when in fighting the heart pumps fast to shoot more oxygen to the brain. when an opponent received this lightning attack the circulation will be disrupted. the effect cannot really be determined but some people die because of hemorrhagic stroke few hours after they receive it.
Don't under estimate this move may be without weapon this look like just tapping our opponent's sub mandibular area. But giving enough pressure can burst the carotid artery. Lot of people had payed their lives already caused they just take the attack simple.
Hey!! Where i live, theres a fighting style that uses this technique. I don't think its called Eskrima, but what they do is block the hand, and uses both hands, slide up the arm blocked, and hit the neck in the same place shown above. Their hands are clasped together as if u were praying. This stunned sum1 for at least 2 seconds. Like literally, he couldn't do anything for 3 seconds. Just saying
@WorldMilitia kinda but martial arts are only for self defense if u or somebody else uses martial arts as a form of bullying then u sure as hell wont get far in that art plus u dont deserve to do it.
@JooJoona Are you going on experience or the video? because noone's gonna leave their arm there like that. You have to be fast executing this move. Aka prehand training. If the other guy twists his elbow down. and swings around with the left fist. You lose your position for your arm strike and the nerve cluster in the neck. soooo.....It works. You just have to know what you're doin
People are saying that why would he leave the guy with his other arm open to strike him. If the person who uses this technique is really good, this move can be done in a split second and will leave the opponent paralyzed before he could even react.
@xoredline Thats not true....Unless you go against someone who's never fought before. So that depends on your experience and their experience. But you do have the upper hand. Just don't lose it i guess
at like 0:18, why let go of the arm? surely you could go for an arm lock, or sweep their leg out and take them to the ground. This move looks relatively simple and quick, could be a perfect quick combination take down.
Do the second hit on the neck just a lil harder than it appears here..then your opponent/enemy will be VERY disorientated or just plain collapse stiff..
@home5weethome well i did kind of think after watching this again, why bother hitting the top of his arm - instead you could just shove your palm through his face.
haha Good Question. Im Filipino and Eskrima was originated There.. and i took Traditional Eskrima for a good 7 years.. Till MUAY THAi Caught my eye..*I Blame Tony Jaa*
Well Palamut.. or I COULDA SWORN IT WAS PAMALUT.. Not Palamut..LOL
the purpose Of This Move is When It Comes To Multiple opponents.. This Is A HUGE ADVANTAGE too keep em down for a moment and take out the next...Then Back to same guy for finish.
@getrevenge2 the whole point is to paralyze is arm....to "lim destruction" because if he has no arms and no legs he can't fight rih? this is just one move and i don't think hitting him in the face would be enough to kill him
I know I was just enlightening the mood. It's true though, you take away his arms and legs you can subdue him; even knock him out with that little head tap.
@getrevenge2 Thats the beauty of Filipino Martial Arts. Quick, simple, devestating and most of all, Adaptable. You could take this into an arm bar, several different takedowns, keep grip on the forearm, up into a hanging lock. The possibilities are endless. How you follow through is up to your own martial arts background and your intuition. The situation dictates what action you need to take.
It's one of them diversion techniques. You first hit something else before you hit your actual target. This wya your enemies focus goes to that point first. Apart from that, they try to tire the muscle by exposing it to impacts.
However, I do get your point. I wouldn't have held on to that arm in first place, if I were that silver surfer animation. Right after the block an attack with the left hand and then a follw up with the right one.
i think this is the begining of a sick combo. like he said, w/o a weapon its useless, but he also said it can stun, so follow up with a move of your choice
That's why you have to train to be really fast, and like he said, it's not as effective without a weapon.
The emphasis of the technique is the speed at which you're doing it. You have to execute the maneuver before your opponent realizes that you parried the punch.
Jeb, so the second hand will block it instead of executing the hold, this is thaught as a flexibel technique: Block second attack, hold the arm, stab to the eyes, it depends on what happens after the first block.
Well, at least my teacher trains us to do this.
This works in full contact sparring with these MMA gloves...

I dont get why you have to hit the arm first. I f you are in that possition your opponent is open for a heavy right elbow that does alot more damage.

Just image that the hand has a knife: then you could have a cut to the biceps and the neck. Just like that.
In any case, this exercise is more for creating muscular memory.
