How much of a tutorial do you guys friggin' need? This is pretty much it. Jump and wait till you're high as possible, tuck as hard as possible, don't worry about throwing your head back as long as you jump straight up, then grab your knees and release once you're over.
It's instinct from there. Just go out and do it safely!

well it really depends... punch front requires you to really punch the floor from your run. the more you punch the more you get, therefor your tuck will be higher it you punch hard. i think that back tucks from a round off is easier than from a standing position because you get all that momentum and all you have to do is just set and go...
I've never tried this, but is it dangerous if we fail to flip and land in the middle, it could be serious. Maybe I should train how to flip fast first to the pool. Haha...
its about ur techinque if u use ur arms good and tuck ull make it but height does matter. if u wnna land on ur feet with ur head the same height it started from :)
This is a very good example, But most people who are just wanting to learn a standing backtuck should just learn on some soft spongy grass. Just like in my video check it out

No they're not easier or safer, they just seem it because backtucks are scarier. Trust me, backtucks are much easier. What most people call a front flip is just a damaging forwards flop until it's refined into a good flip. With Backtucks, it's pretty standard.

yer, but you do gymnastics, and gymnastics is all about form and crap liek that... It doesnt really matter how you do it, as long as you can. I tuck with my hands at the front, but i would rather tuck with hands at the back...
lol speaking as someone who judges fairly often i can tell you that, even though it's not quite as important as gymnastics, form is still very important in cheerleading. if two squads have full squad standing backs but one has pretty standing backs and the other is taking steps and feet apart, i'm going to give the other squad a MUCH higher score.

Rotation comes from tucking in the knees.
Watch how he hangs, or "sets" in the air. Then, when his knees comes to his chin, he rotates very quickly.

Back flip is a family of flips that go backwards, they are NOT the same. A layout is a back flip but a back flip is not always a layout.

well i advise trying it off a small ledge into something soft (sand) and then just slowly getting lower until you are ready to try it on flat

Your not supposed to grab under your legs. I do that and my coaches get mad at me lol. It seems eaiser but your not supposed to do it like that. Good back tuck tho..

yer, but you do gymnastics, and gymnastics is all about form and crap liek that... It doesnt really matter how you do it, as long as you can. I tuck with my hands at the front, but i would rather tuck with hands at the back...

lol speaking as someone who judges fairly often i can tell you that, even though it's not quite as important as gymnastics, form is still very important in cheerleading. if two squads have full squad standing backs but one has pretty standing backs and the other is taking steps and feet apart, i'm going to give the other squad a MUCH higher score.
