We use the stove on special occasions like thanksgiving, Xmas and New Years, we don't use it between April and October unless it is really cold. The other times we use it to cook on is when the hydro electric power goes out during winter storms.
Our house is two stories total of 3000 sq. feet and we have two wood stoves. Together the two stoves heat the entire house all winter and the outside temperatures get down to -22 C. We burn about 6 bush cords of wood per year.
Very nice, does it helps warming the rest of the house? and if it does would you mind telling me around haw many mts or if is not too much asking the conversition to feets, thanks.
It is a Heartland "Sweet Heart" cook stove. Manufactured in Cambridge Ontario. Yes it is a wood stove. We use it when the power goes out to cook on or when we are having a big dinner like thanksgiving. It has a warming oven on top and a hot water tank on the side. We bought it in 2005 for around $5000 canadian dollars. Installation was extra, ... we love it it keeps the kitchen nice and cosy . The fan you can buy for anywher between $100 and 150.00 depending on the size you buy.
@artworkbykeith FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS!!!! The damned thing should have breakfast ready for you when you get up in the morning, then clean up afterwards!
an eco fan runs on an electric current produced by the wood fire, a stirling engine runs on the expansion and contraction of air heated by the wood fire.
Yep,we had snow on the ground for the last few days. It was quite cold down to -6 C but today it warmed up to 22 C and was very nice. It's Hallowe'en so the kids will have a nice night .

Do you cook on your stove in the summer or do you use another for those months, I remember those stoves get awfully warm
