This is the best video I've found–simple and beautiful. Sandy Carlson is so gracious and has a sweet glow. Thank you so much; I teach a chorus of 133 kids and we are learning this for our Christmas program this year. God Bless
actually this lady in the video is singing "night" the correct way in my opinion.....but most people who interpret this song sign "night"(evening) or "night"(all night). but if the song is talking about the "evening" then she is signing the wrong night but if the song is talking about "all night" then she is using the correct sign.
I learned this song when I was teaching second grade years ago I always love seeing it perrformed. Now I teach preschool and I want to teach it to my class for their Christmas program, but I forgot most of the signs. I have watched many videos of it on YouTube, but yours is most like the one I remember learning. You are very graceful and I can sense your joy in signing it. Thank you for sharing!!
Thanks Sandy, ThX! thanks for all your help! We fifth graders have to memorize this by Sunday November 14,2010 thanks, sincerly, Ashley Wong age 11,fifth grade California,Hillsborough. My birthday is October 8th
I'm currently learning ASL With prospects of becoming an interpreter. I've been looking around youtube for videos of songs I know to help me learn some things outside of class. This has to be one of the best videos I've found so far for learning a song. Thank you so much for sharing this!
This is a beautiful presentation of Silent Night in ASL. I wish Mary Chamiec-Case produced many Christmas carols as well as other well-known church hymns on DVD or even on Youtube that many more of us can learn. She is a super teacher of signs.
I want to thank you sincerely. At our children's program this year we are signing silent night. I've learned from you so that I may teach them. They are doing wonderfully.
im doing the sign language at school and i almost have it by memory but this is like different from the one im doing... i mean its teh same stuff but its done differently... i think my teacher got teh day and night part mixed up because we dont do it at the side when she does "night" we do it on top of our arm meaning day so idk but yeah
@moonfanaras no your teacher is doing it correct. This girl on this video is not signing night or day remotely correct. Listen to your teacher :) she is doing it properly, and this girl is obviously not even close to being fluent. She cant even sign night or day right lol.....
Wow that is really god....i wish i could hear the words better so i know exactly what signs belong with what words...i am trying to learn how to sign this song :)
this is the best silent night i have found. I have begun to teach this version to my sunday school class for Christmas, but i cannot find these lyrics on cd anywhere. Can someone help me?
This is beautiful. I was just asked to teach Silent Night in Sign Language to the students at St. John's Episcopal Church, your neighbors, in West Hartford, CT. As a social worker at the American School for the Deaf, this is a blessing to watch.
