  • Race "had not been an issue in Congress" ... so the Naturalization Act of 1790, the Indian Removal Act of 1830, the Thirteenth Amendment, the Chinese Exclusion Act of 1882, the Emergency Quota Act of 1921 and the Immigration Act of 1924, the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Voting Rights Act of 1965, Title IX, the American Indian Religious Freedom Act, AMONG MANY OTHERS, what... just slipped his mind? Or he genuinely didn't know about them? Or... what?

  • And yet, at the time he made these statements, the "greatest equal opportunity employer in America" would kick you out if they suspected you were attracted to your own sex...

  • Serial Liar. Like the majority of politicians..you people need to stop voting these lames in.

  • Of course the army is the "greatest equal opportunity employer", they don't care the colour of the skin of the men and women they send to die.

  • that was a horrible answer!!!!!!! and he is full of it. at that time race issues was at it's highest level in this country.

  • This guy is too much, the military as an equal opportunity employer? Only recently is that starting to be the case after the repeal of don't ask, don't tell. What Mccain needed to say is like most people in my generation I was raised to be a racist. And in later years I realized that everyone is a human being and everyone is equal. A simple honest answer is all we ask and Mccain can't provide it, and most likely because he's still a racist and clearly a homophobe. He's too old to be in office.

  • @fywacia you couldn't have said it better

  • Not an equal opportunity employer for gays...

  • this man is a dinosaur

  • John McCain = KKK

  • McCain = Alien grey

  • MLK is Uncle tom's negro.

  • @EgyptianPrinceCB May 19th is *not* Malcom X day - proof that America prefers her POC activists nonviolent.

  • Join the military, it is the greatest equal opportunity in the country,, at least he made that clear,, so yanky boy stop wanking and join the army, and one day your arse could end in congress or before congress, depending on what shit the military gets your equal opportunity arse in.

  • is it me or can you just tell that he is saying answers to get black voters. The shit he is saying is so commercial its insulting my intelligence. Every answer he says in this video is to win the presidency. He is not being real with himself or the interviewers what so ever. This is a "Sarah Palin" moment

  • how the hell can he be that old and not know whoDr.King is. no wonder he got his ass handed to him in the election. he is a racist dumbass just like bush.

  • A+ FOR THE INTERVIEWER IN THIS VIDEO.

"What didn't you know when you voted against it [MLK Day] initially?"

"I had not really been involved in the issue. I just had not had a lot of experience with the issue."

"I had not really been involved in the issue. I just had not had a lot of experience with the issue."

  • rckplsky:

THE REST OF YOU MOVE ON, SAVE YOUR TIME, THIS IS ONLY DIRECTED AT THIS CLOWN rckplsky :

No, you don't have access to current events issues in POW camps. John Mcain missed the newspaper article arguing that black people were, in fact, people. Around the same time, Martin was out marching, and didn't get the breaking news that whites were equal humans, not animal after all

  • Political Garbage case ex. #1:

In Arizona he probably tells people that he is proud to be the last state to honor Dr. KIng, but on TV he switches his demeanor

  • That last quote was me paraphrasing and fuckin around, this isn't :

  • Ok, so this wasn't an issue in his home state of, um, wherever, because there were no black people there.. so:

"Well i did come from the military where i come from the greatest military organization of champs in the history of militarization, however i was not involved in that issue.

  • To be fair, McCain wasn't the only guy to oppose the holiday... Reagan opposed it too, he also opposed Fair Housing Act, The Civil Rights Act, holding sanctions against apartheid South Africa, funding programs that benefited black and generally poor people, affirmative action, $ to the equal opportunity committee of the justice department, etc, etc. That's because Ronald Reagan hated everyone and everything relating to black people, say it to a Republican and they FLIP!

  • lying racist republican piece of shit. typical...

  • This shit is ridiculous...and he was supposed to be our president, lol

  • Let's not forget that McCain was in the military during the time King was part of the civil rights movement. Let's see if you have access to current events when in you're in a POW camp.

