While america suffers, the world keeps moving, this is in fact detremental to future influence and growth compared to the world economy and politics. We are no longer representative of technological might, when we block research in biopharm (stem cells) and science, clinging to bibles to solve our problems, we block ecnomic literacy (supprime crisis), we blcok even intellectual growth (ranking USA 27th out of 30 industrialized nations for education). Yes Im indian, and now a naturalized US citizen, but I maintain national pride for 1.8billion people of my kind, which includes, bangladesh, pakistan, nepal, and parts of afghanistan. The reason i have to debate you is the course of the republican actions taken these past 7 years. Though my people prospered, i am still considered an american, and must show some reverence to my adopted country. Americans have been taken to the back while the world economy moves at the speed of light.

Congratulations and welcome. You do have some valid points; however, I don't believe that BO's policies will improve the situation. The international complexities involved cannot be easily solved, and there is no margin for perceived weakness, which I believe that BO will convey to those that would exploit it.
Prosperity is a powerful weapon, and less restriction on international trade is vital. BO's type were screaming about the exportation of US jobs to India which was inaccurate.

I could give a damn what you believe. My great grandparents were killed in the Apache wars, and I need no history lesson. I support my own "ideology." We were taught that "shit happens" and not to wallow in misfortune. We were instructed to go out and prosper in a white world, which we have.
My father and uncles all fought in WWII. There is no one with more claim to the US than my family.

The Naval Academy itself was going through a tumultuous integration process while McCain attended.

McCain not knowing about Dr. King proves just how out of touch he is with not only the African-American population, but an entire GENERATION of people who devoted their lives to Civil Rights. Granted the struggle for civil rights is still an on-going process, its a little too late (at his age) to be pretending as if he's interested in this struggle and the people involved in it. McCain trivializes Dr. King's legacy and that "apology" on 4/4/08 was nothing more than a dance on his grave.
