  • This is terrible - as well as the obvious loss of lives, imagine all the work that had gone on to get that far. It must have taken months and millions of (their currency)

  • The guy filming this was employed by OSHA. This crane was not supposed to be operated in winds greater than 15 mph...the wind was estimated at 32 mph. Two operators actually refused to do the pick because of the wind, they were sent home and two others replaced them.

  • Wow...not gonna be able to cover THAT one up...

  • your description contains a double a negative which makes it nonsensical.

And yes, I saw this on TV and several people died, and while they likely did face fines, OSHA doesn't always apply to situations like this. If the men had the proper safety equipment on and such and it was simply an operator's error they may not have violated any OSHA rules.

  • I pray no one got hurt for real

  • @Miguellovesvictoria 3 people died, if you look at :10 there is little box that is lifted in the distance, there were 3 people in that box like figure.

  • When you look at the other Crane you can see a box on the Hook.2 man in this box where pulled to the Ground from the other falling Crane. Both where Killed instantly.

  • did operator committed suicide after this ? :o ;p

  • OSHA..in California...no big deal if no injury or death...

  • @dougspair

OSHA was the people filming this, and at the site when this happened.

  • Just wanted to ask to anyone that might know, How strict are Occupational Health & Safe Laws are in the States. And What if any, was the outcome from an incident report regarding this event. Just want to know because here in Australia on site, there totally On Safety safety safety....

  • @highwayman7769 Australias gonna be fucking worse when we all go back after Jan 1st, I cant even scratch my balls without writing a safety brief first.

  • Waiter, a new crane please!

  • Milwaukee turned me into an alcoholic

  • That´s gonna be expensive

  • There is a memorial (statue) for the men that died from that at the stadium.

  • This accident happened on 14 July 1999 during the construction of the Miller stadium in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. 3 men were killed.

  • Ни ХУЯ себе ХУЯ !!!

  • this is what happens when you try and lift the same amount of weight that chuck norris bench presses

  • @SuperEnterprise01 Your comment is what happens when people fail at Chuck Norris jokes.

  • I rember that day the first three operators for the crane walked because of the wind and three guy in an man basket were killed bad day

  • @DEADMANWALKING1977 Shit.. You knew em? Sorry for my inquiry, maybe not my place to ask. Damned shame.

  • ouch dat sucks! all dat hard work they put into that, and now its gone! lol

  • shit happens

  • Pause this vid at 20 seconds. Locate the black dot between the "V" of the falling crane that appears to be suspended from another crane in the background. Then realize that that is a manlift carrying 3 human beings. Watch as the falling crane strikes the manlift and pulls the the other crane down from it. Three deaths, 1 year of work that had to be redone, and lotsa money.

  • @aschiael its not a man lift

  • worst thing is that people died in that accident

  • GOD I CANT BELIEVE HOW MANY FUCKING RETARDS CAN NOT SPELL!

  • @SL8R71 - - - Can't

  • @SL8R71 "cannot" is one word.

  • @Vaekkrinhart your wrong and right! when expressing yourself in the way i was in capital letters its correct is called an "AUXILARY VERB"!

  • @SL8R71 ok, touche`.. but "your" is wrong in your last comment to me. It should be "you're", as in "you are" hahahah... jk.. I know it's a typo.. haha

  • Those cranes are so strong but only in one direction, as soon as you get some sideways force it folds like paper. Amazing!

  • Sometimes , I have days like this !

  • I watched this happen. I was playing with some friends in the wooded area behind miller park - on the VA grounds - and we were watching them build the stadium. West allis has nothing to do except get chicks pregnant and go tagging - so a construction site provided endless entertainment back then. This video does not capture just how loud it really was. I remember feeling sick to my stomach as it fell. My friends and I ended up on the news that night. Shit was scary.

  • killed those guys on that other crane

  • WT FUCK?

  • Thats crazy, Whatever is to blame, Praise the lord it didnt go too bad :/

  • @tommelfinger

That shows just how foolish you are. You need help, you poor thing you..

  • @TBwassup FOOOOOOOOL!!!!!, so I guess you are another one of the misguided and brainwashed,

Good Luck with that, but I guess you should blame your parents and their lack of parenting skills, because they clearly forgot to teach you independent thought and choice. Allowing superstitions..... Slippery slope.

