  • One of my favorit techniques:) It's easy to use it. But on the street you dont know what technique comes. Oh and... I LOVE YOU! :) Beautiful Girl! :)

  • too much simple

  • that's also an aikido technique!

  • most chest grabs are up close... this isnt very practical

  • This actually happened to me in a real life robbery situation, and I wish I had known this technique then. At the time I was able to distract the much bigger opponent and Punch him to the ground. Thanks for this instructional video, it helps to learn something new and practical

  • Training is about learning, real life situation is far more complicated, as other factors move in, as distraction, state of mind and body, on both sides and so on. On the other hand, the learning is about improving your ability to adjust to circumstances.

  • I Love you! :) What a nice girl:) I do Taekwondo, and Duan Hapkido. Wish all god for you! " David from Euro"

  • Awesome

  • So what happens when he sees her reaching over to grab his hand and then pulls her in for a headbutt?

Wouldn't a simple snap kick to the groin be easier and out of his line of sight? Just putting it out there...

  • a high school wrestler instinctively avoids fully extending his arm.

  • Nobody grabs like that on the street

  • @makfeo BS. I've had a guy grab me like that. When someone grabs you like that and lifts up on your coat or shirt it can easily throw you off balance. I used self defense to counter it. You'd be surprised.

  • I REALLY wish there was a Hapkido school where I lived.

  • @Zeferak You are USA based - unless you live in some remote area chances are there is some HapKiDo school fairly close by.

Alternatively, study Japanese Ju-Jitsu/Aikido AND learn some TaeKwonDo kicks and you end up with something close to HKD, probably.

  • One thing to keep in mind is when someone goes to grab you in Hapkido we are trained to not get grabed but would redirect that grab and move to another kind of Teq. Hapkido is used to understand your energy flow and not the str or the speed of the release but it is very easy to flow the energy and do amazing dmg.

  • If he grabbed her for real, she would likley trap him with one hand and smack him with the other, then go on about her business of locking that wrist.

  • there are several other techniques to get out of that position but i respect that shes showing people who don't Hapkido how to defend themselves.

  • she needs to keep her foot in front of his so he cant run around her.

  • He won't be able to run at her from the position he is put in. It's done slow for teaching purposes and becomes a reaction with time and practise.

If he did run at her there are several strikes in the range that you can use.

  • @LateKnight347 if she does that then he can shoot the leg. A central idea of hapkido is pivoting, even if he tries to she can pivot enough to prevent him from running her around (my apologies if you already knew that

  • I wonder what she would do if he REALLY did grab her "chest"???

  • @DippShits she's a black belt. I would immagine she'd dish out a country fried ass kickin.

  • @DippShits ...If i did really understood the meaning of your comment you are one of these guys that like to humiliate the instructors that show techniques to YT.You forget 1)these techniques are not techniques of hers(or him)but of the system that she(he)follows.2)techniques are techniques. To apply them someone in a real situation is a HUGE matter for conversation(level of practice, body type etc,etc,etc)3)the easiest thing on earth is to be a smart ass....

  • @EVEROSFP1 No, you have NOT correctly understood the meaning of my comment from the year 2009...

...did it take you TWO YEARS to attempt to understand it?

  • @DippShits ...No, i simply saw this video yesterday...Anyway if i judged you wrong,i apologize.

  • Would the instructor here please write to me. I'd like to get in contact with you, thank you ma'am.

  • Lol at him tapping out xD

  • i learn this in my taekwondo class

  • that was a shoulder grab not a chest grab.

  • Comment removed

  • No need to step back. Just pivot and turn. It will give you more leverage against the elbow for a break or hyperextension.

  • If you are interested in really learning and training hapkido in the USA contact the us rep, GM Rhoades at HapkidoUSA in MO. Training and not politics. If you want to REALLY learn then he's the man.

  • Be careful with this one you couls break the elbow or wrist. These are simple tech. if propererly will defeat your opponent, you could do serious damage in these. Not power but speed and form that saves you. Thanks, God Bless...Bow...

  • yeah I had my experiences with that one. :( it hurts though. PErsonalyi'm better off doing the chop then the side kick to the kidney.

Overall this is a good martial art. :) involves much mind games with the opponent

  • well its not gona work, unless you hit him in the face, then he'll just let go

  • Unless you take hapkido and know how it feels, I dont think you have a valid point. Many women most likely dont even know how to punch - They would just be stunned or scared. Hapkido uses painful measures that use the minimum amount of work to get the maximum amount of defense. It feels a lot worse than it looks. Also keep in mind that they are going slow for demonstration purposes - in real life they would break your arm at the elbow.

  • thats pure truth

  • Good self defense moves especially relevant to women.Male attackers grab women during an attack.Self defense used properly disables or stuns an attacker in less than 20 seconds not a 3 minute round. React with the techniques as soon as they make the grab. Don't wait for them to establish the hold completely. Can also be used if someone grabs you by the throat. If a person feels this is a life or death situation, you should react with a blow to the larynx or finger tips to the eye and nose area.

  • wonder if this technique works if perhaps the guy was 3 times your size?

  • Of course not. Every martial Art is made to face 1 Vs 1 and same size. I bet you are a UFC fan hee hee.

  • a joint is a joint, and the wrist joint is inherently pretty weak.

  • let royce gracie choke him. he wont be awake to tap.

  • hahahah.

  • Why don't you choke him yourself instead of calling daddy for you?

  • Nice nice nice 5/5 lol it was a 1/5 before wonder why...well it should be like a 3 now lol nice make more please!!!