  • McCain a racist? Put yourself in his shoes. Shot down in combat, tortured daily/starved,Your sensitivity would be disconnected also.Since his release in 73', he had to re-learn basic motor skills from broken ligaments and 5 yrs of events which he missed..like the MLK assassination in 1968, his 2nd year as a POW. I'm all about civil rights but this is a B.S. argument, Obama won, leave McCain alone, he's paid enough! McCain owe us no explanation. He & Dr King have served the greater common good

  • I never said he was a racist. I'm just pointing out the fact that he most likely didn't know what was going on in the outside world during his time as a POW

  • 1. while this was just posted a month ago, the interview was recorded a year and a half ago.

    2. Why vote on something you have no knowledge on (at least try to learn what you are voting on)

    3. MLK jr started leading the civil rights movement in 1955. McCain was present for that. He was posthumously awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 1977

    4. It was not an issue, birth control is an issue, a man life and legacy for the U.S. no.

    5. The military did not become unsegregated till the 80's.

  • I see what you mean but you should dig a little deeper when it comes to the Vietnam War. To make a long story short, the American people should learn from the Germans on how to look at the ugly past. US attack against Indochina was one of the most heinous crimes in the history of the human kind. The fact that a presidential candidate can basically build his campaign on his participation in such a crime tells you a great deal about the society he is living in.

  • No, you don't have access to current events issues in POW camps. John Mcain missed the newspaper article arguing that black people were, in fact, people. Around the same time, Martin was out marching, and didn't get the breaking news that whites were equal humans, not animal after all

  • the heck??? "not being involved in the issue" is the lamest excuse i ever heard, as if he hadnt turned on a television set all that time, that would be like someone today (at age 47) 20 yrs from now saying they didnt know obama was the first black president because they were "not involved in the issue". be glad this guy didnt win! =)

  • he now responded to the ad yesterday that read ' Att: All caucasions, report to the white house lawn tomorrow morning at 7 for the now annual cotton picking orientation upon hiring.'

  • right on...and this man was running for the presidency of the United States, is an insult - Thank God he didn't win

  • @EineNeueSchuhe We have a black President???

    (Shocked Face)

  • Obama should run this as an ad after he dust mccains mummy taped ass off tuesday.

  • you fucking rascist pig...what a frigin' liar...once again the "true colors" of McSame's view of the world is revealed...his only regret when he was released from captivity was,he didn't drop more bombs...this guy is on Bush's payroll...and being the good "foot soldier",,,he will continue the NWO's agenda to start WW111......my grandkids could be killed fighting one of these useless- bullshit wars....

  • You know what, my fellow Americans? from 1865, the end of slavery, up until now, Blacks have been dying by the dozens just to be treated as equals. From the 18th to 20th century and counting when will it end? Do we need another Civil war? for some uncanny reason, white people think they are suppose to forever rule over blacks. What I can't understand is where did they get that from? especially if they call themselves Christians. Hatred begets hatred and no soul shall enter heaven with malice.

  • i agree but only up to the religious ending you threw in.

  • This shit obvious, if Obama don't win that just mean the "you know whos" just did some more fuck shit. And if that happen [mock my words] the revolution will be televised and you either ride with me or collide with me. I ain't trying to be treatening or mean but Malcom X, Dr. King, & Tupac died for it (yes I said Tupac) so I will ride for it! PEACE LOVE & RESPECT

  • TRUE!! if the obama lose the election there will be a revolution... and all individual will over throw the corrupted government! just like the 04 election that was a big set up

  • The bitch dumb as fuck too, how the hell he even close to being president of the USA when he graduated 894 of 899 in his class in school. How he even on Obama leve when Obama was on top of shit at Harvard, it ain't even close. The only reason McCain got into Congress is because the Navy ain't want his old hurt ass.

  • He full of shit. His ass was born in 1936. Dr. King was killed in 1968. In 38 years he ain't no anything about Dr. King? Fuck outta here LIAR! He just a racist liar. The man has no moral character, he left his crippled wife for his mistress (now cIndy McCain).

  • And to people who think that McCain is allowed to be ignorant: I'm 23 years old and I live in Finland (that's in Europe for the retards) and even I know who Martin Luther King was. Being abroad in prison is not an excuse, because a lot of us weren't even born back then. MLK falls in the same category with Gandhi and Nelson Mandela; people who have had a tremendous impact on the world.

