Display: TN vs. IPS at Lenovo Thinkpad X220

I no question prefer the viewing angles of IPS panels, but went through 3 IPS panels trying to find the right one... The problem with ips is that they have horrible black level and a weird glow with a black screen from the sides. "even on the dell u2711" If you like watching movies or playing games then ips will not be the optimal choice. MySamsung "TN" had better blacks than all my ips panels. LCD is just not a perfected technology and superior picture quality will not be delivered like an OLED

i bought this laptop. how do you check the computer monitor if it is ips? i open control panel and device manager. it says only manufacuter standard monitor??

ezért néztem én furán az IPS- es monitorom után a TP TN+ os kijelzőjét... :D azt hittem valami hibás panel :S már majdnem indultam gariztatni :D valami baromi erős a TN háttérbevilágítása, a betekintési szögek valami katasztrofálisak.. officera, netezni jó, de filmet nézni, játszani elég gáz. Igaz a ThinkPad nem is arra van kitalálva.

Echt krasser Unterschied. Hab noch nie exakt das gleiche Modell nur mit anderem Bildschirm nebeneinander gesehen, und ich hab in meinen gut 13 Jahren fast alles gesehen lol.

Schöner Eindruck, was auf jeden fall für den Aufpreis des IPS Pannels beim X220 spricht. Ich selbst war mir noch unschlüssig, da ich überlege, es mir in etwa einem halben Jahr zu kaufen, muß jetzt aber sagen, als IPS verwöhnte X200t Userin, dass ich die Technologie nicht mehr missen möchte. How's your back light bleed on the ips screen? I'm pretty sure all of them (including mine) have it. Some are worse than others. Mine is mostly just in the bottom right.

Ich habe mir einen Samsung UE40C6000 als PC Bildschirm geholt. Es ist zwar ein Fernseher, aber gibt ein super Bild wenn er für den PC richtig eingestellt wurde (min. 55 Helligkeit und Eingang auf PC umbenennen wenn er über HDMI angeschlossen ist).

Nur konnte ich nichts über die Panel Technologie in Erfahrung bringen. Ich wusste nur vom Laden her, dass man auch seitlich ein prima Bild kriegt, da ich auch öfters Filme über meinen PC schau.

Ghost-bilder gibts bei 55 Helligkeit keine mehr.
