I have not read the books. I would absolutely love to, but that being said, this series is amazing!!!

It is SO hard to compare books to tv/movies. Books will always be better. Books just offer so much more room for detail and imagination. Since I have not read the books, I have nothing to compare the show to, but I LOVE this show. It is awesome.

My only beef is that they totally changed the entire story in the first episode! And richard is supposed to be rare, a genius and for some reason they turned him into an ignorant everyday teenager.

Just watched the whole first series on netflix. Ordered the first 3 books off ebay...cant wait for them to get here. Yep she played a great role. The chemistry between her and Craig is awesome. Great show.

If you liked the TV series, you are in for a ride when you read the books.

While the series may be a decent adaptation of the novels, it doesnt even come close to being of the same quality.

The series feels dumbed down to point where it seems like it's aimed at a young audience, where as the books arnt exactly the type you would want your kids to read.

I really hope you can separate the two in you mind... they are quite different from each other and the characters do not necessarily match. The books are EPIC though!

Sad how much they strayed from the books. But the shows are good... but if they stayed to the books how much better it would be... I would strongly recommend people to read the books 100 times better.

I put a mental block in my mind and watch the show as if it is new to me (because most of it is, aside from the characters and the general plot). It's just that they have to put action in every episode and at the same time they only have so many episodes per season and I believe they are planning on doing it one season per book. If it was done any other way then It wouldn't gain the attention of anyone but the people who loved the books like us :)