Leprechauns, ghosts, unicorns, Easter Bunnies, as a sane person, I do not know where YOU "draw the line". Thanks for your "no good" comment.

Hope you get better now ya' hear.

  • @tommelfinger

TL;DR (Google that if you don't know what it means)

Anyways, I'm misguided and brainwashed, yet you type hate paragraphs(like I care) and then block people like a coward over something stupid. LOL. Goodjob making not only an idiot, but a hypocrite out of yourself :)

And you also mention free thinking or some garbage, yet you're bashing me and calling me names LMAO. You need to get some sense, pleaseeeee. I hate to see a single being be as stupid as you. Makes me sad. :(

  • @MagicManaChannel Of course I block you, and you have proven yourself, again, by continuing your crazy ranting,

I did nothing but tell the truth, You fail to see it because you haven't yet acknowledged you have problem, and that's the first step.

But to help you out I will throw you the same bone, maybe to steer you towards that elusive first step.

The freethinking or independent thought. Therein lies the tools to evolve.

God made the Earth and MAN, Then he started the timer, 10 Billion years.

  • @tommelfinger Dude quit trolling. You're screwed up if you dont pray for people that are affected by that shit >.>

  • @peepeevagi Really, I'm screwed up for believing that praying is futile, seems like you have some wires crossed there matey, 'cause you are the screwed up one for believing it makes a difference.

I feel bad for the people affected, which was why, this whole thing "discussion" started,

because one of your brain-trustees, thought it appropriate to praise the lord, for his eternal wisdom and actions. THAT IS REALLY REALLY FnCKED UP.

    Trolling??? Pot kettle black.

  • @tommelfinger :/

"thought it appropriate to praise the lord, for his eternal wisdom and actions."

You're implying what he's praising him for, his wisdom and actions, are responsible for the crane coming down. That's trolling brah.

  • That's what happens when greedy Capitalist bitches wants the crane to operate at full power even if there is tornados and 600Km/h wind striking

  • Your so smart Chris

  • @raymond9191 *You're

  • i can tell you what happened... i was a stupid f*cking design... way too weak and movement of the structure it was lifting was enough to pull it in the wrong direction :) die crane die will teach ppl lessons about metal when it fails :)

  • I find it a bit odd that this is not Lampson's first and only collapse. I believe they 3 or 4 collapse's under their belt's now. Wonder why that is?

  • looks like our economy

  • No, the loud booms were the operator of the crane trying to corect the angle of his tracks.. Osha had stoped work for the day.. 3 men died a few others were hurt. Had osha not stoped work due to high wind speeds, over 40 men would have been underneath when it collapsed..

  • @NASCARnEGRO did you pull that out of your ass or what? lol. the booms were from the kingpin as it was failing.

  • HAHAHAHAHA!!! GOOOD IT`S GOOOD :d

  • Were those "boom" sounds in the beginning the massive cables snapping?

  • That looked expensive.

  • shocking!!!!!

  • fail

  • Hot damm that is one expensive mistake

  • I think you could use this as a example of the economic system now just before the cranes got pushed over by a puff of wind. Are we ready for the crash?

  • @ObsenityofAtomicTech hahaha i love this!

  • Red team wins.

  • FAIL...

  • This is very sad for the man that lost their lifes. Nd the OSHA inspectors need to be fired

  • oh

  • where was this

  • @daved2008 Millwaulki's new baseball stadium. Please excuse the spelling of the city.

  • @jimmyjames133 Milwaukee

  • @jimmyjames133 It was at Miller Park in Milwaukee, WI

  • I was a half mile away. I couldn't see the collapse but heard it! I looked at the guy I was working with and said that the crane collapsed. We noticed they were doing a lift that morning on our way to our job site. I will never forget the aweful sound I heard that day.

  • what people seem to forget is that three men lost their lives that day (one of them being my cousin) the winds were very high that day and they should not have made that pick. but they were in a rush to get that stadium built

  • @cjdrummer28 Very tragic you lost your cousin in this accident,it should have never have happened ,every training i have ever went to they show this video,Peace be with you and your family.

  • What show is this from?

  • If you watch closely at 00:12 there is a man gettin the hell outta there!

