I'm gonna back myself and say, seemingly against the view of most people, that this is my favourite version. I like the dainty electro refrain, prefer the faster tempo, and the arrangement is a bit fuller and more integrated than the Long Island EP version. Credit to Beirut for taking one song and creating two works of art - this one kinda washes over and is gone before you know it, the other is more spacious and deliberate.

i've been aware of this song for a long long time, and associated it with a sense of sadness, and randomly back in january after visiting with my grandfather in the hospital, i played it about 1 amor so, and a few moments later got a phone call saying that he was in cardiac arrest. feel really bizarre for posting this, but this song seems to have been written with a whole lotof emotion, and for one reason or another ill certainly always associate this songwithbeauty of growing older and death.
