Surely you could have exactly the same ideology, but in positive terms? Generally, its easier to convince those around you to do something worthwhile, if you can say 'composting is worth doing' vs. 'I am anti waste'.

We just need to regrow communities and learn healthy sustainable and infact harmoninable ways to live.

Starting from scratch itself suggests running of into the woods and realearning how to build knives and spears.

Which isn't going to convince anyone.

It is better to use learned natural techniques that have been used for thousands of years.

People know them, and use them.

But when it comes to our way of life itself. and civilization. Yes start from scratch. But we should use the natural sustainable tools we have made while we can, until we learn the right ways.

I don't exactly agree with electricity, but until i figure out another way to sustain a geothermal system up here in the Cold of ontario, I am kind a stuck with using a solar panel.

But people do know natural ways to live. And once I finish university I will be traveling to learn how they do it.

I've been thinking more and more about Christianity, especially from reading "The Holy". I'm only 130 pages in but I was summarizing what the book is about to a friend on the metro and this woman sitting next to us goes: "Let me just tell you, you re are right on. (sounds good so far). I read the Old Testament and these gods have powers (Baal, Astaroth etc...) but they are demons, Big G (my insertion) doesn't speak to you through them, he (you mean they) speaks through Jesus."

And we're nodding, okay, yeah, sure. We had missed our stop, i thought she might be good to talk to...turns out she entirely missed the point. But she did ask what book it was, and then I was like, before you read that you should read his other book, "Ishmael"...I don't hold out any hopes lol.

Who knows, maybe you planted a little nugget in her mind. There's a local book club I'm thinking of joining and suggesting Ishmael to. I saw a notice for it and thought it's the kind of thing you'd probably do, so maybe I should get out there and do it too.

Makes me think of the book "American Gods" by Neil Gaiman. Damn good read. Easy to pick up too. Escapist stuff, but still good.
