WTF? :D What the power supply was that? I dont see there any Tx ampl, so why its so? For standard 5W stations is good working anything around 5-7A . Dont use a mobile phone charger anymore :DDD
Reminds me of my old CB buddy who had a habit of sticking his step-dad's Henry Radio linear amp to his CB radio with a 150 watt kicker just to fire it up. His Antron 99 was not in good shape after this mishap!
why do people do that replace fuse with a 30amp.... instead of buying the proper fuse... i have made at least $2000.00 fixing peoples CB radios due to this....
lol, why use a power supply when you can hook it to a cigaret lighter plug that you get a radio shack, get a converter and do that instead of using johnson power supply, i mean thats what id do unless them radios use too much voltage, i dunno
WTF? Commercials? I too was expecting some sort of blooper where at least the filter cap blows and spews smoke everywhere. Ya operate a ham radio and can't even tell if a fuse will hold?
The commercial was a series running at the time. All with the NO CHANCE theme, but you have a CHANCE at Ameristar. The Johnson Power Supply was meant for a 5 watt CB not a 50 Watt 2m FM! NO CHANCE..... Its a freaking JOKE! You will never make Jedi! No intuition!
This man has a real knack for stating the obvious. Rather anticlimatic, I was hoping for flames and the need for a fire extinguisher. Enough, of this gay banter. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go run with a pair of scissors.
I created the sparks using a standard AC cord. I stripped the two wires at the end of the cord and connected only one of the strands together. I knew that it would instantly burn up, but I really didn't expect the pyrotechnic display to be that dramatic. I tested using two strands (outside, of course) and that was way too much. One strand didn't seem to be to much when I was outside. On my kitchen table though, it was quite a fiery display.
i dont think it was a joke i think he was really that dumb but he is making money off of it now. congtatulations.

Patin!-you must be-mortified?
A 3 amp power supply-trying to give 6 amps?
I guess the quiesent receiving current is about 200 milliamps?
Using a "Ham Rig "-----------the "Power "out is GREATER than 5 watts?
The most primative electric formula--------Ohm's Law-----states-------WAtts = Current x Volts?
Transforming!
Current=Watts divided by------Voltage?
Say!-------------100 Watts output
Current equals------------100/12 volts?
Equals--------------------8.3 amperes

what the heck is going on, in the last 20 seconds of your video, a stupid commercial pops up. did you do this or is youtube doing it.
mrfixer999 3 years ago
The commercial was part of the joke. It's a bit out of date since that commercial hasn't run in my area since 1999.
