  • I didn't know he was originally supposed to be in The Tree of Life. I wonder how differently the movie would've been if he did it instead of Brad Pitt. Either way, it would've been the way Terence Malick wants it, because a movie of his doesn't get released until it's as perfect as he thinks it is. But it creeps me out knowing that Heath's been dead for almost 4 years now and there he is, jokingly saying that once he'd make that film, he'd drop dead; instead he did having never done the film.

  • ...I know it was a statement about him having a period of resting in his busy life. But... wow. Tearing up anyway. It's unfair.

  • I hated The Tree of Life. I mean no offense but thank God Heath dodged that bullet. I completely lost respect for Brad Pitt's career because of this film. I was not going to remember Heath Ledger for doing a rubbish film like The Tree of Life. But anyways Rest In Peace Heath.

  • @Cinemadman Yeah, whew...you're right. Good thing he avoided being in a challenging arthouse film instead of dying of a drug overdose in New York. That was close! He really dodged a bullet!

  • i guess he was going through a custody battle for his kids when he Overdosed. Poor guy. Just proves that not even all the money and fame in the world brings happiness. IMO its Jesus

  • it's kind of ironic

  • I thought I had lost this but it is here, as the movie as only just been realesed in the last few wks >End of July 2011, of course with Brad Pitt as was said after Heath Passed, it has taken a long time to come to screen? The early clips from the movie I believe look thesame as the ones that are out now. I believe there is another interview with Heath, as at the end he says when that is done he was taking a longtime off go to europe grow a belly to bounce hisdaughter on!!I If you hear send plz.

  • "Then I'll drop to the ground dead"

    Very eerie.

  • Ha! 'I'll drop to the ground dead'. . . . life's little ironies.

  • Terry Gilliam is not Terrence Malick

  • @TheBigjay927 Terry Gilliam shouldn't even be able to use the same dry cleaner as Terrence Malick.

  • omg! that's unreal. 'I'll drop to the ground dead'. I really hate it. You are missed.

  • He would have played Brad Pitt's character so well. :(

    Miss you Heath.

  • @HeirOfEnoch I agree.

  • @888johngalt indeed!

  • Looking at the trailer I think Brad fits the part incerdibly well.

  • @stratocaster1986able Heath Ledger could have been better, but Brad is great too!

  • so the tree of life is finally coming out...so i come here to find out how a dead person can be in the film....and it's just spooky how he prophecies his own death. I have seen the Imaginarium...it was very interesting...I don't really get everything that's going on in it...but that's what makes life interesting.

  • @karaokevox I agree. I did not , not one bit, like that comment, " Then I drop to the ground, dead, for a year." I hated that comment. but I agree with you. I did get Imaginarium, and I get this new film, but it will be eery, because in a way, we get Heath back, because it was supposed to be Heath and not Brad pitt. In a way, he was brought back to us.

  • @karaokevox Sorry, but it's not a prophecy. It was a small joke that some people have taken out of context - he hadn't filmed Tree of Life - had he - then maybe it would have been a bit prophetic. What happened was a tragedy and accident. I can say I am going to die, it's not a prophecy - it's simply true.

  • It's been more than a year.

  • @FridgeNatious why dont you bite your nutsuack off haha

you nvr even knew him b4 batman lol or was a fan when he was alive so yea its true that why you called hi one

  • @FridgeNatious lol only calling him a legend cuz of joker and his death

  • Iiiiiiiirony

  • Its so sad that he died..He was under alot of stress and pain when he was alive..Watch his interviews his body was so exausted..

atleast now hes at piece watching over his Daughter even though hes not around he will always be around her and im sure he nows how great he was as the villan The Joker

RIP Heath Ledger have a nice sleep

  • @FridgeNatious THOU ART FORGIVEN! good job with the apology, grasshopper! *bows*

ps. contact me for information where you should deliver that bag of money!:D

  • @FridgeNatious Oh, sweety, that was a JOKE! You say watch what you fucking say... i said, watch what you say fucking. As in, while fucking. And don't be so hostile

  • Comment removed

  • @FridgeNatious and watch what you say fucking, you don't want to call out the wrong name or " oh, yeah, you're my whale!!"

  • The Tree of Life comes out in 2011, starring Brad Pitt [whome I assume took over Ledger's role] and Sean Penn.

  • "Then I'll drop to the ground dead."

In the words of Christian Bale. "You're un"fucking"believeable!" This just proves that Ledger could see the future. Although, he seams to have gotten his sechdule a little bit mixed up.

  • The dark knight was not one of the ten things I hated about Heath.. Lol

  • cant believe he said that..then died :(

  • @stillmissheath2 ughhh brad pitt replaced him yuck anyway whats tree of life about?

