  • @ 1:40-45 is that dude hitting a joint????

  • @brianallancobb He uses open D tuning, capo at 3rd fret, making it open F. You can approximate in standard tuning by playing F, Bb, and C.

  • How can he sing so well, and play so well at the same time its amazing!

  • Both E strings tuned down to D with the capo at the third fret?

...or some kind of open tuning.

    Can anybody tell?

  • @brianallancobb Im fairly sure its just drop d with a capo at 3rd. You can tune the high e to d though, I do when I'm playing it.

  • saw AKUS at beacon theater...these guys with Alison Krauss...smokin hot pickers, and HER voice pinned us to our seats with aching perfection.....thanks for posting this..peace

  • @dixiemech73 you couldn't be anymore right!

  • Almost the original one!

  • i love the feel of this song the audio is bad

  • Can'd be Opie, this dude has HAIR!. Seriously, Clooney was dubbed. Tyminski is who you hear in the movie. Search above for "Dan Tyminski corn" for him playing with the great Jerry Douglas and some Irish and Scottish guys.

  • 1:38 classic!

  • 33 people are in a constant sorrow

  • i didnt even know it wasnt george clooney in this sonq on oh brother, where art thou? until today LOL

  • A brief starter to all who want to try this : Tune guitar to DADGAD and put a Capo on th 3rd fred There are mainly only 3 chord shapes: (DADGAD & Capo 3rd fred) 0 0 0 2 0 x (F5) 5 5 0 0 x x (Bb5) x 0 2 2 2 2 (Csus2) Intro starts with 0 3 x x x x > 3h5 > 0 5 x x x x Have fun with it! I certainly have.
  • Look at that old Martin. Love the warn look.

  • I much prefer George Clooney's version!

Haha, just kidding, please don't kill me!

  • @luizcadu dan tyminksi from union station is the one that did george's singing voice for his part in the soggy bottom boys in the movie. george isn't really singing. it's this guy's voice you hear. ;)

  • @lewko1 George Clooney ain't no Ron Block.

  • @MrBigcountry75 Is that supposed to be a joke? haha

  • Anyone else think he sounds like Travis Tritt?

  • look at his smokey old beaten up guitar. i cant wait for my guitar to get like that.

  • @beanseeker It''s a Martin D-18 about 1955 to 1956. They run about $5000.00 to $7000.00 when and if you can find them. Block has the same guitar. Seems every pro I know likes gettin' em crusty like that. They claim they sound better.

  • @moabrob ha cheers mate but the make of the guitar doesnt matter to me. my guitar cost about 300euro and i will play it until its all old and beat up and then ill play it some more. they do sound better when they are like that. the tone is much nicer

  • @beanseeker Cheers to You! I got one like that. FG-180 Yamaha. I bought it back when I was a very young man in '69. It's crusty now, but it sounds sooo sweet. You play it and brings tears to your eyes. Paid, what would be today, about 300euro. Only a true picker, like yourself, can appreciate that. Nothing like a well worn-in guitar.
