William is a beautiful Chinese Crested! I lost my Hairy Hairless Crested in April, it has left a very empty spot in my heart, I will have another CC someday. I will forever miss my little Girl & best friend.
This made me absolutely fall apart and start sobbing. I love seeing when animals are helped like this, and when people put so much time into helping them. It's got to feel so rewarding seeing this little sweetie having a happy life after all the time you've put into him. My whole life I've wanted to help animals like this, and I'm waiting for chance to make an animal's life the best it can be. It's my life goal to help animals, really.
Made me cry too. I have a Chihuahua puppy that is abut 5 1/2 weeks old. I did not know she has a cleft palate until 4 1/2 weeks. All I knew is she had no suction. I have been tube feeding her. I am going to email you. I have some questions and hope you can help me. Thanks for the inspiration! Teresa & Grace
So beautiful... Proud to say this really made me cry! I got a powder puff and got this special love to chineses :) I'm glad you took the right desition and gave William a chanse! He seems so beautiful!
I absolutely love how William made it and he's a very beautiful dog!
I've always wanted a Crested (I'm only 14) and personally, I think that they are very beautiful dogs, but mostly everyone I know only know about the ones that win the Most Ugly Dog competitions on TV. It's a real shame too. :(
But, anyway, I love this video and the song fits perfectly with little William! :)
oh what a lucky puppy, my dog had had 4 puppies in her second litter and they were all huge! then she had 1 small little girl, not to much bigger then William and i spent about 2 hours trying to get her to breath properly and to get her to suckle and she just wouldnt, she was slowly dieing im my hands and i was crying my heart out, then i tried one more time and she did it, she got her first suck off her mum, and grew but was always way smaller then her brothers! so that is true never give up!!!
RIP out little kinky. Our little hairless chinese crested, she was the 2nd smallest of 7 pups born , she had a clef palate and a kink in her tail. poor baby girl xxx
hiya my shih tzu just had a litter of puppies on tues night 1 has got cleft palate we nearlly lost her last night, made an emergency visit to the vets at 11pm last night and he rehidrated her with some saline, and showed me how to tube feed her as the bottle feeding wasnt working...she is still with us today and hopefully will be with us forever please any advice on what to do would be gratefully apretiated,
I'm so glad that your vet is being helpful with you :) If you go to my web site at cresteds dot com (I had to spell this out as not allowed post URL information). you can find detailed information on how to raise your cleft pup. When you get to my web site, go to the FAQ page and you will see a link to William's Story. Hope this is helpful and best of luck with your little puppy.
I was starting to freak out thinking there was going to be a tragic ending, I would have done exactly the same thing for my dog, good for you having the patience & virtue to stay with little pooky,
thank you SO much for being William's Angels. i have a 1 yr old hairless CC named Rico Suave, I would do anything for him to keep him alive. thank you once again, the animals of the world need more kind hearted amazing people like you and your partner. <3
How very sweet! And what a wonderful story of love and patience -- how anyone can ever be cruel to animals is so beyond me. Thank for what you did to save William!
I had a similar experience with a Griffon pup she was born with a cleft palate and hare lip! When she came to this world I thought i should not even leting her out of the bag but she was so full of life trying to get out that I could not let her die I had to try. just like you I also had more than 40 days waking up every hour for feeding her she was also 1/3 of her brothers size but 2 times smarter! Well she is now 7 months old, very happy and will soon have a surgery.
I was so emotional I had a bit of a head ache! Wonderful story and Willam is gorgeous . If only there were more people like you in the world, people who cared enough :-)
Your video with the music made me cry. Thank you for keeping the faith, believing that he could make it & taking care of him! He is indeed gorgeous & full of love for you.
My puppy bubbled milk out his nose, however there was no visible hole. vet offered to euthanize
him, but I opted to return him to his mom to die. I kept tube feeding/suctioning (exhausting) and after a few weeks it stopped. he was very weak and hoarse for aboutt. 6 months. Today you would never know. It is amazing how close I feel to this lil guy. Thankyou for sharing Williams story

That took me back 40 years when I hand raised a cleft Palate Whippet puppy.
Like yours he underwent surgery, and lived a normal happy life afterwards.
I can only say it was not plain sailing, but the end result was miraculous.