  • So, not only is McCain taking credit for the militarys position on equal opportunity, but he also expects anyone with a brain to believe that he didnt know what side of the issue to support during the Civil Rights era.

Heres a bit of advice for McCain: Always bet on Black. LOL

No, but in all seriousness politicians and public figures should always err on the side of human and civil rights, but I guess McCain knows that now.

    LOL

  • obama 08

  • Mccain used to be in the KKK and eats grasshopper legs.

  • WOW this guy doesn't even know his American history! How can he become president of the U.S with lack of knowledge that even a 3rd grader is educated on. Let's just keep it real, McCain is a undeniable racist with little or no concern for the African American community. Ask him about the Grand Dragons and I'm sure "He's familiar with the issue".

  • Im not voting for mccain because i cant vote xD

  • im black, and its understandable. when dr king was killed mccain was in vietnam. i think he was a pow the time dr king was killed. obama/Biden 08

  • but..I bet you didn't know this.

Mccain still to this day uses the word "GOOK". He refuses to apologize for it, and supposedly uses it to this day.

  • but how long was dr king marching , preaching ... ??? although he was locked up MLK was oneverybodies brain then . white or black .... so he never wondered what happened to that nigger preacher ... hmmm thats beside the point.... all we are saying is that he shoulda be up on that information before now ..

  • Did he know that the US military is an EOE because of strong black people like Dr. MLK and his followers with the "help" of very rare white people that actually believe that we blacks are just as human as anyone else??? Not EOE because the "whites" wanted it that way. Because they didn't!

  • why cast a vote against something if you admit you're not even educated on the entire issue itself?

  • Cut the man some Slack. What do you expect from a man who proudly admits graduating at the bottom of a class of 700 or more.

  • LOL! So true. Sad, but true.

  • If he's good enough to be in the government and run for president he should have been up on things like this. Otherwise why did they let him in Congress?

  • DWreck39 have you lost it? McCain told ABC news in 2000 that he voted against it because was not necessary to have another federal holiday, that it cost too much money, and that other presidents would not be recognized. C'mon, he deserved whatever he got in that interview, he should have thought out his reposnse prior to answering the reporter. It was McCain's flip flop on the Holiday that won his reelection in Arizona, and at the time he was losing against Evan Mecham

  • He admitted he was wrong thats what change is about back off him. OBAMA BIDEN 08

  • The man was campaigning for votes. In his own words, he stated that he didn't know the issues. What issues, he lived through the events that transpired at that time. McCains gains no kuddos for admitting his mistakes. McCain fought far to hard against his state accepting MLK as a national holiday

  • Oh come on. Give the old man a break, guys. He grew up in a prominently white community. Plus, as someone else pointed out, he was in Hanoi during King's work in the Civil Rights Era. And admit it, you guys, some people in the US still don't recognize King.. at least NOT in a level where he should be recognized. I'm an independent and I've just recently "left the fence" to support Obama. But this thing with McCain being racist is absurd.

  • I also think there are far more deserved African-American figures in history than King.. and they didn't get any holidays. So I really wouldn't make a big deal about McCain INITIALLY opposing the bill. Come on. Give the old man a break! There are way too many hostilities in this election. Accusations of sexism and racism are so ridiculous. If you're voting for someone JUST because of his or her race and/or gender, then you should know now that America does NOT need your prejudiced vote.

  • McCain is a clown. Simply put. There is no excuse for him not knowing MLK's significance in American history. So just because Arizona didn't have a big black population blacks and black heros meant nothing to him.

  • Not an ageist joke but seriously, I think he's losing his memory.

  • McCain became a P.O.W. in 1967. He was in Hanoi when MLK was assassinated. I'd assume that worked into his inexperience with the figure.

  • No excuse idiot. MLK had been doing work long before 67. The race issue was HUGE at the time so there is no fucking excuse to not know MLK's significance unless you're a retard. McCain also had time to learn about MLK after he came home yet still voted against it being a holiday. If McCain's reasons were that he didn't know the significance and he voted against the holiday's funding in 1994, that means McCain was ignorant on MLK until after 94. Sickening and no fucking excuse.

