He plays a key role in the last third of the film...he leaves his card with Macy, at the party, and he creates very oddball weapons that the gang eventually uses in the end...they go to his lair in a defunct circus fairground, where he lives with his chickens and devices. The first time you see him there, he is standing on one leg, playing a small tone instrument...one he made himself...periodically you find images of Waits standing on one leg...it's a mystery for us...
