@jcsv12345 You bet she has! Any ship as active as this one is bound to get sunk sooner or later. If you watch some of my other videos, you'll see HMS Rodney sinking several times. I've sunk her at least once myself.
@Xavi997 The biggest battleships fire 1/4" steel balls at a little over 150fps. Smaller cannons fire a little faster, because our test is penetration, not velocity. As far as aiming, you just eyeball what direction your guns are pointing from shore, and "fart in the general direction" of your opponent.
I'm thinking of making this a hobby and i was on strikemodels today and noticed that the hulls had 3 prices a hull+kit price, a hull+deck pirce, and a hull price... could you shead some light on what the Hull+kit is?
@MegaTitanicboy Certainly. A hull is just that, a fiberglass hull. A hull+ deck includes both the hull and a subdeck and deck, saving you the time of having to build your own. A hull+kit includes the hull, subdeck and deck, and basic superstructure components. This would be shaped foam blocks for the various buildings, plastic decks for the levels above the main deck, and sturdy dowel for masts. This will save a lot of time when making a ship because you don't have to make them yourself.
@kotori87 thanks for the information i'm only 14 and i don't hae a job and all the peices of a 1:144 scale USS Atlanta added up to $615 of corse strike models didn't carry all of the recomended gear so i have to get the regulator from battlers connection and i don't know if all the peices will fit.
@darkruler527 damaged/sunk? yes. Cut in half? No. Our ships' structures are very sturdy, enough that a collision will not break or even damage it. The balsa sheeting, however, is much easier to damage, so a poorly-placed bow will break through and cause flooding, possibly even sinking. Ram damage and ram-sinking is not allowed by the rules, however, and carries a very heavy penalty.
would be hard to install cheap Wireless Mini CCTV Hidden Color Pinhole Camera SPY Cam you could watch live feed from it but with not good quality because it cheap
Mabey it would help give you Little bit more accuracy like watching at 2:35 =)
What if the camera could be place at the "Weapon Control Center". But turning and aiming at the center point of all the functioning guns? Waiting and longing to see the final editing result. Is the image able to be monitored by the controler while battling? And not just doing recording?
@llawming Unfortunately it's only recorded, not broadcast for viewing in combat. What you've mentioned is possible, however no skippers in this club have chosen to install such a system.
@fty170 No, most battles are more interesting than this. Ben was on convoy duty for the first sortie, so he spent most of his time sailing back and forth between the convoy buoys, and discouraging attackers from getting near. Unfortunately I screwed up, and didn't record the second sortie of the day, which was far more interesting.
@fty170 There were 18 ships battling on the pond. Most were in close to shore, while the ship in the video was "out to sea." So, you aren't seeing much of the fighting in this video. We would have to have multiple cameras running, and then major editing to get it all covered.
Has the Rodney ever sunk?