  • McCain = moron!

Americans, your fate will be known from who you vote for in this election. Have some thoughtfulness of people in the middle east, you morons!

  • He admitted he was wrong and he supported a state motion to designate MLK Holiday. That's fine by me. I dont hate the guy it's just his negative ads and his assctn with GWB

  • McCain is such a tool. Talks up the military whenever he gets caught in a lie or called out in bad policy decisions. And he's such an ass to journalists.

  • Hmmm. Seems weird to me. However, in defense of McCain, which I don't usually do, he was a POW when King was assinated, and had to learn what went on in the world while he was gone for 5 years when he got out in 73. That said, he should have learned about King's importance by 83.

  • why do politicians (especially republicans)repeat themselves over and over like I'm an IDIOT and the dumb sh*t they say is going to magically not sound dumb after the 5th time?!?!?!

    This is sad and scary.

  • McCain's sudden attack

    watch?v=kFm-dOX8fwM

  • No big deal. Maybe he didnt grow up calling black people niggers so he wasnt involved in race issues. He was in Arizona.

    OBAMA 08

  • McCain's first vote was right. WE SHOULD NOT HAVE MARTIN LUTHER KING DAY! We should have a CIVIL RIGHTS DAY that celebrates the accomplishment of every civil rights leader. Not just the one we deem most import because racial discrimination is the most taboo in this country.

  • You're right. But is THAT the reason he opposed the vote??? Because he felt it shouldnt be in one man's name??

  • Your A Fucking Ass Hole

  • What did he say that was so wrong? He just examined the issue more. Pretty simple.

  • I was waiting for him to say, "I'm just kidding", but none came. Are you serious McHell to the No. I think every one should see this clip, then tell me if this guy is fit for leading his household, let alone this country.

  • he didnt know about martin luther king? *head in hands*

  • Why does he keep putting the military in all his answers ? What the heck does that have to do with him voting against MLK ? I was a kid in 1983 and KNEW who MLK was..

  • thats because its his only thing to keep the war nuts voting for him.

  • This idiot is full of it! HOw can such idiot be so blunt about his stupidity? At least come out of his stupid closet and say he was a dumbfuuck back than and he is still learning. I'll try to except his exlanation that way. FFucckin idiot!

  • By the way, in McCain's days, the military was NOT an equal opportunity employer. Blacks were relegated to roles as cooks in the Navy. Their best bet was to join the Army during the Vietnam days.

  • McCain is a dumbfuck - HE HAD NEVER HEARD OF MLK AT AGE 47??????

THIS DUMBFUCK PROVES HIS STUPIDITY EVERY TIME HIS LIPS MOVE.

VOTE FOR THIS ASSHOLE AND GOD HELP OUR COUNTRY - HE MAY ACTUALLY BE WORSE THAN THE IDIOT IN OFFICE RIGHT NOW.

  • idk how many times this guy mentioned his experience in the "United States Military," and for some reason it looks like he's got the jitters every time he says something obv its a clear indication of a lie

  • I would never vote for this idiot!!!!!

  • ...wow, i thought i was going to vote for this man, apperantly not, he's a racist bastard like those KKK guys. and he voted against him? im white, im republican, IM VOTING OBAMA! GO OBAMA 2008! NOT THIS RACIST SOON TO DIE BASTARD!

  • don't forget that it is not mccain's fault that he didn't realize what was going on as far as the civil right movement because he was in the military and the military is a beautiful rainbow of people and then when he got home, well, there were no black people. how can we fault a man for not noticing something outside of his own experience. sure it was a major part of our history, but hey, he's a vet. *sarcasm*

gunluver1 is obviously biased & prob afraid of black people.

    Mccain? No Thanks.

  • McCain is racist. You are just too blind to see it. I agree that in all likelihood Obama is racist as well. He just has had too many associations with those with hostile views against Whites. Can you provide proof that Obama said those things though? I agree. He would still be in that church. Try to be fair,if that is possible. I am.

  • wow. that's a lie.

