  • Fantastic track.

  • its very very frightening

they seem like very angry men

  • @haroldofcardboard They're not angry, they're german.

  • @shueln lol

    they're human

  • think this band has for long been not so well known influence to many great not quite mainstream bands we love to listen

  • genial

    Speed

    ist

    gesund!

  • ende neu .... this song seems to be the very soundtrack of my current life situation and my feeling on it.....

  • there's this neubauten song i used to listen to alot, but i cant remember what its called....its a softer one,its mostly bass and then on the second verse or so,the sound of a pencil writing comes in over the music...that's pretty vague haha, but does anyone know what im talking about? i really want to listen to it again..

  • @mommyimadeapoopy Sounds to me like "Die Explosion im Festspielhaus" - on the Ende-Neu album like this tune.

  • @mommyimadeapoopy If you figure out the name of the song, would you mind shooting me a message? I want to know the name also!! Thanks in advance. Lizz

  • Fuck musical purism! Great music comes from everywhere in the world. I like this part of Einstürzende Neubauten, but their simple fretless bass and poetic stuff is really boring.

  • Walter Benjamins "Der destruktive Charakter" mit zwei Wörtern ausgedrückt....

  • Niemand spricht "Ende" so untergangsgetreu aus wie Blixa!

  • Avant-garde.

  • Ja, im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes :)

  • Perfect <3

  • i find this music to be more authentic and interesting than nin.......en are proof that u can be 100% art and succeed (on some level)

  • I kind of feel that Reznor kind of took some of their act while developing his own style.

  • perhaps......i've only known nin from videos and being sujected to thir cds in various cars, so im not entirely qualified to judge them (him)......i always thought the produced sounds were awesome but felt the music was like alot of things in america: affected and one dimensional......european cultures stike me as having alot more culture to draw from and i get the feeling they are making music for people other than teenagers and yuppies who will finace their newest tour.

  • That sums up most US-based industrial pretty fairly. Most American 'industrial' bands, simply put, don't have enough drive. Of all the things most generally lack (experimentation, courage, physical drive, and unique ideas) the one thing they don't is catchy songwriting, which as you said gives way to a narrow-minded 'mainstream' approach. That's how I see it at least. Just look at Gravity Kills and you'll know what I mean.

  • From my experience 'Industrial' in the US (according to it's supposed fans) is usually just Metal with synthesizers. But that's only scratching the surface I suppose.

  • Pretty much; the very word is reduced to a label that egotistical musicians use to gain interest for themselves. To me, EN is pretty close to any sort of essence or epitome of industrial music/atmosphere.

  • Ein Kommentar mit nur zwei Worten: ENDE NEU

  • Kinda funny how people forget that Trent Reznor's nothing Records was responsible for releasing this cd in America. He has acknowledged his love for Neubauten on countless occasions which was his reason for getting this released Stateside.

  • I guess Trent Reznor promoted lots of industrial music... he also kind of supported COIL, which is an awesome band (one of the best in its genre...).

  • Well, actually, Backwards was going to be released on nothing records, but Interscope kept delaying it.

  • Germany, oh Germany

    I love you

    cus you're so germanee

    I see things in you

    others do not see

    soft teutonic sensitivity

    I want to take you

    over my knee

    And spank you

    with a lemon tree

  • Man in a week i´m going to visit Berlin...their Music describes perfectly what it feels ´to be in that city.

  • no no no do not compare reznor w/ neubauten ..neubauten is sacred people , dont get confused ..they started all this ...

  • @bolaspace For those actually from Germany, comparing NiN to this is like comparing Heino to Neubauten...

  • @bolaspace Well said.

  • @bolaspace Whats to be confused about? Neubauten was in that time period REZNOR is in our generation now. Sure they may have started it as you put it but Reznor is a stand alone genius. There is no other artist that can touch him in this era. Back then it was Neubauten, Throbbing Gristle, COIL, The Residents. The list goes on. So I must disagree when you say they started everything. It is open to personal opinion. Boils down to who used their imagination first and wasnt afraid to destroy the box

  • yES aurelius. NIN is influeced by This sound!

  • Um, this song came out in 96'. NIN already had their major hits written by that time. I'm pretty sure that NIN fanatics are aware of what really inspired their sound, you'll have to look it up for yourself.

  • Duh... have you ever heard about Throbbing Gristle, Whitehouse, etc? Industrial Music is actually very old. Post-punk.

  • PS - I was replying to someone from 3 weeks ago, not any of the later comments!

  • TG for sure yeah, and also Cab Voltaire & the Leather Nun (among others). But respect your Neubauten old man! They had a lot to do with the sound, and they have been around forever.

  • god, leather nun were good for two eps or something like that......lol.....then they turned into yule-era vu imitators.....and cab voltaire just struck me as untalented before and after their overhaul.....i [do] see a direct link between a brilliant band like spk (pre overhaul) and en.....even test department (pre overhaul).

  • this is probably where Trent Reznor got his inspiration from.

Kind of like an industrial Dumbledore.

  • this is a brilliant song

  • damn i cant understand him but i like this music, ive heard a few of his other songs in english and liked them alot.

  • You ever heard him singing the weeping song with Nick Cave ?

  • ah, which one?

  • That's the name of the song. "The weeping song" from the bad seeds album "the good son"

  • ah, well, thanx!

  • keeroy, absolutely agree with your statement..

  • dakujem i za comment na profile a prajem pekne sviatky ;)

  • Wie geil!

  • Einst neue Bauten

    Auf der Insel eingestürzt...

  • This is wonderful!

  • goodbye! hello!

  • Der drittbeste Song von ihnen. Aber nichtsdestotrotz echt gut.

  • wow..rulez..great stuff!

  • Dem Deutschen Volke :) GREAT INDUSTRIAL-FOREVER!!!
