  • oh come on. this creats a wrong picture. if you want some informations read a book about it and then watch the movies. or go get one after you watched this freak like actor

  • he acts like the joker in the dark knight

  • y they make huey Newton look crazy

  • @DNTimagination for real man...he just reminds me of like those old jazz heads.

  • @DNTimagination he was shy and nervous in front of crowds and media

  • @prophecy505 yeah... Find one real video of huey acting this crazy. This was obviously done purposely to discredit his character.

  • roger guenveur smith gave a tour de force performance. truly powerful.

  • I wish he would have done this without the speech affect. It's kind of annoying, he should have done it in his own voice, besides the affect doesn't sound anything like Huey Newton.

  • My grandfather took me to this play...amazing!

  • COPS CAN BE GOOD TOO, MANY GOOD MEN AND WOMEN ARE COPS. imagine if huey p had joined the police force instead. im not saying that there arent bad cops but they arent all brainwashed thugs, just look at all the police uinons there are! the ones that stand with all the employees of wisonsin!, my uncle is in police and hes a great man.

  • @communistfun yeah that's right unsres. People who say ACAB are just flaming fools. But that also depends on where you look (and when)

  • @qnbs7 glad to hear someone thinks practically :D, converting the police to being more democratic is of necessity if we want this country to ever be a democracy. a good place to start would be to just have a much larger portion of the population be in the police- that is be educated on police work, be disciplined in self defense aka guns. who has control of violence? with many more people the repression of protests etc would be much more difficult. to serve everyone not the rich.

  • Between 'Deep Cover' and 'Malcolm X' (amongst others) who knew Roger Guenveur Smith was so talented. Amazing, thank you my brother for bringing insight to one of histories most charismatic and misunderstood figures.

  • my movie....

  • Brandoooooo!!!!!!

  • @MAKER6450 I feel the same way, you must understand that we have been brainwashed since birth. Just be thankful that a few are starting to wake up ; )

  • its funny how the Teabaggers march up and down on washington with guns while fox news calls the black panthers a terrorist organization

  • @MTVVH1because the panthers technically were a terrorist organization. so was che, lennon etc

  • @AlizeCiz you are wrong.

  • @AlizeCiz , no the cops were the terrorist.

  • @AlizeCiz

"Lennon"? John Lennon? That man was a saint, watcha' talkin' 'bout "terrorist"? They weren't "technically" a terrorist organization. Nothing they did was with the intention of terrorizing the population. Those they killed were policemen, i.e., those who terrorize people of color and themselves when schizophrenia and paranoia swallowed them whole. In a sense you are right, when someone aims for change it strikes terror to the heart bourgeoisie. Perceived as such, they are terrorists.

  • @PigCapitalist

    so Jesus was a terrorist

  • @GangstaDeliG123

I think you missed the point of my comment regarding the usage of the label "terrorist", i.e., that it depends on 'who' is doing the labeling. To the bourgeoisie, the Panthers were terrorists, to their community they were a self-defense organization. I haven't done any research on the matter, but I'm willing to bet the Roman occupied government of Judea considered Jesus a terrorist. After all, just like Socrates, they had him killed for riling up their respective populations.

  • @MTVVH1sucks Are you talking about the new "Black Panthers"?

  • So good. His voice and rhythm of speech are hypnotic.

  • POWER TO THE PEOPLE...........

  • To remember all of this dialogue is amazing, real actor.

  • Isn't the guy who portrays Heuy in this film, the same actor who was in the 1995 film 'Panthers', as the black F.B.I agent?

  • @andre30032002 yes, his name is Roger Guenveur a highly underrated actor. He was in deep cover also. Better than most superstar actors

  • i saw this documentary more than 8 years ago on PBS and i liked it and finally found it again. Good documentary.

  • i watch this once every year to reeducate myself. so good

  • this guy is loopy as hell.

but i guess thats what happens when you think too much about our shit society.

ppl are so fukn dumb....i get angry and the dumbness of ppl these days.

  • @MAKER6450 Actually the guy is quite intelligent and a thinker. Very rare these days because people are so caught in trivial mess.

  • Thank u soo much for posting this...I saw it a while back when it aired and fell in love with it!!! God Bless!!!

  • It's sad my brothas today are scared of revolution cause they'd rather worship money, fame, pleasures of the world and lil wayne...house niggas cause their still sleep, brainwashed and blind to the fact of what is really going on in their minds and in the world, some just don't want to believe it..and think Malcom X was just a"movie"and Tupac was just a(n) "rapper"..Wish my people would wake up already cause the game we're in is about to get serious...Salaam!

  • @dune310la very well said king

  • i got this on dvd its real deep and good

  • I turned this on by accident. I could not change the channel.. I was completely speechless. Still am.

  • Huey P.Newton is still the symbol of the revolution. Just because he's dead, doesn't mean what he did had faded from history.

  • @ATL11595 hes alive just sleeping! hell awake one day and so will all the other revolutionist and the revolution will not be televised lol

  • did he play in panther? as the FBI agent?

  • @BLastyboW Yes he was...

  • was that the don marlon brando?

  • This actor is brilliant.

  • WITH THE REVOLUTION IN MIND....REMEMBER IT WAS 21 YEARS AGO TODAY THAT HUEY P. NEWTON WAS KILLED. HUEY PERCY NEWTON (February 17, 1942 – August 22, 1989) WAS THE CO-FOUNDER & LEADER OF "THE BLACK PANTHER PARTY FOR SELF DEFENSE". IT WAS A RADICAL "AFRICAN AMERICAN" ORGANIZATION ESTABLISHED TO PROMOTE "BLACK POWER" (put your fists up), HUMAN RIGHTS, SOCIO-POLITICAL LIBERATION & OF COURSE, SELF DEFENSE.......RIP
