The Westboro Baptist Church is not in my opinion a Christian organization. I do believe that they are Christian, but they are a group that uses their hate of homosexuality as a base and Christianity as the sprinkles on the cupcake. The Westboro Baptist Church is not in my opinion a Christian organization. I do believe that they are Christian, but they are a group that uses their hate of homosexuality as a base and Christianity as the sprinkles on the cupcake. Sure, they lump Jews and Muslims as "fags" as a way to look consistent. Its their beliefs and thats fine, but I don't think they are a legit church. The reason is because they don't protest murder or the consumption of shellfish, both against the 10 commandments.

In the Old Testament, God asked a group of people, I forget which, to not eat shellfish or shrimp to distinguish them from other groups of people (there is only the human race, but ethnicities exist). That was a very long time ago. In the New Testament, Jesus told everyone that all animals are clean and okay to eat.

The Westboro Baptist Church is, by all definitions of the word, a cult. There are only a few hundred of them, they're all related, and they live in a giant compound. I'm sure they are not allowed any outside friends or contact (such as movies/tv, magazine/newspaper etc.) and they probably have some sort of low-protein food to pretty much prevent them from thinking on their own. They do not believe that violence against gays will "save" anyone that is outside of their group: we are all 'doomed'.