  • ironic

  • Wow.... the end made me break :(

    <3 I miss him.

  • Gosh I hate the end sentence.

  • Of all the unexpected actor deaths Heath is the one i get most emotional about. He was such an amasing actor and person and he did not deserve what happened to him =(

  • @insomniac011101 Heath is the only celebrity death that has had a big impact on me. Sure I've been shocked by some others but none quite so much as Heath. It was one I never ever would have seen coming. Even now I cant believe he's dead because he just doesnt suit dead lol.

  • @coolbrett what hurts me the most is the age he died and that it couldve been prevented if someone helped him,he was soo skinny there were no friends to help him

  • wow, that last statement by ledger was truly disturbing.

  • @thecanuckmovielord Agree, I was like OMG... shit..

    rip HEATH <33

  • its nice yet sad to hear his voice, cant wait to see this movie, heath was taken way too soon :(

  • omg

  • sounds like he got his scheduling all mixed up.

  • so he'll come back in a year

  • looks like you did drop to the ground after that!!

  • This is the most depressing thing ever.

  • It's ironic in that, he said it with such verve; looking forward to resting was the intended meaning. So certain, and yet so unaware. RIP Heath.

  • "Drop to the ground dead."

Those words must've haunted whoever was interviewing him here after he heard what hapened to Heath . . .

  • Weird how he says at the end he'll "drop to the ground dead." How ironic.

  • @Odymull Its not Ironic, it is a coincidence. there is a difference.

  • it is ironic smart guy...

  • no it isnt. it is a coincidence. It would be ironic if he said I plan to live for a really long time after this. Ironic is when the exact opposite of what is said happens.

  • when something is ironic it means that circumstance etc was completely unexpected...something that NO ONE expects

for example: a legless man becoming a shoe salesman: extremely unexpected.

    but good try, man ;)

  • @daaane its not a coincedence you skeptic piece of shit

celebs whove died always say ironic stuff

  • @Odymull I agree... Sad that he actually died thought. :/

  • wow chilling

  • ::( That's upsetting.

  • when i heard that last line i was really freaked out! how ironic! such a pity, a great actor to die so young!

  • Rip Heath<3

    God bless Matilda & Michelle

  • I don't think that Tree of Life thing is gonna happen!

  • is he saying he commited suicide?

  • He died of an accidental drug overdose.

  • I just had a heart attack at the end..and then I cried my eyes out...

  • that last line was kind of creepy...

  • wow! true forshadowing

  • I just love to hear his voice in his movies. i wish I could hear more of these things. It was always my dream or idea that I would finally meet him but now that he's dead that isn't a possibility. my best wishes to him and his darling daughter and family

  • Wow last line bit me in the ass.

  • Comment removed

  • Aww that very last line got me. "Then I'll drop to the ground dead"

  • hm... for a year he said? well, we should all be keeping our eyes open then, shouldn't we?

  • i know i will ;)

    god bless him

  • I MISS YOU HEATH!! <33 RIP

Can't wait to this movie comes to Norway! :DD

  • Nothing is perminent, not even death.

  • @firstlk420 Well, it kind of is, so...STFU?

  • @firstlk420 That's true. Nothing is perminent. But some things are permanent, though.

  • he's not dead. he is literally hibernating. it's typical joker style.

    al.

  • Why is it so fucking scarry when he says "Drop dead"?!

If he was alive to day, you wouldn't even think of it. Heath ment he was tired and has been acting without a break for years, and he want to take a break. Real break.

  • really creepy he says he'll drop dead after filming dark knight and parnassus since he actually did. well not completely with parnassus but still pretty coincidental, wierd.

  • I know, that bit creeped me out as well.

  • Same. It's quite ironic how he said " drop to the ground dead, because in the middle of filming this movie that's what actually happened. I still can't believe that this is the last movie he's ever going to make!

  • I think its scary how he said he'd drop dead for a year. I wish he could have gotten the chance to fully be in Parnassus, and do a Dark Knight sequel. :(

  • If you can tune into the spirit world or the dead, they can and do change your life, i mean good spirits, but there are some narrow minded people who don't believe it exists, death is real, life is an illusion or we could've taken our money with us when we died don't you think !!!

  • Your problem is,you think death is the end,but it's only the beginning, what would you know.

  • Your death changed my life forever, can't wait 2 c you again, love u always sweetheart

  • How is it tragic, isn't he in a better place, where the dead are respected atleast and Heath will remain in our hearts 4ever

  • @Gabriel080697 he died to young and didnt even get to see his own performance so YES its tragic he didnt deserve it

  • aw thats so sad... :(

it sounded like he was planning on taking a year long break =/

    i wish he hadn't died =[

    RIP

  • That was so eerie...

