I'm in no way criticizing your work -- I absolutely LOVE this mod, but the civilization part just doesn't fit in with the game. There aren't enough people... I mean, a tavern with 3 or 4 people and it sounds like The Prancing Pony. Ghost party? Haha.
AmAzing work. I can't thank all those involved in the development of this mod enough. You're simply making Skyrim one of the most immersive games I've ever played.
I have Skyrim on the 360. Bethesda should thank you, cause these fantastic mods have motivated me to buy another copy for PC.
I appreciate not only the work you did to compile these sounds, but it takes a certain talent to be able to sit back and identify the kinds of sounds that would enhance the game.
I think many of the sounds sound amazing, but mainly the taverns and the yellign in towns is just awful, the yelling is way too echo-y and sounds kind of stupid, whilst the taverns just never haev enough people in them to produce so much noise. you should release a version without these sounds. In the mean time i guess ill try messing around in the files and deletign them
I like it, but noticed some problems. Take the tavern sounds, for example. You hear way too many people in Candlehearth Hall when there were less than six people in the place during the video. The most I've seen in the building has been around 10, but usually its less than that. Cat fights don't make sense being that Skyrim doesn't have any small felines. Windhelm doesn't have any children running around in the streets.
I recognize some of those sounds from Neverwinter Nights (NWN) namely market and tavern sounds, think I might avoid this one, though I love the other two release so far (dungeons and wilderness).
Sounds of Skyrim - The Wilds has been released. You can grab it on Steam Workshop, Skyrim Nexus and TES Alliance. (Links in description) Give me any feedback you have about it, and thank you very much for supporting Sounds of Skyrim!
I love the extra sounds, but I'm not too crazy about the cockney accents in the ton shouts.... You should find Finnish accents. Most people in Skyrim are Nords afterall.
One of the biggest and best mods I've seen yet. My issue will be the spooky sounds of caves and crypts, which are scary enough for me. I'll surely get it some time, but I don't know when because it'll take some getting used to.
It's a great mod, and I'm gonna use the Dungeons one for sure BUT... There is a lot of people (including me) that are using their local language in game (Polish in my case) and it would sound a bit weird if I heard some english voices in the background. maybe you could release an universal version of this mod without the voices that can actually be understood? Or maybe it works this way already and what I heard was the original voices from the game?
This is awesome. I subscribed on the workshop once I saw it. But there's one tavern in Winterhold or Morthal that has no people in it cause of bad business. Is there a way to remove the sounds for that tavern?
Someone did recently let me know that the town shouts come from one of Bioware's RPGs. (I do not remember hearing them in the Baldur's Gate saga, might be from Neverwinter Nights which I haven't played).
I took those shouts from a Morrowind sound project that was released years ago and they were not credited.
So this said, I'll re-record those with voices from the community.
@bjmensz Can individual sound effects be copyrighted or infringed upon really? I've never heard that and films seem to recycle sound effects all the time, like the famous Wilhelm scream.
The Dungeons is currently up on the Nexus and on Steam Workshop. I think links can't be posted in comments. So you can do a search for "Sounds of Skyrim" on both sites.
This will be great, I will definitely get it, but I kind of think the sounds in the taverns make it seem a bit too crowded, as taverns mostly aren't that full of people and it can be a fake, I guess.
@MeTheLittleBird Taverns will not sound as busy in the game. For the purpose of showing the variety of sound effects that are added in the taverns, I made them all play one after the other. In addition, one tavern sound gets played every 15-30 seconds.
You had me at children playing.

Good work. I hope they are blended nicely tho, cause if not, the default npc voices wouldn't be understandable with all that noise :P

Can't help but think these sounds would fit better if there lived more than 20 people in each town...
Great mod, though. Downloading as fast as I can!

@MeTheLittleBird I agree, since there's about 5-10 people in one tavern, hearing like 25 people at the same time is a bit too much, lol.

i only have one problem with this Mod... The people of Skyrim don't have English accents, they are predominantly Germanic etc...
donped666 5 days ago
Yeah, the town shouting are definitely from Shadows of Amn. You can stand around Amn in some sections and hear that ambiance.
I don't think anyone will mind it being used, let alone Bioware. Its not like its a piece of music. I'd love to hear it wandering around the cities.

Yes taverns that have rarely NPCs in them won't have the sound additions. This also includes most wilderness taverns.
