I think the real appeal to the alt modes for Soundwave is the customization. You don't have to completely follow the guidelines to make him look good. Like for his cruiser mode, I usually fold up those shoulder things in a way that t he two circles become the thrusters for him. You can do a lot with this figure, unlike most of the other RotF figures.

they did not use the Vocoder, which is a machine which modifies your voice, that is how Frank Welker made Soundwave have that digitized, deep-computer-like voice in the original 1980's cartoon.

Eventhough Frank Welker does his voice in the new movie, Revenge of the Fallen, it does not sound exactly the same from the original 1980's cartoon, it sounds like Dr. Claw from Inspector Gadget, who also was voiced by Frank Welker. Another thing, if you watch the episode titled "Roll for It" from the original 1980's cartoon, Soundwave will say "Excellent Ravage!!" after they capture Spike Witwicky's friend Chip Chase, the guy in the wheelchair, and there that is how Soundwave sounds in the film

I totally removed Leader Prime's sword altogether. Its easy to remove them. The red tabs on his chest plates should be shaved-off a little bit so that it can un-tabbed easily.

Yes ROTF Optimus has too many problems IMO. A small one is that he doesn't stand up so well compared to his 07 self. It seems like his foot ball joint likes to tip him backwards. Then his arms are hindered by those two swords, you can't even straighten them out. Then I don't know if its only me but the red chest pieces on him break off so easily. Ive gone through 3 optimus primes already because of this problem. It's this red little tab that SNAPS into his chest. It def looks good though =)
