  • @TimsVideos17 Oh yeah! Didn't bother looking hid up - silly me. Maybe the script & chemistry with the other actors suited him better.

  • @komoriarschlos Go to either Barnes And Noble or Amazon. It should be in both online locations. I ordered a copy at B&N for $11.00 and it was delivered in a little over a week. Great stuff!

  • @Elric33239 thanks

  • @.@?

  • I saw this movie in an art house theater, and it was one of the most amazing experiences ever ^^ it won my heart and mind and I force people to listen to this song all the time!

  • It is criminal that I have only just heard this.

  • Cross over to the Dark Side, we have Booze!

  • 3:13 I have the weirdest boner right now...

  • This EXISTS!?!?!?!?!

  • @laughingwarlock

    YES!!!!

    And it is hilarious!

  • Not even Chuck Norris can become a Jedi Vampire Wizard. Lee rules.

  • Christopher Lee has one of those voices that you just want to make mad, passionate love to. Thank God he was given a chance to show just how good a singer he is.

  • "From the movie "The Return of Captain Invincible", the best super-hero musical comedy ever (maybe the only one)." I believe the musical "It's a Bird! It's a Plane! It's Superman!" predates this, but this is definitely better IMHO.

  • I loved it, that just seemed so crazy. Also, Christopher Lee actually sings very well...whoda thunkit.

  • Okay, does anyone know the name of the redhead in the string vest? There's a complete list of the dancers' names on IMDb, but no corresponding pictures to match names to faces.

  • Now let's see Bela Lugosi do THAT!

  • 7 shots versus your one? i only need one

  • "Might I..." or "Mai Tai..." whatever... my booze is tipped in your honor, Mr. Lee. It's been rainy and dreary all day. Glad it's gettin' over.

  • Happy Birthday, Mr. Lee! I might have a mai tai in your honor today!

  • Not the only musical comedy superhero movie. Dr. Horrible is a fine piece of work as well.

  • @MystycalMage I checked that out and watched it after seeing this comment . Thanks I quite enjoyed it .

  • WHY aren't people breaking out singing this song at every happy hour???

  • @otterpop1138 A friend of mine sing this when we start boozing, even wanted to do a pub crawl where we drank every drink mentioned in the song. Then his wife or my partner tell us to pack it in.

  • Just imagine if Peter Cushing did a song with Chris. Just how friggin amazing would that have been ?

  • Holy sh*t! Dracula's SINGING !! And he's good at it !! Christopher Lee, I think I may have just fallen in love you !

  • @gallifreygrl182

His mother was an Opera Diva.

  • @PeterThenn As was his great-grandmother and all of his aunts.

  • @gallifreygrl182 He's performed in operas, you know!

  • @MaskedMan66 How cool would that be to see live? AWESOME!

  • @gallifreygrl182 I'd be honored just to meet him if only to say "Hi" and shake his hand.

  • @gallifreygrl182 Eh, you should see his metal singing.

  • @Vizziman I have and it's not bad. I was completely taken back when he said he was a metalhead. Now that's something you don't hear everyday from an actor like him.

  • OMFG....I would be on him like WHITE ON RICE....soooo SEXY !!! Don't care that he's almost 90...he's hot as hell !!!

  • "asti spumante!...uno chianti!!" ahahahah mortacci tua chris, sei il peggio!!! grande

  • This is so unbelievably derp inducing that its actually brilliant

  • Ok, is it me or does the person in the black dress look a lot like James Franco in drag for the magazine shoot he did recently?

  • Christopher Lee needs to voice a character in soul calibur or street fighter whichever character he is voicing will end up just like any character norio wakamoto is voicing: Instatly Badass and epic on super nova proportions.

  • This was a set for Blade II, I'm positive

  • This is so bizzare, how could I not favorite it?

  • Lee's dewepest shocked my friend even moire than did it me. MY friend's just like, 'Holy cow!"

