It is not based on timing or being even. it is based from the elegant high action and quick movements. if he were relaxed, he would exhibit a piaffe that is at least fairly regular. Not half rearing, trying to lunge forward, etc.

He is trained to do it while not stressed. Horses do those acts when scared and the skill here is that the horse is doing that on command not because he is scared. if u work around horses, try teachinng it to rear on command. Hell do it for u and not because hes scared. But i see where u might think hes scared.