  • Dude I'm pretty sure the supervisors and engineers just dropped there jaws when they saw that

  • just another example of how steroids have ruined the game

  • @Cooley24485 go fuck yourself clown

  • I remember seeing this on the news as a kid.

  • This was in Milwaukee, WI...our new baseball stadium (Miller Park). I was driving down the highway and told my partner..."What the hell are they doing lifting shit in these winds?", and it collapsed like 15 mins later. I still have the original newspaper from that day. Awful tragedy.

  • 3 Men lost there lives in this Accident!

  • They lifted two roof sections at once plus the wind force.

  • That doesn't look like a wind load issue to me - eitherway, they shouldn't have been doing a lift like that in any sort of windy conditions - not with a load like that one. I can't see much in the way of stabilisers. I'd guess at really bad site and lift management and bloody poor rig set up. Could have been a ground shift, too. For a heavy lift, the crane should have been on a spreader mat or a piled bed. Impressive video, mind you.

  • 0:21 those guys up in the basket... dead

  • White hard hats are to blame. All the eggheads who got a C- in physics and a D in engineering are wearing the dunce cap. You candy asses cost our industry everyday. We pick up the pieces.

  • LOL @ the operator at 0.12

  • nobody is going to believe me but I saw this happen. I live in Milwaukee and I was driving on the interstate when this collapsed.

  • Made in China?

  • anybody injured??

  • @josemanuel599 Yeah, 3 people died.

  • the crane yawned, then fell asleep lol

  • did the crane died?

  • one time i was with my dad n we had the jib fully extened n we picked up a light load crane can do it no problem we were doing the lifts all day n than when we had it up the wind picked up n the boom bent sideways so far we thought it was gonna snap unbeleivable how much it flexed n luckly my dad saftley brought it on the rooftop

  • That is one costly fuck-up

  • God Bless everyone who has lost a loved one during this tragic accident. R.I.P. Uncle Jeff we ALL MISS YOU. I can't believe it will be 11 years next month. LOVE MEG

  • OMG!!! O.O Are sombody dei??? I hope not that

  • i heard three people died, thats terrible

  • if i remember right from reports the wind was accounted for the crane not the load which was only 450 tons out of its 1,500 ton capacity, the original operators refused to do it and they brought in some new guys. im actually a connector and can say it only takes a little wind with the bigger loads i've had some close calls cause of the wind

  • As stated in the description :)

In my reply to "mikeyandsatan" I was trying to debunk something else :)

Anyway...Sparten, Thanks for helping out, good insights

  • @UNSCSpartan043 you are wrong.. it was 450 under i know i work for the company who built it..

  • @jstemp12 my bad i just said what i remembered readin. when i read it again i kinda misunderstand the way i typed i thought the load was 450 tons with the crains 1500 ton capacity thxs for the info now i know that it was 450 under the limit

  • @UNSCSpartan043 i heard that it was the ground that gave way and an interesting fact it was a guy from osha that was recording this

  • SHIT!!! That happened at my apartments once........ scary!!!!

  • wind... that was ruled out...it was just mechanical failire

  • It was the lateral wind load, which wasn't considered, causing the mechanical failure,

exceeded safe limits of the crane.

  • @mikeyandsatan have a look at the windsock on the far right

  • well that sucks

  • wind is the culprit this time. Very sad as frackle, snedie and casey are all correct.

  • the cameramen was shit lucky that the crane had fallen down the opposite direction

  • @quiteobserver yeah but there was a few that wasnt

  • @quiteobserver yes but wat about the 3 people who died

  • really?

  • is that the mammoet one thats 200 m tall it looks like a smaller blue version

  • This is Lampson's 1500LTL. Mammoet's Demag 12600CC was brought in to finish the job.

  • esta obra e construco ou demolicao

  • wonder if anyone died

  • I remember seeing this on the TV - I am certain it was 6 people died

  • sadly people did die

  • Three people died.

  • yer, 3 worked died

  • three men

  • HOLY MOLY!

  • How much did that cost !!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • A-lot.

  • 3 lives and a transfer of funds from the insurance company...

  • @ShootBigBird 200 mill

  • wow that is a huge cran

  • I totally agree! Mr Cocky Boss is everywhere.