  • This song sounds like something that Meat Loaf would sing.

  • dear god... well it isn't the only superhero based musical comedy any more look up Dr. Horribles sing-along Blog theyre both epic

  • Christopher Lee is so handsome ! I love him !

  • Awesome :D

  • is that a YOUNG ALAN ARKIN?? hahahaa

  • and YOU will Never win

  • Richard O'Brien!? Sir Christopher Lee!? I honestly don't believe I'll find anything for many years that even comes close to surpassing such greatness.

  • If Sir Christopher Lee is singing about Alcohol it must bee a good thing 8D

  • even in the 80's he work with orcs XD

  • "Choose your Booze let´s hit the red eye!"

That´s what I call a call to arms!

  • Hopefully the only Superhero musical.

*Glares at the butchering of Spider-man*

  • Okay, now I've seen it all.

  • holy shit this is awesome. also it feels like it's something out of rocky horror...

  • @MrMrStratocaster Well the song was written by Riff Raff.

  • Can you believe that Christopher Lee has never even been nominated for an Oscar?

  • @Prestodigitation It's all a bunch of political bullshit.

  • This has got to be one of the single most MAGNIFICENT things I've ever seen.

Sir Christopher Lee, all around badass and awesome dude, playing a supervillain who uses the heroes alcoholism against him in a musical number. Holy Mother of Optimus Prime this fucking rocks.

  • @AutobotRoller 87 years of acting, with over 250 roles to his credit, yeah, he ROCKS!

  • It's called Name your Poison

  • it looks like he's lip-synching, but that actually is him singing, right?

  • @Chernobog2

    That is him singing.

He may be lip-synching to himself though.

  • @PeterThenn that's what i figured. ADR and all...

  • @PeterThenn yeah, he is. They'll of had the song playing over the scene when they were shooting it, and then had a better version of the song finished in post.

  • @PeterThenn It's a common thing to do, so you can get the best vocal performance from the actor/artist, without ruining a take if they miss a note.

  • @PeterThenn It's more than possible. It's very common in movie musicals.

  • @PeterThenn They do that all the time in movies.

  • @Chernobog2 But it's actually his voice

  • Comment removed

  • @DanMcCollum what?

  • @Chernobog2 Songs are simply not recorded on the set during a take....ever! In the entire history of film, virtually ALL songs in musicals are lip-synched. It's the only way to get quality audio to go with a quality visual. A song recorded on a hollow, echoing soundstage or in the open air, drowned out by the wind and other noises, simply wouldn't do for a film soundtrack.

  • @Nemesis7293 Only some musicians (Arethra Franklin in the Blues Brothers) sing on set since supposedly they never sing a song the same way twice.

  • @Chernobog2 The voice was ADR'ed but yes, that was him. Hunt down the Original Wicker Man if you want to confirm it.

  • @Chernobog2 Musical numbers in movies are always lipsynched, due to the stop-and start nature of filming.

  • @Chernobog2 It's him singing, it's just when they film a musical the acoustics on set aren't usually ideal for capturing the singing which is why almost every musical number ever (with a few exceptiosn) are lip synched when filmed. THe singing is done in studio.

  • @Chernobog2 he has at least one album of him singing, its called Charlemagne of the sword and the cross

  • @Arimmus

Sir Christopher Lee is also planning on making a album with Manowar. Should be good.

  • If the opportunity to have a drink with Christopher Lee ever presents itself, I will do it regardless of circumstances.

  • damn this is awesome

  • As someone who likes Christopher Lee, musicals, campy superhero spoofs, and cult movies, HOW have I never heard of this before? Clearly there was a gap in my life that I was not even aware of until this moment when it was serendipitously filled.

  • What a difference... here the posh english lord, there the simple american captain. Christopher Lee so much owns this video.

  • If you dont name your poison ill have to get the boys in.

  • This is funny, what the name of this movie and what Rated of this movie too?

christopher lee is so great at singing ....