  • whenever in doubt squirm get defensive and BS ur way around the question... that makes u oh so believable

  • haha exactly what a joke

  • How can you possibly run to be president of the United States of American you don't know WHO THE HELL Martin Luther King Jr. is? ha Give me a break. Sorry sit your sorry, behind down McCain. He waits until he runs for president to apologize. Sorry no can do.

I wish I didn't hear this so late....now I have more ammunition to fuel more opposition to McCain amongst my friends!

    OBAMA 2008

  • That anti-cancer treatment is affecting his cognitive ability. He can't even lie anymore with a straight face.Go home,Senator.Take care of your health&family .

  • I was going to vote for this man but after this there is no way in heck I will vote for John McCain. If he had been honest and said he used to be prejudiced and/or racist I would respect him and say that nobody's perfect. However, lying and saying that he did not know about MLK instead of just being honest is just plain despicable. Obama for 2008!

  • LMAO! Who taught you that? I've been a Republican since age EIGHT. The GOP is the party that abolished slavery in the US. Did you know that? You cannot use the terms Marx, Mao, or really even Rockefeller in the same book, much less the same sentence, as Republican.

WHAT A DUMB AS THE GOP PARTY OF LINCOLNS cannot even be considered the same as todays republicans i know you like to forget that many democrats switched republican decades ago and blacks went from rep to democrat, uknow why!

  • lol McCain has managed to piss off BOTH the skinhead racist vote AND the black vote! I FUCKING LOVE IT!

  • McCain,

What a bullshit answer that was, how could he not know these things, just be honest and say what your real impressions were at the time because it's already apparent from watching this...

  • Believe me, both these guys suck in my opinon, but I really think Obama will lose. You may not like it, or agree with it, but there you have it.

What might change this? The VEEPS!

In order for McCain to win, he must move to the right, because he is too moderate for most conservatives. (Bill Crist, Bobby Jindal, or another southern conservative).

Obama, MUST move to the center. He is too far to the left for most Americans. (Jim Webb is in my opinion the best). Biden or Clinton? NOPE!

  • Fuck the center and fuck you!

  • Ok, whatever you say. I sure as hell won't vote for Obama/Biden, Obama/Clinton, Obama/Edwards or Obama/Dodd. For far too long the Democrats HAVE FORGOTTEN the majority of the country as they seek to unite the fringe "utopian" minority. Look, I hate what the republicans have done too! But, I will NEVER vote for ANYONE who doesn't appeal or offer anything to me, or to people like me!

If the choice is Jim Webb, a pro-gun, pro-millitary, moderate democrat..I might change my mind.

  • Jim Webb also has a tendency to write long essays telling everyone how women aren't fit to serve in the military and that women who are raped while serving in the military are just getting what they deserve. Soooo.

  • When you have many moderate democrats in congress saying they can't endorse him for that reason, that he is too liberal...

    ...what does that say?

  • So he didn't know MLK was 47, and Obama for some odd reason thinks there are 57 states.

    Hmm....

Is anyone else out there concerned by the idiots running for president? I sure as hell am!

  • mccain didnt have to know mlk its knowing he the man is, he's must have a disease and he voted against mlk holiday in AZ

  • He will not know in his seventies that he did not win the presidential election. Old age does have its advantages.

  • sorry for the typo

  • fuck Mccain, by the I live in AZ. Vote Obama if you want to have a future.

  • While america suffers, the world keeps moving, this is in fact detremental to future influence and growth compared to the world economy and politics. We are no longer representative of technological might, when we block research in biopharm (stem cells) and science, clinging to bibles to solve our problems, we block ecnomic literacy (supprime crisis), we blcok even intellectual growth (ranking USA 27th out of 30 industrialized nations for education). Its a sad day to be an american. agree?

  • The british did not leave us until 1948, in the end we have stronger than ever before, and are in tow with being the next biggest superpower. You an Apache, my ass, understand your history before talking smack.

  • You are from India. Oh please excuse. I thought that you were another American claiming American Indian heritage. Indians are quite civilized. I happen to like them.

Indeed, you shall become a superpower. I am counting on your counterbalance to the Chinese.

