  • This song number one!!!!!!!!

  • ....Love it!!......a true classic!!

  • THE BEGGINING SOUNDS LIKE BACH'S ''AIR ON THE G STRING''.

  • @cathycothy both songs sound alike

  • @cathycothy classic reinvented as a classic

  • @cathycothy I read that the composer had actually been listening to Bach's Air before composing this. "Air" is one of my favorites too and you can hear the influence of the master in this song, I think. Good observation. I'm getting ready to combine the two in a wedding. I had joined them before I ever read what the composer said. I think I felt the connection subconsciously. lol

  • These modern kids know nothing about good music and lyrics.

  • This reminds me of the time when I was young and me and my parents used to play this from one of my father's first cd's. They divorced a couple of years ago and this reminds of easier times. Not really happier, but surely it was easier.

  • Dr Joseph Huntington has a beautiful mistress.

  • I can't get enough of this piano...

  • Wonder if Justin B would even remember this?? Not in this life!!!!!!!

  • ah ... sooooo many memmories from so many decades

  • Still gives me goosebumps 40 years later

  • Csodás teljesítmény!

  • beautifull,thanks

  • das ist so gut

  • Who's on the guitar?

  • @VENTURES79 Looks like James May from Top Gear's brother (hehe). Think it is Geoff Whitehorn.

  • i love you

  • OMFG! They shone on brightly.

I had to listen to a whole lot of Bach and read Chaucer in the sort of original and a lot of the Beat Generation just to get half of this song. You are easily looking at 2 years of instense education just to scratch the surface of it.

    What a masterpiece!

  • @bfandreasyt what's to "get"? it's not exactly a complex composition. no offense, just curious

  • Uno dei più bei lenti degli anni 60.

  • quite simply, one of the greatest rock songs ever.

  • TOCANDO MEJOR QUE NUNCA. FABULOSO VIDEO

  • I learned to play the organ first before the piano. I remembered it took like 5 minutes for it to warm up. Love this song to, it can draw you in and just calm you.

  • you can download it from the internet

  • One of my all time favourites - I never tire of it from the original to the latest. Wish I had it on CD but cannot find it anywhere over here. Thaks guys for bringing back so many memories of a fantastic era.

  • m'encanta aquesta cançó.

    Rosa p.

  • I am impressed that Procol Harum sounds still as fantastic today as yesterday, great work!!! It sure sounded good to hear this song again! Your fan,

  • Eighty-six punks turned a whiter shade of pale when they heard REAL music for the first time..

  • @russtommy1 I agree with you, it sounds fantastic (thanks google translate).

  • I love that disturbing Leslie effect in the chorus. Probably the most important hammond organ record in pop music

  • @awaken77 RIGHT ON !!! gets right into your feelings

  • LOVE this song!

  • One of those songs you remember where you were hearing it for the FIRST TIME....A CLASSIC!!!!

  • this song is something,,,,,,,,

86 people have a see sick even when they are on a land!

  • 2011 and You are here just to press like

    \m/ Long live music

  • Thank you SO MUCH for upload this timeless song!! Actually, I have been looking around for this song, because I knew its lyrics but NOT its title. Today, I eventually found that on youtube. This song has special meaning to me. The first time I heard it when I was in the teenage around 1968 in Saigon, South Viet-Nam during the VietNam war. That was the time the war entered its climax with B52, napalm etc., saddening the mind of a young kid. Today, this song brought me back to meet that kid.

  • My favorite of all times.

  • They are still playing the songs from that era today. That wont happen with the crap that is produced nowadays. What happened? Where did the magic go?

  • I wonder if one of Justin Bieber's hits will stand the pressure of time and stays as contemporary as this song in 40 plus years from now, remember that this song was recorded in 1967and still seems to have been recorded yesterday, this is what is call a CLASSIC, THUMBS UP GUYS

  • @ELKARASUCIA

    Exactly.

  • @ELKARASUCIA What a fucking moron you. Music is Music, Beiber is right now, what Harlum was then, CURRENT and POPULAR, music grows, fans get old and boring, You are just an idiott

  • @TellyComedyAndDrama Yeah, but just because it's popular now doesn't mean it'll really be remembered (by the general public) in 40 years. I'm not saying it'll be buried forever and no one will remember it, but by the general masses. Like The Beatles, everyone knows who The Beatles are. But i'm sure there are bands who released a few albums and were insanely popular, but the general public might not know who they are/were. Relax man, no need to get all worked up over a simple statement.