  • @jkcrystal2 Read the blurb.

  • Christopher Lee, es un excelente Artista, su temperamento, su voz, su versatilidad para componer sus personajes, lo hacen uno de los mejores del mundo!!!

  • This just shows how Sir Christopher Lee is one of the best actors ever, he can do a little of everything, goddamn this song rules

  • @Unas1 Not just a little. It's a fucking much

  • Oh god, I've just fallen in love with Christopher Lee at this very moment. Oh, wait, I'm sorry, *Sir* Christopher Lee now. Long overdue to be sure.

  • Just great

  • I'm a fairly good singar with quite a good basso, but I think I just got my ass kicked at 3:57. That's one of the purest basso tones I've ever heard!

  • thats a fairly impressively low few notes. i cant quite give the same resonance of sound as him, but i can sure as hell hit the notes, and a lot lower. but thats amazing!

  • He's done some singing with Rhapsody aswell, he's a great singer ;D

  • I saw this at the cinema when it came out when I was young, only because it had Lee in it and, having only seen him play Dracula before that it blew My mind to see him sing, let alone dance!

  • I don't suppose anyone knows the name of the redheaded dancer in the string vest?

  • Does anyone have the lyrics for this? If so, please send them to me! I want to know the words this wondrous vision!

  • you sir, know how to deliver

  • The king of sophisticated evil; Christopher Lee.

I can listen to this one song over and over again his voice is so cool.

  • damn, I want a drink now.

  • My word the 80's were scary...

  • If you think the 80's were scary,

don't look at the 60's too closely.

  • Maybe so, still if you was to blend, Rocky Horror, Monster Mash tune, them old Cresta and R-Whites ads and I think the outcome would be rather like this. A rather scary thought before you even see this video wouldnt you agree?

Made slightly ironic as the ads were about drinks though not alcoholic mind....

  • You're asuming I know about foreign ads. I do not.

  • Have no idea, though they are viewable on YouTube and are classics so well worth checking out. Il stop spamming your comments now with my useless ramblings.

5/5 from me by the way. =]

  • Funny you should mention Rocky Horror, given that Richard O'Brien himself wrote this song.

  • Just noticed the video description, small world huh? But what a legend. =]

  • Who, O'Brien or Lee? lol

  • Both now you mention it. =P

  • @PeterThenn the 60's were a beautiful time

  • @PeterThenn Too true lol

  • @PeterThenn And the 70's were safer? Polyester suits, disco (including roller) and Rocky Horror? Let's face it, we lived in dangerous times! YES!!

  • Scaringly... Awesome?

  • @R33Racer Nah, it's just that people today are too easily alarmed.

  • @R33Racer If by scary you mean one of humanity's crowning jewels.

  • @R33Racer The 60's and the 80's had creativity and FUN! Something the 90's, 2000's and 2010's (so far) lacks big time by comparison. I love this song!

  • Pass that bottle of jack there wouldja?

  • Reminds me of that one scene in The 5000 Fingers of Dr. T.

  • MaskedMan66: Actually, it did get released in the USA, with a PG rating. Check IMDB.

  • In theaters? Really? Sorry I missed it. I'd seen it on VHS of course, but I never knew it had actually been on the big screen.

  • this songs makes me proud to be a functioning alcoholic

  • I really like the lyrics to this song - clever!

  • hes forgotten how to fly

    lost control of his powers

and the mere sight of alcohol makes him cringe...

    finally a realistic superhero

  • Same thing happened to Iron Man.

  • @treyblowski lmao. that's funny

  • @treyblowski He's tempted, but tries to resist the power of alcohol! Shouldn't we all?

  • I want a drink NOW!!

  • Somebody call Kate Smith!

(You'll have to have seen the film to understand that.)

  • Questo è un uomo che non si rivedrà mai più una volta scomparso. La sua voce, i suoi tratti, le sue incredibili capacità. Non ci sarà mai un altro Christopher Lee.

