this L.A. band sings about Boston because they realize just like any other city in this beautiful country that Boston teams and their fans are among the best in the world, Go Patriots

Congrats Bruins and their fans all over the world. Get that fokkin party started! .way to go! Hell of a series..Huge Tim Thomas fan here.. It's also Sweet that an Original 6 team won, Doesn't it feel great? Enjoy your summer! ..-.Red Wings fans...
As a Boston Sports fan, This Song means victory to me. Also, as a Boston Stand up comedian, It means the tradition of the Comedy Studio, in Cambridge Ma, Who dim the lights, and play this song before every comedy show. Thanks to the Bruins for makin me ball like a girl. FIRE UP THE DUCK BOATS BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

An interesting piece of trivia to pass on...The Standells were NOT from Boston! In fact, they had never even been to Boston before cutting this record. All the lyrics are based on what other people told them about Boston. Indeed, at one time, there was a curfew of 12 midnight for all female college students to be back in their dorms...and the male students did not have any such curfew...hence, the "frustration"!
Good morning, do you like sixties? Listen and pod cast my program " great sound of 60' s " on the site plumfm. Greeting and made blooper in rock and roll.

He is from Boston area Natick I think. No??
Anybody remember from way back when that there was supposed to be a "dirty" version of this song? Hell, it was probably tame by today's standards. But this kind of music will kick ass forever!
@tallicdeth Congratulations to Boston on a well-deserved Stanley Cup. Not everyone in our beautiful city is a rioting goon, and most of us are deeply embarrassed about the game seven riot.
@tallicdeth Agreed. I would personally love to tatoo ASSCLOWN onto the forehead of every single one of the shitheads that chose to run rampant and disgrace our great city. Fuck them and the piss-poor parents that supposedly raised them.

In 1968 I was 8 years old. A compilation LP called KIRL Super Hits found its way into my house. It had tons of good tunes on it, but this song (and The Seeds' "Pushin' Too Hard") was the one that grabbed my psyche and let me know for sure that rock 'n' roll was indeed going to be an inextricable part of my future existence. Maybe I related to it because it said to me "This is who I am. Don' tread on me. If you can't accept me as I am, get out of my way and leave me alone" in a positive way.

Neville 6000 to even mention American Idol on this post is a crime! most of the contestants do not have a creative bone in their body, what would happen if the modern day equivalent of Bob Dylan or John Lennon turned up to auditions? they wouldn't even get past the front door. The least important part of a great song is the actual singing. Grow up & stop giving shite airtime!!!
I'm not defending American Idol, I'm just saying that at least the contestants sing-more that what they allowed on a show like this. Give me Saturday Night Live, Soul Train, The Old Grey Whistle Test, MTV Unplugged, or The Midnight Special over any show with the lip synch on it.
this song rox!
pitiful lip-sync though...