  • @TellyComedyAndDrama justin beiber might as well be in thunderbirds hes a talentless puppet...monkey in fact

  • @TellyComedyAndDrama these are real musicians not some corporate media zombie

  • A great song, but to use a Hammond while the chapel's FABULOUS Father Willis pipe organ sits at the back, silent? A tragic missed opportunity.

  • I FEEL SOMETHING VERY DIFFERENT EVERYTIME I LISTEN THIS AMAZING SONG, SINCE MY TEN YEARS OLD, FIRST TIME I HEARD IT ! THE TIME PASSED AND TODAY IN MY 54 YEARS OLD I STILL EMOTIONAL FEEL ME BECAUSE THIS MUSIC WHAT IS THE MOST BEAUTIFULTO ME OF ALL TIME ! - SANTOS-SP - BRAZIL ( 16 DEC 2011 )

  • yes the best song of last century you can be happy and relax to this song and you can be very sad it is allways the same fealing and you allways feel it in allbody and mind

  • I had my very very beautiful rented R&R girl on the dance floor. Under my clothes I still had my friend's blood on me.. ( no matter how hard I tried there was a spot where you can't see but she does) As the band played this song. There was no joy. Being shot is lest painful. While my friend's were a whiter shade a pale!

  • THEY ARE 85 FANS OF JUSTIN BIEBER IN THIS ROOM !!!

  • 'The Boat That Rocked', amazing movie!

  • @TommyCruze I still prefer the U.S. title of Pirate Radio.

  • super!

  • trop beau j adore

  • ^not a quarter as good, as bach's "air" (suite in d), but still great

  • Feeling. Soul. Hearts raw, crying to empty heaven with pain, with life lived in this world of earth: emotion wide open. This is a beautiful song and the lyrics are secondary to the pulling on our souls left in this fallen world.

  • I still get weepy- the greatest music !!

  • zajebisty

  • iTs about a Man Loosing his father, and how it makes you cold as Mid Winter, and reflecting on life, Now if thats stupid, you need help friend,,

  • when i'im bad, i like listen this song, when the world sucks , this song is amazing

  • @grimark51 lol even though its about a man subtly confronting his cheating lover?

  • wow!!! what a great tune. An old friend of mine had a band back in the day and they could play this as well as Gary. Tom A. from my home town.

  • @jackducky ... yeah it makes you do that doesn't it!

Every time even 45 years later1

  • Top class musicians.. :)

  • Thank you uploader!! Such a Beautiful Classic!! Memories... a wonderful thing!!

  • EVERY TIME I listen to this, it takes my breath away!

  • Are you trying to sound kike your parents?

  • true

  • AWE SOME!!!!

  • absolute timeless ! ! !

  • Music now days is CRAP, is hard to believe that after more than 40 years, this guys will still kick ass to new singers. song stills one of the best of all times.

  • True story. In 1968 at my Fraternity we played this on 45 RPM like 1,000 times on a Saturday night and when the sun came up the record was trashed on the sidewalk. We went out and as the sun Came up, we smashed the remnants on the sidewalk. It was gonzo, :-)

  • after all those years he never lost his voice, still the Procol Harum, i'm only confused on the second verse or I am lost somewhere.

  • Its the hunting music

  • The keyboard solo really touch my heart.

  • @yyl74 Man ! It is not a keyboard!!! This is THE HAMMOND ORGAN !!! The most incredible instrument ever, used of coarse Keys. But please never call this marvel -keyboard.

  • @prohammond I know a Hammond is epic, but an organ is also a keyboard instrument. I guess you are mad about some people think it is an "electric" keyboard.

  • @punkprincessv an organ is a keyboard instrument. an organ is a instrument. an organ is an organ Same : Carillon is also a keyboard instrument. Carillon is an instrument- people think Carillon .

  • @punkprincessv If band leader needs Hammond player ,he never looks for keyboard player

  • @prohammond You got that right. AND it made a hit outa GREEN EYED LADY also

  • @prohammond Exactly! The Hammond Organ! I once bought one. I think it's still there somewhere in somebody's house. A gift from me. And whoever has it now probably knows no more how to play it than I did. I made up for it by buying keyboards and guitars and drumsets and ukeleles and every other instrument I could think of, but I always regret not learning how to play that Hammond Organ....

  • @cqsallie So it is. Many piano and keyboard players try to touch my Hammond. Sounds ridiculous and no wonder.Better try to imitate Hammond on keyboard, but then You have i m i t a t i o n.! Don't try to imitate your girlfriend with the rubber doll.

  • In our plastic and "pop" world, music like this one is like a breath of fresh air.

Where have all the real bands gone ?