  • omg

  • ...okay....that last line he said...... i am morbidly sketched out.... I just went numb. Holy moly...=( RIP

  • That really sucks because he dropped dead before he could even finish Dr. Parnassus. He was such an amazing actor. Brad pitt is okay but heath had this certain charm. His smile could light up my world. he is terriblt missed

  • its so terrible. Heath had so much going for himself. RIP Heath.

  • When he said, 'I'll drop to the ground, dead' that really got me. :'( RIP you amazing, wonderfully talented guy.

    Jem x

  • just read the script for this movie its gonna be awesum but its realllllllllllly weird with sum kickass surroundings

  • Oh I love his voice! AHHHH

  • you have got to be kidding me brad pitt is going to replace him in tree of life???

  • unfortunately...

  • uh that sucks...i bet the whole time im watching tree of life im going to be thinking how much better it could've been with heath...

  • yea no doubt brad pitt is a good actor (loved him in burn after reading he was amazing) its just i have more respect for heath as an actor and i just think he would've done a better job...no offense

  • Well that's probably true. It's just that people tend to have reservations about Pitt's acting because of his celebrity.

  • i completely agree people do have this preconcieved notion about him because he is always plastered on covers of magazines but he has definitely prooved himself...more than prooved himself.

  • @TulseLuper what?heath was the 1 casted not brad

  • @AntiGDYB At some point after this interview, Ledger pulled out of The Tree of Life before his untimely death, and Brad Pitt replaced him.

  • @TulseLuper really why he pull out

  • @AntiGDYB He wanted some time off. The Dark Knight's release was right around the corner and I think he just needed a rest. Also, I think he probably wanted to focus more on his own projects, since he was an aspiring film director.

  • @TulseLuper Why did he pull out?

  • @kistajk I think he just wanted some time off.

  • Yeah, alas, it's Pitt...Pitt is an okay actor, but Heath had genius in him.

  • yeah totally agree pitt is pretty typical but Heath was out of this world amazing and its devastating we can't have anymore of his amazing films or anymore of him :(

  • I am so glad Johnny Depp, Jude Law & Colin Farrell stepped in so we could see Heath's last performance. I wonder if it is the way it would've been if he had finished it. Dr. P looks magical. I'm curious to see Brad Pitt in Tree of Life now that Heath left us. I will always compare BP performance to what I think HL would have done and I am sure HL 's performance would've been better. Always loving HL.

  • thats fuckin creepy what he said in the end

  • omg. that is so creepy and sad.

  • omg . did you see johnny depp, jude law and colln farell ... ?

    omg ...

heath looks so much better ...

    and his sexy voice ... : (

  • The very last thing he said freaked me out j/ a bit too much :(

  • you said it irony is a bitch.... rip heath<333

  • Man. Irony is a bitch. Drop to the ground dead...not so much in a year. Poor guy. May he rest in peace.

  • HEATH YOU'RE MISSED AND NEEDED!

  • he would have bee amazing in al of those..i know i would have loved to see them ..omg i miss him so much <3

  • thats so sad, he had everything planned out for his future and now he has no future

  • I missed your voice Heath. I am still miss you. : [ <3

  • he knew he would die..

  • I have often wondered that too. Especially watching all his videos prior to his death. I think there is much more to his story than we will ever know. He will always be missed - RIP

  • thats weird he said dropped dead

  • :( @ 1:14.

  • I love your voice, Heath....

    great movie I think...

  • damn he was waiting to do In The Tree Of Life, then he would have relaxed! Oh well fate happened...

  • For anyone who's interested, I posted the full interview (almost half an hour long, in 3 parts) on my channel several months ago...

  • yes and I am so happy you did!!! It was great and sad. Thank you for all these great postings. They help keep his beautiful memory alive for all us fans. Even this picture of him from the movie says so much. What an actor. What could have been. Geeezzz.

  • "And then I'll drop to the ground . . . dead for a year."

    Wow. That's so . . . heartbreaking.

Why'd you have to go, Heath?

  • :O Oh my god. Him saying this. Pics of him in that film hung on a rope. Kinda gets you doesn't it?

  • Of fuck! That last part is so breath-taking :( I'm terrified now...

  • That's so ironic... omg heath.... i love u.

    god bless heath ledger

  • Oh man. That last line is devastating, isn't it?

    :(

  • :( rest in peace

  • THANK YOU so much <3

    his voice.. :(

  • those last ten seconds... ):

thank you so much for this <3
