I have to go back and look in my journals, but in the 90's I was strongly inpressed to go see my cousin Lou in a free concert in Western NY,where I live. I was denied entrance bcos I didnt have a ticket. I saw a tour bus parked nearby and asked the driver how I could gain entrance.he said I could have his cos he had to stay on the bus. Wel I got in and told him backstage that "Jesus loved him" just as the spirit led me to. I'm glad he didnt harden his heart for good...praise God
Many search for true happiness in things that leave them lonely and empty in life. Lou has found true happiness that gives him hope and a fullfillment in life.
Kelly Hansen, the guy who replaced Lou in Foreigner, used to sing in Hurricane in the 80s, a band known for having the brothers of two of the guys in Quiet Riot. Like Journey, they are recording and touring with a younger soundalike. Kelly is probably in his 40s and looks like a more handsome Steve Tyler-his voice is fantastic. And there's poor Lou, sick, overweight....these lead singers are like women....used up when they're young and thrown out when they're old...
We met Lou when he was a customer in our business. He is the kindest, most sincere person you could ever know. He's had a hard time of it -- like a lot of us! Only he almost died! I've been down that road -- it changes a person forever! You never take life for granted and you know there is a GOD in Heaven or you wouldn't still be here. It's wonderful to still have him, and out there making music. Godspeed, Lou!! :-) Cheri & Rick (Mail Boxes Etc.)
I've been wondering why Foreigner had a new singer. This is great news! I'm very happy to find out why! Very proud of Lou that he has found Jesus in his life! Great to hear him sing christian rock also. He's got a voice that will always be remembered.
Why are there so many haters on here posting inane comments about religion? This is an interview with Lou Gramm, his association with religion and how it helped him through tough times in his life, etc. The haters should focus on that, not on slagging each other off. Back to this interview - Lou Gramm is one of the most talented musicians and singers, an incredibly down to earth, nice guy and Mick Jones and the rest of Foreigner should be regretting the day he ever left because of them!
@leicestergirl63 It comes with the territory of being a Christian that u will receive persecution. Some ppl don't like for rock stars to promote Christianity bz it may promote something they don't like.
This interview is so inspiring. We all go through trials, you had yours, i had mine, we all have ours and you came out as a winner. I am happy for you because you seem so at Peace. Keep up the Lords work because you can be an insperation to many! Thank you Lou, Great job and God bless you my firend!
@mattfirebird I saw that interview on Jack FM. That was even more pathetic. And yes Lou has alot of patience. The only good thing about this one is that I finally learned what he went though the days leading up to the operation and the sheer hell he went through afterwards. My heart goes out to him.
@Canadiana71 Well said! Yes indeed, my heart goes out to him as well. I grew up listening to hits like Juke Box Hero, Urgent, Hot Blooded, I Want To Know what Love Is and Cold As Ice. I really appreciate Lou's perserverance. Check out his live performance of Waiting For A Girl Like You on German TV a few years back. I think show was called 50 Jahre Love Songs. Absolutely touching to see Lou sing that song. I do hope a reunion would of some sort would take place. I miss REAL music!
Lou...You are such an inspiration to your fans...you were one of my favorite singers/bands in the 70's and I still love your Foreigner hits and your new praise songs. I listen to you almost every night and it gives me great joy to hear your beautiful voice sing for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. May God continue to bless you and your family!!
Scott Ross: "You did solo albums while you were still with Foreigner?"
Lou Gramm: "Yes."
Scott Ross: "What kind of albums were those?"
Possibly the worst interview I've ever seen. Scott Ross obviously didn't do his research on Foreigner or Lou's solo career before conducting the interview. Lou Gramm is an amazing artist and one truly gifted man. This interviewer was just clueless and I can't believe how Lou had the patience to put up with this idiot.
@Canadiana71 Dude...if you think this interview was bad check out the one Lou Gramm did with the chick on JackFM 104.3 fm. You'll see what I'm talking about. At least in this interview Lou talks about his surgery and the turnabout his life has taken. But you're right, Lou has amazing patience in these interviews!

@GaylordWinchester77 We humans in the western world should have made sure that Haiti, and so many other poor countries, become well-protected against the forces of nature. So blame yourself instead of God. We have our own responsability here. People who have knowledge and money should support and teach the ones who dont. Thank you.
@truebluewonderful I didn't blame god. There is no such thing. It's your way of thinking that says god is in control of the universe. No wait, there is free will. Wait, god gives us choices and we have to guess. No wait, god knows everything, including the future so even if we have free will he knows what's going to happen anyway. You religious lunitics are hilarious. Anyway, I have to go feed my unicorn.
If you think the bible could come together, so miraculously, by accident ,and not be a valid, spiritual, guide to living life, with love and compassion for others, your thinking is a joke.God gives every man free will, not slavery. And he used Man to convey this simple message thru thousands of years of writings{poems, letters, documents and some fables to convey his love}Thousands of years of ancient writings pointing to Jesus Christ...Impossible to accomplish by men alone...
@theHugginser God condoned plenty of slavery. Crack open your bible and do a little research. He also advocated incest, since we all came from Adam and Eve, apparently. The Islamic religion's writings point to someone else, and I don't think it was Jesus. Have fun believing in the tooth fairy though.
You listen to SiriusXM? Their Classic Rewind station plays tons of Foreigner, even the stuff that wasn't top ten. They have a really good mix of stuff that you may have heard once or twice but still remember as being great. I heard Zebra tonight. So fun.
As a regular spectator of current events and past history, I know there isn't a god, regardless of what *you* think. Where was god when millions of Jews were chemically burned alive? How narcissistic. How self serving. You die, you go in the ground. Bacteria eat you. End of story.
I know, I know..."free will"..."god has a bigger plan"..."we can't understand it all because we are just dumb humans", etc, etc. You religious zealots have a rationalization for every biblical chapter and verse and I know your argument before you make it. It's truly impossible for you to think for yourself and realize it's ok to live in reality and a make believe world you were brainwashed into thinking exists.
The reason most religious artists sing about God is because there is a built-in, pre-brainwashed audience. There are always exceptions: Amy Grant, POD, Jars Of Clay, etc, but most Christian or religious bands are a big snoozefest, thats why they don't go anywhere commercially.
Religious people are unable to think for themselves. That's why they are religious. Lou Gramm will always be one of the greatest voices to sing rock rock songs. If he thinks magical leprechauns are the reason for his survival, that's his choice. If I were God, I probably wouldn't care about what Lou Gramm was singing, because I'd be too busy with saving people from earthquakes in Haiti. Oh wait, God didn't save anybody. As we all know, there is no such thing as god or ghosts or psychics or magic or unicorns, BUT I'm very happy to see Lou is doing things that make him happy. His voice IS Foreigner and anything less is a cover band. This goes for you too, Journey.
What if I was gay? Oh yeah, Christians hate homosexuals too. It's in the bible, so why wouldn't you? Anyway, what do you think of Mr. Moonlight? I think it was a great album and Lou's vocals were still operating at peak performance.
God does not hate the individual who happens to be gay. God hates the sin, not the sinner. God wants all to come to him, including homosexuals. We are all in Gods eyes, nothing but filthy rags.
Your bible states: "If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death. Their blood shall be upon them." As a caregiver of the dying, I know there is a god, regardless of what you think. I have seen enough with my own eyes to determine God's presence.
Proof is it, there have been studies of life after death. You may want to research that further.
Be aware, in "My Bible", God scoffs at "mans knowledge."
In "My Bible", God states "Only Fools say there is no God."
