
