I would think that you would be more of a McCain supporter. BO would raise trade barriers. Or who knows what he would do.

  • Yes Im indian, and now a naturalized US citizen, but I maintain national pride for 1.8billion people of my kind, which includes, bangladesh, pakistan, nepal, and parts of afghanistan. The reason i have to debate you is the course of the republican actions taken these past 7 years. Though my people prospered, i am still considered an american, and must show some reverence to my adopted country. Americans have been taken to the back while the world economy moves at the speed of light.

  • Congratulations and welcome. You do have some valid points; however, I don't believe that BO's policies will improve the situation. The international complexities involved cannot be easily solved, and there is no margin for perceived weakness, which I believe that BO will convey to those that would exploit it.

Prosperity is a powerful weapon, and less restriction on international trade is vital. BO's type were screaming about the exportation of US jobs to India which was inaccurate.

  • There has been a 12-day Hunger Strike outside of John McCain's Phoenix headquarters. Youtube: Hunger Strike for 9/11 Truth

    How will McCain respond?

  • He'd probably respond that the 9/11 truth movement is the stupidest goddamn thing in the last half century and that would be the smartest thing he's said in his entire career.

  • You don't think the victim's family members deserve answers to their questions, 70% of which were not answered by the 9/11 Commission?

  • Probably bring them some burgers and tell them to get some help. That or kick all their asses down the street....

  • Once youve grasped the basics of these things then we can have a discussion about the USA and the world. till then you pose no threat to my intelligence.

  • We NEED a true conservative THIRD party...this idiot is about as lame as obama lama ding dong and the hillbilly...why would you be proud of the greatest "equal opportunity employer"...what a dumbass statement...this guy gets me going every time I hear him run his mouth....mccain...if you wnat to win in november KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT

  • This year is the Libertarians' chance, if they choose to take it.

  • Ron Paul or Duncan Hunter or Lieberman or Tom Tancredo or Huckabee....SOMEONE There's got to be better choices than obama lama ding dong and mad mad mad mad mad mad mad mad mad mccain...HELP!

  • Well my friends what we've got here is a man with a really bad temper he's real big hot head!! And if we get this hot head in office it will be WW3 no joke.Obama is the only good choice we have.

  • Barack Obama: Harvard Educated Lawyer, 1st Black President of Harvard Law Review, University of Chicago Constitutional Law Professor, Community Action Leader, State Senator to be elected by the city of Chicago based on merit alone, Third black US Senator since reconstruction in 1868, First Black DNC Nominee, do you need more credentials? seems like illinois creates pretty good change leaders huh. LOL.

  • First black racist Marxist. Gaping holes in foreign policy, economics, and general judgment. Surrounded by radicals including an angry racist wife.

It's change but not the one needed.

  • funny boy: you must be one of those bitter hard working white uneducated and gun toting americans we've come to hear so much about. Did you know....the marxist revolution which started popularly from russia had many of the same bitter white uneducated and gun toting revolutionaries who started communism all thanks to a biter man named lenin? Come back when youve read upon world history, socio-political policy, and a thorough understanding for economic theory which all started from John ADAMs.

  • I'm a happy Apache gun toter, sure. I highly recommend it for everyone. And the seven years spent in college may not qualify me as an expert on Marxism, but this is a simple enough application even for the likes of me.

Since you enjoy reading, you should read "Black Liberation Theology," which your boy BO embraced for 20 years, and then compare and contrast it to Marxism. You're bound to experience an epiphany.

Your entire BO paradigm should shift, unless you also are such a believer.

  • At no time did Barack Obama embrace Black Liberation Theology, you fucking retard/Republican plant.

  • no i dont dont revel in revolutionary ideology, an extremist point of view undercuts diplomacy and is detrimental to a peaceful relationship of coexistence. From the likes of che, to rhetoric of mao, they have never been used for the people but manipulated the situation to for their elitist goals. Marx was more of an elitest than the Rockefellers. Chairman Mao let nearly 75 million pheasants die because he truely hated them, those ideals are transfered to the ideals of any REPUBLICAN. Check it

  • LMAO! Who taught you that? I've been a Republican since age EIGHT. The GOP is the party that abolished slavery in the US. Did you know that? You cannot use the terms Marx, Mao, or really even Rockefeller in the same book, much less the same sentence, as Republican.