  • We've run safety on this kind of thing without the out come above...

    National Safety Consulting

  • and it formed.............a rollercoaster.

  • He is a fast runner :D

  • Man hört die Nieten raus schiessen^^

  • that thing broke like a boner

  • poor guys in the bucket, see them get thrown and whipped, had their safe lines on, 3 of them waiting for the lowering of Big Blue, the wind took it down...also at 15 seconds you can see the operator bolt from the cab, smart guy when you see kingpin burst up between your legs.

  • Big Blue at miller park in milwaukee.

it was a windy day and the operator didn't want to make the pick but they made him do it anyway

  • @2360dfd the origanal operator refused to do the pick, and they got another operator to do it and this is what happened,

  • wtf

    they are dead I think

  • well, that's one way to dismantle a crawler...

  • well theres a few hundred thousand dllars gone xP

  • million

  • Shocking video can also be a valuable training aid. Every future crane operator should see and learn from this.

  • Crane fail

  • The crane fell due to a constant 45 MPH wind that day. The original Crane Operator walk off the job because his boss told him to make the lift, and he refused due to the wind. The person filming was an OSHA Field Supervisor.

  • Hooooly Shit

  • yes and unfortunately 3 men lost their lives if you look in the back ground you can see the red crane that big blue falls onto and the box that lil red is hoisting had three people in it. its evil to say but you can basically watch them die and its the most horrible thing to watch. gives you the feeling that your hopeless and you knew that they were in there and ya couldn't do a damn thing about it. HORRIBLE

  • how the hell can you make that out!?

  • when he lowers the camera saying "what the hellis wrong here" look almost in the middle of the page ( stop it at :10) and look in the back ground you will see another crane in the background hoisting a box there were three people in that box

  • Oh, well yeah I saw the box, but how d'you know theres three people in it?

  • i saw the show that the clip was on and there is 3 people in the box

  • read about it.

  • Cranes r dynamic machines and should always use caution when working with or around them as the only way 2 prevent any thing going wrong is perfect plaining e.g cut once and measure twice check and double check and from what i know about this accident the main contractor did not take into account the wind speed and change of direction which started a chain reaction and 3 men loss their lives as the predominate cause of crane accidents is human error saftey first and may they rest in peace n.z

  • what a waste of crane

  • Never woulda happened if they just kept County Stadium!!

  • Eh but county stadium just looked like a piece of crap. I once had to go to the bathroom there, I learned never to go to the bathroom there again.

  • sie hätten einfach einen deutschen kran nehmen sollen....aber neeee!!!!

  • Thats what happens when an operators ego gets in the way. The day before the operator refused to make that pick because of the wind. The next day a new operator is in the seat and says he can make the pick regardless of the wind.....he took 3 iron workers lifes that day

  • did the slew ring fail??? where were the three blokes that died? in a man box?

  • the bolt that connects the tracks to the rotating body sheared off sending it through the floor of the cab right between the operators legs.

  • wots wrong with German?

  • Nothing these days. I'd have a problem saluting a swastika, though.

  • then you would be shot! anyhow you salute the gun!

  • That was the world's largest crane...

  • that sucks

  • Not faulty ass crane, faulty ass operators. Wind speed was 30MPH, crane is rated at no more than 10MPH...

  • danish text xD

  • crane operators get 100000 a year for a reason. its not easy to control and keep stable such massive loads. that sucks, i hope no one suffered.RIP.

  • faulty ass crane

  • thats well bad good bad.

  • Not even close

  • i saw taht yesterday on a show and it killed 3 ppl that were in the little basket thing at the far end if u can see it is just like a little rectangle from the video but yah 3 ppl were in it and died its just sad that y im not gonna be a construction worker...

  • i dont know if anyone knows this but 3 men "union ironworkers" were in a bucket dangling off the adjacent crane ready to secure that structure in the air and if you look carefully you can see there bucket get hit and come crashing to the ground

  • most fault if not all must lie with the crane operator.he is in charge of his crane its up to him to know the limits of the crane and the wind conditions it is safe to use it in.

  • lmao.. its WAS made of noodles!

They trying to save money by reusing old food in the construction industry

  • wow! that crane bent like it was made of noodles! thats what happens when you dont follow the saftey wieght limit for that
