And many other concurring verses were not since they were revealed in the latest years of the revelation. 1. There is no 'Islamic threat' anywhere in the Quran or religion. Among other verses, the 256th verse of the 2nd chapter of the Quran says 'Let there be no compulsion in religion'

If muslims had to kill any non-believer, just because they were non-believer, then the Islamic expansion in the seventh century would have been an unprecedented bloodshed, which it totally was not. A muslim man, whose sons refused to abandon Christianity and embrace Islam, asked the prophet for advice. The answer was : "Let there be no compulsion in religion" (2:256).

@rasetoi Why don't you mention the fact that the "peaceful and tolerant seeming" Mecca version of the Koran, is completely and totally abrogated by the later Medina version. Abrogation totally nullifies all of the tolerance that Mohammed (PBUH) spoke of in the Mecca era of the Koran. You know it, and I know it.

@rasetoi Well, if it's a myth, when I google the words "Abrogation of suras in the Qu'ran. It pulls up hundreds of web pages on the topic. Abrogation is indeed a key component of understanding the Qu'ran. And, I agree that the Medinan text of the Qu'ran isn't solely violence and commands for war against Kufar. If it didn't have some content of reason within the Medina period. It would be too simple for people to dismiss as hogwash. Mohammed was clever and had other holy books to use as a model

And many other concurring verses were not since they were revealed in the latest years of the revelation. For example : "Let there be no compulsion in religion" was revealed to the prophet as an answer to a Muslim from Medina who came asking what he should do with his two christian sons who kept refusing to embrace Islam.

@TwoChihuahuas If the U.S. government stopped financing and arming radicals (as it did in Afghanistan, Iran, Libya and Syria), propping up dictators (whenever they allowed the looting of their nation's natural resources, even if on the side they promoted and supported radical Islam, like K.S.A.), keeping Muslim countries in poverty and underdevelopment (through the IMF, the WTO, the UN...) and defending Israeli crimes and occupation, then radical Islam would loose its support and fade away.

With all due respect for Dr Paul, who I fully support on several issues. I think he's very naive on the topic of radical Islam. He's either completely oblivious to the state of current affairs in Europe, concerning Islamic radicals, and Sharia being infused into European courts (EG: Sweden, Great Britain) Europe is on life support, where it's secular governments, societies, and it's culture is concerned. Sweden has never had a war against Muslims. But, Sweden is in grave danger. YouTube it!

I am not relating Osama Bin Laden to the muslim religion at all. I am simply stating 2 facts:
1. There is no 'Islamic threat' anywhere in the Quran or religion. Among other verses, the 256th verse of the 2nd chapter of the Quran says 'Let there be no compulsion in religion'
2. Osama Bin Laden's actual interview footage shows him discussing his hatred for Americans and has him giving the reasoning being foreign policy. I'm not justifying his actions, just stating facts.

You clearly don't understand the history of Islam when Jews, while being persecuted by their enemies, fled to Muslim lands to seek protection since Muslims were obligated under law to give it to them. Jewish liturgies prayed for Muslims to succeed in wars with non-Muslims so that the Jews could benefit from the Islamic rule. The Quran refers to Jews and Christians as 'people of the book', and says the Christians are 'closest in faith to muslims'.