The GOP consists more of self-reliant greedy bastards than elitists. Look to liberals for rampant elitism.

  • Funny boy: i have my doubts youre indian. why support the very men who killed off nearly 80%of your nation? nearly 2 million American Indians were massacared over 200 years and here you are supporting the ideology that slaughtered your people???????!! The western expansion slaughtered so many Indians, you have become the most endangered human in the USA, and you support it? APACHE my ASS!!! Believe me I AM INDIAN, my blood has lived through 300 years of colonial rule, slavery and subjecation.

  • I could give a damn what you believe. My great grandparents were killed in the Apache wars, and I need no history lesson. I support my own "ideology." We were taught that "shit happens" and not to wallow in misfortune. We were instructed to go out and prosper in a white world, which we have.

My father and uncles all fought in WWII. There is no one with more claim to the US than my family.

That is only part of the reason why I detest BO and his supposedly "oppressed" followers.

  • What? Obama isn't running as oppressed, or anything like it. Yeah, he spent most of his adult life working to bring people out of poverty, but he isn't running on some sort of "vote for me and stick it to the racists" card at all. He never mentions his race, and the only reason he made the big speech about race was because of the Wright controversy. Detest Obama's platform all you like, but at least know what it is first.

  • BO's affiliations and attendance at a TUCC indicates his embrace of "Black Liberation Theology." The doctrine consists of a "victimization paradigm" associated with Socialism/Marxism.

BO represents all the perceived and self-identified oppressed and exploited, whoever that is, our in our society by default. He also carries the flag for all those in the world. His trillion dollar American donation to world poverty is a strong indicator of his beliefs using your money. No thanks.

  • Have a credible link to the "trillion dollar American donation to world poverty"? The only place I'm finding trillion dollar estimates is on far-right blogger rants, the Senate records are looking more like 90 billion/year, which is slightly less than 1 trillion.

And now you're sounding like you think there aren't people that are oppressed or exploited in the US. You're delusional if that's the case. Oh, I forgot, they should just pull themselves up by their bootstraps, yeah?

  • $90B x 10 yrs = $900B. Close enough to $1T for me. Send 'em your money.

I'm Apache. I know all about oppression. Yes, I've been blessed with a good mind and a strong family example. But, the govt can do damned little for people. They must do for themselves. There have been many "great experiments" in collective socialism. They are ineffective. BO cannot change that.

  • It strikes me that either McCain is lying or that he had no social conscience as a young man.

The Montgomery Bus Boycotts took place during his second year at the Naval Academy, which is in a southern state.

The Naval Academy itself was going through a tumultuous integration process while McCain attended.

He was in pilot school in Florida during the 1963 March on Washington.

I actually don't know which alternative is worse.

  • I wonder where he was when all this was going on back then. What a lame excuse and that was at 47. What about general knowledge? His scope is very limited and probably still is.

  • I hate it when politicians regurgitate and swallow the same claptrap over and over again because their mental records are stuck and they're too dim-witted to engage in conversational topics of real importance.

  • He's a fucking liar, he supported the King holiday being rescended in Arizona. He then fought to get it passed, as most clowns in Arizona once the NFL took the super bowl from them because of it.

He's such a lying sack of shit; there's no straight talk.

  • well he is right about the military being the biggest equal opportunity employer in america, but obviously that was an out of touch decision he made back then to not support the holiday. still you dont need a holiday to appreciate what a person does.

  • what a DICK. Look how he tries to berate this reporter. I can't wait to see Obama kick his ASSSSSSSS

  • at least he admits it

  • ????? Typical.

  • McCain not knowing about Dr. King proves just how out of touch he is with not only the African-American population, but an entire GENERATION of people who devoted their lives to Civil Rights. Granted the struggle for civil rights is still an on-going process, its a little too late (at his age) to be pretending as if he's interested in this struggle and the people involved in it. McCain trivializes Dr. King's legacy and that "apology" on 4/4/08 was nothing more than a dance on his grave.