Another Christopher Lee in the future? Thats impossible! Long life to this Man, from the high of his 86 years old!

    HE IS UNIQUE!!!

  • He's actually got a rather good voice.

  • Operatically trained, y'know!

  • Is this movie simply meant to rock, or what ?!?!?

  • So that's where they got that whole ' Captain Amazing ' thing ( Mystery Men ).Trounces it, too.

  • SING IT SARUMAN!!!

  • Another O'Brien masterpiece sung by a great man!

  • The more I watch this video the more I like the green alien thing. He's rockin'!

  • This is great. Sure, the setting is cheap and the song is about different kinds of alcohol but Christopher Lee makes it work. He's an amazing actor, he's been Dracula, Mr. Midnight, Pharaoh, Count Dooku, Saruman, and much much more. Great!

  • Don't forget Scaramanga. Perhaps the least campy Bond villain.

  • Ironically enough, also the only gay Bond villain. (read the book)

  • I did, but I don't recall that subtext.

  • It's mentioned in the file of Scaramanga (somewhere in the beginning)

  • in the American Edition (not the original version) and its disproved later on its part of his "Cover"

there are however several Gay villains in bond

Mr Wint and Mr Kidd (diamonds are forever) for example

  • @pathwalkerx And in the novel "Goldfinger," Pussy Galore was supposedly gay...until she met Bond, of course.

  • The alcohol references are to do with the fact that Captain Invincible is a recovering alcoholic, and Mr. Midnight knows right where to hit his old foe.

  • Everyman comic Arkin with a brilliantly over-the-top Lee singing an O'Brien/Hartley song designed to tempt a recovering alcoholic superhero to backslide! Why wasn't this film more popular than it was?

  • It's a very entertaining and different movie, and deserved greater success. But it really has a low-budget look to it, and there is no main box office draw in the cast. Further, it took a big chance by being a musical. It tries just a bit too hard to be a cult movie in the tradition of Rocky Horror, rather than a mainstream success. I don't even know if it got a theatrical release in the USA. Still, a great, fun movie.

  • No main box office? And Christopher Lee? What is he ? Pork Chops?

  • I'm a huge fan but he isn't a USA major box office draw himself.

  • Sad but true. Casting him as Scaramanga, Saruman and Count Dooku gave him mucho exposure but it didn't exactly give him "respectability" as far as Hollyweird casting was concerned. Even his hosting Saturday Night Live didn't do more than let people know that he could do comedy as well as any of its guest hosts, and I would rank him highly among the best they had!

  • Also, if it had been released in the States, it would have either had to get an R rating or have a song removed. The song consisted of the word "bul****" repeated over and over."

  • Why the thumbs down? I wrote nothing but the truth.

  • @MaskedMan66 It wasn't this song that featured "bull****" but an earlier one featuring The President of the United States singing "What the world needs now is a shining hero!"

  • @Elric33239 I'm aware that it wasn't this song: that's quite plain to anyone who watches it here. The offending tune was sung by the President shortly before his other song that you referenced.

  • @MaskedMan66 I misread your posting when you said "the song" and misinterpreted it as "this song." My apologies.

  • @Elric33239 Accepted! I thought it was probably something like that. Could happen to anyone. :-)

  • @Elric33239 because people don't recognise true greatness when they see it.

  • @Dimbo Again, sad but true. The only mainstream American film that I've seen him in was an obscure comedy called "Serial" in 1980 starring Martin Mull! He played a respectable business man who led a secret life as the leader of a gay biker gang! At least at 88 years of age he's still working. I like what he said about the industry "There are many vampires in the world today - you only have to think of the film business." LOL!

  • Wow! Thanks so much for sharing. Chris Lee never fails to impress me. Hearing him singing lyrics that definitely sound like they came from Ritz is wonderful.

  • brilliant-um any chance of you uploading the whole movie?
