  • Yes, conorsteel is correct. Maybe some face light may have made it fantastic. I use Vectorworks Spotlight. I find it much better than WYSIWYG and its cheaper. Good work mate.

  • Where are you studying lighting programming? can you tell me more about it, I'm interested in it too but I dont find enough information about it

  • Broken Record time: This is REALLY good! It looked great in the vizualizer, and I'm sure it will look even better on the stage! I'd be interesed in knowing what your next show is, and if it is coming to Cleveland, OH so that I might see it.

  • This is really beautiful. High quality Led lights play an important role in the design. so here is the website LEDLIGHTSWORLDCOM for reference.

  • what program r u using

  • This was a nice looking video, you know how to cue things well! Regardless of how many lights have, if you don't know where to put cues its crap

  • I must admit i like the simplicity of the show, just goes to show what you can do in an hour and a half :) keep it up

  • I honestly dont understand, This is not the work of a newbie, just because its a limited rig, and obviously simulated wash fixtures only having 1.5 hours and 128 DMX channels its pretty impressive, the fray does not tour with very much any ways. And Dont insult some ones design, its art.

  • newbie huh?

  • okay, first of all i think your amazing./ AMAZING AMAZING this is awesome lighting, do some more!! please??!! you shoudl come to my school/ can i give them your numberf?

  • A wood Singer standing in the meddle of nothing with a ghost band in playback and with little poor light rig that does not make sense. Glade that it's just virtual.

  • Thank you for your criticism. I feel I must explain why the video is basic. The video was produced 2 years ago using Jands Vista. I was limited to 128dmx channels and limited by Capture to an hour and a half to "design" and program. It was much more of a proof of concept that the Vista worked with Capture.

I note you have no videos. I would love to see some of your work as you appear to be very confident with your abilities.

    Cheers

    Michael James.

  • dont worry about what he said, please make more. i beg of you, to like a hannah montana song lol jk. but this is awesome lighting, and i hope that i can hire you one day.

  • This is really beautiful. High quality Led lights play an important role in the design. so here is the website LEDLIGHTSWORLD for reference.

  • Lucedigitale: You must not know anything about programming lights virtually with software. Geez

  • @lucedigitale I applaud michaeljames for his tact in his response to you. You don't deserve it. You are so typical of the armchair quarterbacks that feel compelled to smear those looking for support and constructive thoughts with useless, high-handed condescending slander. So I'll echo michael's retort - do you have any proof that you have any basis for your comments? Can you tell him what he can do to improve? Or do you have nothing other than an opinion and owe this man a public apology.

  • nice i like it thank you

  • bit laggy but awsome GJ

  • theres also GrandMA 3D available.

  • ive always been fascinated by concert lighting and ive always wanted to do somethin on the cpu with it but i dont wanna get serious enough to spend a lot of money on software. can anyone help me? is there anything free like this? maybe even just a trial?

  • yea u can get the trial version of this at capture sweedon or something just type capture 2005 into google and u will get it but there is a new one out now its called capture polar and it has an upgraded libary of fixtures and fancy bits and pieces

  • Where did you buy this program? In HB electronics?? How much did it cost?? It was awesome

  • if you have cmy-colorisation its easy

  • You should have the wee guy lit up from the front aswell. It's more professional. Great though

  • Well, you could use some of High End's DL series fixtures. The ones that are basically high-intensity projectors on moving yokes.

  • Hey man, what program did you use to program your light show? and how much did it cost? thanks

  • Its called Capture 2005. and I believe the basic version costs $1395. Its amazing value for money considering that WYSIWYG costs $4175. Its all very expensive kit, but If your a lighting programmer or designer, it saves a lot of time, and as we all know, time is money.

  • They are indeed Wyg, the video however is Capture. I tend to use Wyg for paperwork and rendings, and Capture for plotting.

  • those 'screenshots' at the beginning look like WYSIWYG =]

  • dude - he does an amazing job, i follow their stuff on youtube. I'm a student and has no idea about lighting effects, but i love them and i'm incredibly interested in the whole art of it.. David Gray/The Fray got me hooked on it. Send my regards to him!

Now how to figure out how to get into the whole thing...

  • Hey my buddy is the Fray's lighting designer, maybe you know em?

  • Nope, Im just a student studying lighting programming and like the fray.

  • Nice work.

  • thanks, you dont know how much i appreciate this

  • Im going to create a tutorial on how to use Capture ASAP. Im just waiting for my new PC to arrive. I shall get in contact with you when Ive put a tutorial on here, so you can see how I create it.

  • thanks!! but i'm really confused i dont know how to work it now.. manuals aren't really doing well for me right now, i just want to make what you're making essentially haha.. any insight?

  • Hey, Im using Capture. You can get a free demo of the software at capturesweden . com

I dont work for Capture, but would highly recommend it to anyone seriously looking to pre plot there shows. Really easy to use, and as you can see, creates some stunning outputs.

  • oh yea i would agree with that i got capture damo and with no prior knowledge building huge rigs but i stil havent been able to figure out how to make the movers move and change colour and gobo same with the scanners

  • hey, i absolutely LOVE lighting effects, what program are you using?! I think it's brilliant!!

    awesome video!!