  • An awckward lie imo. When you return to your homeplace, you are eager of learning about the changes occurred during your absence.

McCain certainly learnt about the end of segregation and how MLK was a decisive factor in ending it. All JMcC said here is that he did not care about segregation as an issue, did not feel segr. might be wrong and as a consequence, did not care about MLK. What JMcC learned? he learnt that it was no good for a politician to dismiss the end of segr. He learnt to pander.

  • pathetic...shameful...horrible...an outrage that he dishonors MLK in this way on the anniversary of his assassination...standing on the steps of the Lorraine Motel laughing and trying badly to apologize...loser...

  • ppl keep making excuses that are not reasonable for why he didn't vote for MLK day...although he was in Vietnam when MLK became popular, the fact is about time he was in senate and the bill for MLK day was passed it was the 1980s...he had plenty of time to catch up on who MLK was

  • You wouldn't have voted for him under any circumstances, so go back to whackin it.

  • i am sorry but i had to comment on this vid, he has lost his respect. If he would of apologized when he WASN'T RUNNING 4 PREZ. then i would of respected him more instead of not at all

  • if anyone likes being fed bullshit they should listen to this guy.

  • This old out of touch racist Hump is almost as ignorant as Bush Cheney, He doesn't understand who the players in the middle east are, who's training whom and sending them back to Iraq, didn't understand who MLKing was or his relevance, Purdy darned sure we need to be over there bombing someone if it takes 100 yrs even though he doesn't know who or why. Graduated second from the bottom at the academy.

I'll bet on intellect over war prisoner any day. At least 'smart' has a chance.

  • who are you shaire 99 were you born in 99? way to go, you sound smart

  • Oh, poor McCain, he´s a very sweet and sympathetic man, but this is embarassing! Hope they do not nag at him so much because of that:))))))))))

  • OUT OF TOUCH OLD DUDE -- WHO LIES ABOUT HIS HISTORY. 47 YEARS OLD!

"Not involved with the issue..." Civil rights O RLY? WOW.

100 YEARS WAR. Shia Sunni WHATEVER!

MCCAIN - YOU did NOT establish that 'equal opportunity' thing in the US military.

Please don't vote for this man.

  • AIPAC controlled Jewish Superdelegates is why Hillary isn't quitting.

    AIPAC bought her.

  • I think I've found the funniest video on youtube!!! Watch this kid's ridiculous political opinions on the election and the war. ITS HILARIOUS!!!

    /watch?v=W5dW5xdOKcM

  • our next president... thanks to touch screen voting.

  • So he's basically admitting that he cast his vote in total ignorance. Never mind what not knowing about King and the civil rights movement either before or after he was imprisoned in Vietnam (his excuse) says about your level of engagement.

  • if you accept a spot in the congress, you ought to know who MLK was. Especially if you cast a vote on the issue. No excuses.

  • "Sit down, my son. We don't read most of the bills we pass."

    --U.S. Rep. John Conyers (D-MI)

  • Hanoi-jane MCcain is right on this one. MLK is not the TV CHARACTER the public knows his as. Wikipedia is for the fake history. The guy was an asshole

  • this turd will surely self destruct before the election. he can't seem to open his mouth without putting his foot in it. if he wins the election, vote fraud will be overwhelmingly confirmed. another good reason for ron paul to stay in the game.

  • ron paul was the only thing the republican party had going for it. none of the other inbreeds have a chance in hell of beating the democrats. especially mccain. he is as sharp as a spoon and has ZERO credibility. anyone with an IQ over room temp can see that. obama will embarass him come election time. it may wake the republican party up, but it won't happen till after the dems confiscate all our guns and eliminate our 2nd ammendment rights completely. dumb ass.

  • If the dems were to succeed, you'd be in no small part responsible for it. The problem with RP, and his supporters, is that they have no party loyalty. RP demonstrated it in '88 as a Lib candidate. Now he was unable to get traction except for primarily young people who haven't heard the same stump, which was also inaccurate BTW. You are the only bunch who insults others for not sharing your "wisdom." BO people are even more civil.
